  1. "At BKK airport I got asked for a return ticket, which has never happened before. " You seem to get high on somebody's misery... Shame on you - Mr Know all. There are many rules not even regular visitors know about and they change all the time.
  2. Correct! You plan is good. Do everything by yourself. If Thai owner they don't know how to fire up laptop.
  3. Actually even worse; I had to go 2 days after expiration! And got my passport back 3 days after! No fine. However, knowing I was overstaying 2 days and COULD have been banned wasn't nice feeling....
  4. Good to hear it's been working for you so long. Google has played games with me claiming "Your account has been hacked" and they demand PIN changes. At same time they (?) were able to remove Email transfer to Proton. I reported all to Proton and restored auto transfer. This is still on going. I didn't hear anything from proton. I may try proton VPN too when my ExpressVPN expires. So far it's working very good. I don't use Google maps etc anything.
  5. They calmed down a little but party is still going on: "A few years ago the local government decided to close down some of the bars that lined the shores of the Mekong River and the notorious parties stopped. Today, backpackers still come to Vang Vieng in search of drugs, alcohol, fun and relaxation. They find all of those, but the town is much quieter and calmer. 28 Aug 2023"
  6. Benjakitti wet land park is the worse disaster.... Ugly concrete, hot sun and no place to sit! https://www.thaipbsworld.com/bangkoks-new-wetlands-give-back-life-to-mother-nature/
  7. I hear this is the place where the party is (if you like that): "Vang Vieng has become a backpacker-oriented town, with the main street featuring guest houses, bars, restaurants, internet cafes, and tour agencies. Attractions of the town include inner tubing and kayaking on the Nam Song River, which, until 2012, was lined with bars selling Beer Lao and Lao-Lao, and equipped with rope swings, zip lines, swimming and diving into blue lagoon, and large decks for socializing."
  8. There's no city parks in Thailand. Thais don't walk.... or hike. Like these; LA; https://www.laparks.org/griffithpark/ NY; https://www.centralparknyc.org/
  9. You didn't didn't help much by answering "Yes" to his Q.
  10. That will be your smallest problem to live in Thailand. PS.Bath "busses" go every 3-5 minutes.
  11. Reading this I was confused. Then I saw nick and realized it's Saturday. All made sense...
  12. When you arrive take a hotel in Rayong for a day or two. Then go to Immi there and report your stay there and get a paper copy of TM30. When you want 30 day extension go to same hotel and get a copy of hotel's report to the Immi OR a copy of payment. Take it and TM30 report to Immi and get 30 day extension in 20 min -:) Or faster. Last time I was there I was 3rd, and last, in line! Didn't get extension because my TM-30 was from Pattaya, Chon Buri. OR; do same at Jomtien and go through HELL.
  13. That rule is stupid! It's a copy of Schengen EU BS. EU countries loose millions of $$ not allowing wealthy to stay longer.
  14. Enough to spend 40 000THB a month to stay in 3 star hotels rest of my life. Like "poor version" of Howard Hughes: "Infamous billionaire Howard Hughes spent most of his bizarre life living in luxury hotels. He would move this whole staff from one hotel to another, in locations ranging from Beverly Hills and London, England to Boston and Vancouver, Canada until he made a permanent move to Las Vegas in 1966. After purchasing the Desert Inn the same year, the entire 8th floor became his offices and the 9th floor his home."
  15. ..cause they know which side to drive -:)
  16. WISE uses their own funds ALREADY in Thailand or they transfer their own funds and accounts. That's why they can't give proof of customers money being transferred every time. "To transfer a customer’s money, TransferWise uses their own accounts to do so. For instance, when sending money from Australia to Canada, the user will first transfer the money to TransferWise’s bank account in Australia. TransferWise then transfers the money from their Australian to their Canadian bank account. Afterwards, the money is transferred to the user’s bank account in Canada."
  17. See how fresh their info is; "Updated Jun 29, 2017" - I don't think they have any retirement programs or visas unless you get married.
  18. Yes it is -:) I walk by daily and dream....
  19. I could consider living here with ocean view. Otherwise, not interested in hi rise condo cell with 1x1,5m balcony... like I saw in Copacabana. https://www.thailand-property.com/ads/3-bedroom-condo-for-sale-in-sugar-beach-condominium-nong-prue-chonburi_3a1955356f0e-0ade-8196-2baa-e6f0f3c3
  20. ..cause they just opened copy service next to the handling desk.
  21. No. I have all the papers. They, at front desk, said "no time to process, come back".
  22. I was at Jomtien to get extension but got only new time and blue number sticker. Does anyone know where to go direct with it? Or to go through same; stay in line, get a number and wait again? Thanks!
  23. Oh yes, there are plenty IF you like big, large, fat women. They even pay you!
  24. My Rompho market chicken/rice/ soup street food lunch is 45 B and 100x better than any Big Mac -:)
  25. Yes, they just come to kill time in warm climate in cheap country. As soon their home country gets warm they are gone to enjoy real life again. They are not after puzzy or night life.
