One way to simplify life. Moving money around is a pain now. Moving money between countries even more so. Securing money I need many accounts to keep within insurance amounts. In the EU it's only $ 100k per account, except Norway. There it is $ 196k but they don't allow accounts unless you are a resident. The house has always been the best way to secure funds IF you select smartly the location.

Thank you very much for good info! I don't need any loans so I assume I'd be free to travel and spend any time I want to at home. I also don't need any income in future. Just a safe place to live and keep as my base in the US. I like to be close to Ft Lauderdale or Miami airports since I plan to travel often to Central and South America. Right now up and coming destination seems to be DR, Dominican Republic. Many European developers are building quality apartments and hotels there. The reason? Women... of course -:)

This is a joke? Or are you blind? Take a walk with me 4am. Homeless everywhere sleeping at front of 7/11 and other store fronts. Riff-raff staggering to home or hotel or? Left over whores offering 400THB specials at Football statue on Jomtien. etc etc Go share your values with them -:) One is sure; NO Police in sight....

Two nights ago I was at Jomtien Aiyaree hotel and had Korean neighbors in 3 rooms next to mine. Jesus what a animals! 2 fat women chased old man on hallway and beat him with hand bags, old fart run for life... fight continued later 1am in two rooms with more Koreans coming and going. I went and yelled "SHUT THE F..UP!" Fat lady gave a quick look at me like "who are to tell us what to do?" and continue to yell. Then it was 1 hour pretty quiet, then 2am they stated to rearrange furniture!!! They pushed beds etc. around. I gave up, put plugs into ears and watched movies all night. They left for breakfast 6am. The reason I didn't bother reception I saw there were only one young lady at night. I know Koreans from LA time. They can, and are, rude people. Some may not even know it. Must be cultural thing? I'd never rent or buy a condo next to Koreans.

They come to warm states like CA/AZ/NV/FL/TX and so on. I saw very few in cold states. The system is broke and stays so or gets worse. One more reason to stay out of USA.

Plug you laptop to TV and see if it works OK. If not get a new cable. To get a shock from it is not normal...

To see beautiful pine forest grounds, like Switzerland, around near by Tuyen Lam Lake and French style hotels and building. Most are still work in process but many are like in Paris.
