  1. "No, he showed his gf that's he's not a cuck. Priceless." Good to see I'm not alone and there's other "un hombre con cojones...." BTW - instead gf being embarrassed she's warming up to move to Spain with me -:)
  2. It's done in a day, once a year; I put money to hi interest CDs, max w interest just below Feds insurance $ 250k. Renew yearly and open one new if needed. Usually is 'cause I don't spend the whole interest amount. Credit cards (I use only 3) are auto-paid every month in full. Never paid a dime of interest in 50 yrs. Half in USD, half in Euros. I used to have condos, garages, houses, villas and classic cars as investment. Only one house and cemetery spot in Hawaii left -:) Life is SO easy and stress free now regarding investments. I gave up buying a place here and just gave $$$ to my lovely gal to pay off 1/2 of Covid time dept. Haven't kicked out yet... Let's see what happens when I pay rest of it.
  3. I use Firefox but now it can't run Skype. I have gotten many to switch to LINE. Older version was OK. Could be MS pushing EDGE which is worst. Had to switch to Chrome which I despise.
  4. Is Kaspersky safe even though its Russian? Is Kaspersky Antivirus safe to use? We don't recommend using Kaspersky Antivirus, because there might be security issues related to its user identification ties to the Russian secret services.15 Nov 2023 I would touch anything Russian for next 500 yrs.
  5. Thank you! Excellent post and interesting views.
  6. When you say "Use an agent" it would be helpful to know how much you paid? Not being critical, just curious and would consider if price's not too much.
  7. Today I got a new idea, How about getting her to take my name without getting married? Anyone done that? I know some Thais change name often. My gf has changed too thanks to monk's recommendation to get his blessing to be more successful (and monk got cash).
  8. I love Thai governments logic; "Start at B, then to unnamed building OR to building A. Is the map drawing at front of entry IQ test? If so I failed...
  9. Yesterday I tried again to open an account at Bangkok Bank in the Darkside. Almost got one but didn't take their offer. The deal breaker was my gf must buy an "insurance" for me for a year. She was willing to do so but I said loudly so everyone hear in the room; "I never will let anyone to blackmail me or you! Let's get the hell out of here." And we left.
  10. "I explored Thai culture when I first moved here. I don’t like it. I don't like American culture either." I'm same... After while unhappy what's going on in every country I try to make home. Is it me? Most likely but can't/will change myself. I was born like this and "freedom to fail" and always (so far) bounce back keeps me going. One of my friends, very smart one, said; " Keep going like you've done last 50+ yrs. Keep moving around and searching! Nothing wrong with you - we people are different and that's your life style." That helped and I guess I'll add a few more legal residences and languages to my current 4.
  11. "it's been listed before many times, a place that has many sports available, even has a polo club" Pattaya really has near "everything". I just saw this; "https://www.pattayaoneloftrace.com/en I also saw this; https://www.rugbyschool.ac.th/about-us/welcome/ Big, big money investments! And there's more. Not that I have any interest or skill to participate but I just liked to see CLEAN spots of Pattaya and Thailand, walk the grounds and get a little hope to 24/7 littering. NO damn dogs neither! I also go to fancy golf courses and have a lunch (often very reasonable price too!) and enjoy the beauty of well cared grounds. I'm not a member or play but they don't care. After moving to Lake Mabprachan I rarely go to Pattaya to get farang food at special shops. Plus stay a night when leaving and returning by BKK bus. But I feel good it IS there if I want to go and see my old walking grounds. I could live there too but a walk around Lake Mabprachan has all I need.
  12. He said; "it worked fine for first 6 months then started getting monthly requests from them to sign up for their paid service. After 3 months of ignoring these requests the spam emails started piling in, go figure!" It looks to me Proton could have sold his address to spammers... IF it wasn't in EU. But of course, you're right too. Hopefully I am right. Will find out soon I'm getting same Proton offers which don't bother me. Very mild compared to Google junk and constant pushing this and that. They even found out I got SmartPhone which I only use to log in my EU bank and "location" nor "Net and Google search etc" has never been ON. I guess they sniffed via my BlueTooth to lap top traffic?
  13. Visa run companies offer "ride along" lower price for non visa travelers in Jomtien. You may get 1/2 price for one way. These companies are much safer than regular White busses.
  14. "After 3 months of ignoring these requests the spam emails started piling in, go figure! " I did use VPN and EU country to register. That should eliminate spam. EU laws are very tough.
  15. I went to 2 hole-in-wall stores. They were selling same GMAX HomePro 690THB junk for 1250 THB... Also, trying to sell NEW tank fort 2500THB. They had used ones, filled and tested and as good as a new one. I wanted one. Didn't even get the price. "Can no sell...." I failed to see savings and I walked out. I'm sure there is good ones too but gotta find one.
  16. I'm setting up temporary kitchen and don't want to buy new. HomePro has 700 THB twin burner but "only on the net and no return". I rather pay same for a good used one that I can see and test. Also, used gas tank & valve. Thanks! PS. I got 2 smaller ones with cooking at top. DANGEROUS set up for gf to use. Will give in trade or sell.
  17. Thanks getting site back! I don't need faster speed, I'm retired -:)
  18. Too much info fishing etc I changed to Swiss Proton Email. So far very light, fast and simple. Easy switch of google anything. I like EU privacy protection too. Any experience of Proton?
  19. On recent trip to Vietnam her long names showed last name in full but only 2 letters of her first name on the ticket. Going was Ok but coming back Vn Immi and agents paid lot of attention for non matching name to passport but let her return. Exactly as I assumed would happen sooner or later.... 2 yrs ago in Dalat VietJet agent misspelled my last name by 1 letter on my ticket. Couldn't fly, had to go to agent and get it changed. Next trip planned in 2 weeks. Let's see what happens.
  20. I did it after re-entering visa free and asked "Do I need to do this every time after a trip out of Thailand?" "Yes", she said. So that's what I'll do at Jomtien. Why rock the boat? Reporting is free.
  21. There is conflicting info about it. Buying an unit seems to be OK, like buying a condo, but what about land under commercial building? I see many run business on the first floor and use units above for living. I'm living in one right now and I like it. I'd like to own it but the owner doesn't know how.
  22. US has many things wrong but The National Park entry system is excellent! So are the parks and services. When I bought my "Life time pass" about 15 years ago it was $40. The card is still valid and I use it every time to visit US parks. Is Thailand had good, safe, clear and well organized parks I wouldn't mind 400TH fee. They are not and don't visit any more any of them. Not even for free. The way it should be: US citizens or permanent residents 62 years or older are eligible for a Senior Pass. The Senior Lifetime Pass is valid for your lifetime and costs $80. The Senior Annual Pass is valid for one year and costs $20. Annual and lifetime Senior Passes provide access to hundreds of recreation sites managed by these six federal agencies: National Park Service US Fish & Wildlife Service Bureau of Land Management Bureau of Reclamation US Forest Service US Army Corps of Engineers
  23. I tried to send from phone but couldn't. Don't know enough this new stuff. However, I may be able to see Netflix from the phone via adapter to HDMI input on my TV. Netflix to phone service seems to be cheap in Thailand. I already watch all like that from my laptop. Yes - I am living in stone age but it works for me. Plus I hate Google-anything.
  24. This Australian drink is the best I've tasted. In Jomtien BKK bus station Family Market sell it. Is there any store who has it on the Darkside? Thanks!
