  1. I happily pay to see the best football in the world! I don't have or use VPN. My beINSPORTS cost only $ 3,56/month! Same in EU $ 50-up a month...
  2. Went by Ruzzian Market on the Pratumnak hill last night. Every table taken, no empty seats! More food available than last year. High prices, of course. So, Ruzzians have a way to get out from Ruzzia or stay in Thailand. They seem to spend a lot. Good for Thais!
  3. The Best instant coffee, Vietnamese G7 BLACK, on sale 49 THB/box at Jomtien bus station store (Family Market?). Those who blast all instant being junk has never tasted this! Not coarse like others, but "dust". Try it, you may like it -:) PS. ALL others are junk on my book too.
  4. "That place is beautiful, took the helicopter tour an age ago, amazing." Way to go to mix with locals and see REAL Hawaii 5555.
  5. Got ticket to DaNang. No problems. One way $ 68,57. I saved $ 30 on visa too. - My fear was possible high fees, like VietJet, when/if need to change something. - When country's major airline is so incompetent on booking, as Cambodia Airways, how are pilot training etc?
  6. I'm going to live in Nong Prue (close to MapPrachan lake) at commercial unit and there's no TV cable nor satellite disc. I found this info, looks pretty complete: https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/pattaya-satelite-and-cable-tv-options/ I already subscribe to BeInSports via Net but I want also to watch EPL (English Premier League) football. What's the best way for lowest price to get it? Thanks!
  7. "Last year he was prevented from boarding (Emirates) because his outbound ticket was from DMK to REP (Siam Reap). He was asked just how he would travel to DMK should he be refused entry at SUV. He subsequently obtained another ticket SUV to REP and was then allowed to board." This doesn't make sense--- "Ticket out" is for getting out within visa free or visa time limit. Not at first entry!
  8. ....but Cambodia doesn't love me; ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Dear Value Customer, Greeting from Cambodia Airways, Please be informed that due to in our website can not book with the passenger who is over 70 years old. Best regards, Customer Service Revenue & Customer Cambodia Airways Co., Ltd ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I tried to book a flight but couldn't select required BD on the drop down field. Drop down menu shows Ok but can't transfer. Wrote for help and got an answer above. Solution? Hello Vietnam! Again -:)
  9. Saw this today; "Pretty soon, Thailand is set to introduce 2 levels of pricing across the hospitality sector in a bid to revitalize its Covid-struck economy: one for tourists, and another for locals and residents. Yep, that’s right. In the future, you will be expected to pay more for accommodation when visiting Thailand… Only because you’re a tourist." "What’s Behind The Government’s Decision? When it comes to hospitality, the Tourism Ministry will ask hotels to implement a ‘dual-tariff structure’ policy, requiring foreigners to be charged rates that are similar, or sometimes even more expensive, than 2019 levels, in order to ‘support a faster recovery of the industry’. The news were confirmed by government spokeswoman Traisureee Taisaranakul." Link; https://www.traveloffpath.com/thailand-to-introduce-2-levels-of-pricing-one-for-tourists-and-one-for-locals/ I kind of understand it. Thais don't make much. In Isan it's even much less. "Besides a weaker currency in general, the minimum wage in Thailand is roughly USD 194.84 per month, a negligible amount most solo travelers working remotely make in a day. Unless they come from more affluent backgrounds, or have saved enough Baht for a vacation, traveling can be extremely challenging for Thais in this crisis – even if it’s domestic travel."
  10. "I stayed in something similar in VT2B - Lots of old guys around "stuck" there in the small rooms. I'm just glad I could afford something bigger in a less crowded building. " Less crowded means not popular 🙂 You'll take a hit when selling.... PS. I love to be with old guys! Can't get better neighbors to look after mine when I'm away.
  11. "Having lived in VT 3, 5C, 5D, and 7" Have to looked at VT2? I've been and what I like is the price - very cheap! I'd like to get VT7 but #2 is a good starter. The pool is awesome and super clean and very few uses. The big quiet lot is for walks too. Close to BKK bus too. VT1 is a party place, or was, but no longer GoGo bars so it's better but worm out feeling. What I like about VT2-8 is money is safe. VT projects keep value very well. And as you said the location is the best for the money.
  12. "If you turn up at an Immigration office for a service, they will check a TM30 has been filed." When staying in hotel is there way to check on line if they have reported? I usually ask screen hot of report but all don't give it. Some give letter stating "report has been made" but no copy of it.
  13. Have never got good food in Vietnam! The best in Dalat was Thai place which wouldn't survive a month in business in Thailand..... Pho in restaurants is disgusting oily mess. However, they eat very well in Vietnam at home.
  14. I've been checking Non Prue area and wondered why so many abandoned houses? Is there a way to find out owners? The area is nice and good for walking around the lake. Many likewise people, all ages, exercising nightly. Haven't seen any condos yet.
  15. "you present it as your own view." I think everyone is expressing HIS/HER own views except you! You are a pre-programmed robot w/o own thinking. Cut n paste type...
  16. Either one will do. However, if you were after Vietnamese you'd be out of luck. "Mental Health Certificate: A written certification granted by a Vietnamese or competent foreign health organization within 6 months of the date the marriage application is submitted."
  17. Yesterday I checked a few apartments. All advertised "1-yr contract" but were willing to rent 1mo or more. I think it's a law to have minimum of 12m but this is Thailand and " your milage will vary..."
  18. I noticed increased checking regarding return ticket from EU by Thai Airline. They had two check points before boarding. One gentleman, flying Silk class, didn't have ticket out of Thailand within 30 days. Didn't see if he got in or not but conversation was intense. I had booked flight to VN, in case. Lucky me I did ????
  19. "Not sure, but my recent visit to Pattaya may finally turn out as something like a "farewell-tour". I ask myself, is a 12 hour flight worth it to obsereve the unstoppable "shrinkage" of a former mens paradise?" I've same kind of feelings too but after visits to Spain, US and other places Thailand start to look pretty attractive again. Thailand "paradise" isn't going away soon. Where else you get pretty women, half of your age? Some even want to marry you, not your wallet. You get so much more for your money! Even if I can afford other places why to spend 4-5 times more? Flying 10+ h is already a pain and getting worse. PS. 5h until take off - again. See u on Jomtien 4am. I love my early morning long walks!
  20. My solution; The beach is 8km long. There are plenty of nice quiet spots for everyone.
  21. Has free gun ownership made US safe? No. It's getting worse... 2024 election may trigger Civil War II "More than 1,300 children and teens have been killed by guns so far this year. Firearms are now the No. 1 killer of children and teens in America, having surpassed motor vehicles accidents, which had been the leading cause of death among America’s youth until 2020. Just as cars and roads were becoming safer, guns were killing more and more kids in America: Federal data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the number of gun deaths among US children and teenagers rose 50 percent between 2019 and 2021. But this terrible trendline cannot be articulated through datasets alone."
  22. "The guys after cheap sex will come to Pattaya' I think you're wrong here - they will come to expensive too ????
  23. I saw this New Yorker's opinion on South; <deleted> the South. <deleted> 'em. We should have let them go when they wanted to leave. But no, we had to kill half a million people so they'd stay part of our special Union. Fighting for the right to keep slaves - yeah, those are states we want to keep. And now what do we get? We're the <deleted> Arrogant Northeast Liberal Elite? How about this for arrogant: the South is the Real America? The Authentic America. Really? Cause we <deleted> founded this country, <deleted>. Those Founding Fathers you keep going on and on about? All that bull<deleted> about what you think they meant by the Second Amendment giving you the right to keep your assault weapons in the glove compartment because you didn't bother to read the first half of the <deleted> sentence? Who do you think those wig-wearing lacy-shirt sporting revolutionaries were? They were <deleted> blue-staters, dickhead. Boston? Philadelphia? New York? Hello? Think there might be a reason all the <deleted> monuments are up here in our backyard? No, No. Get the <deleted> out. We're not letting you visit the Liberty Bell and <deleted> Plymouth Rock anymore until you get over your real American selves and start respecting those other nine amendments. Who do you think those <deleted> stripes on the flag are for? Nine are for <deleted> blue states. And it would be 10 if those Vermonters had gotten their <deleted> Subarus together and broken off from New York a little earlier. Get it? We started this <deleted>, so don't get all uppity about how real you are you Johnny-come-lately "Oooooh I've been a state for almost a hundred years" dickheads. <deleted> off. Arrogant? You wanna talk about us Northeasterners being <deleted> arrogant? What's more American than arrogance? Hmmm? Maybe horsies? I don't think so. Arrogance is the <deleted> cornerstone of what it means to be American. And I wouldn't be so <deleted> arrogant if I wasn't paying for your <deleted> bridges, bitch. All those Federal taxes you love to hate? It all comes from us and goes to you, so shut up and enjoy your <deleted> Tennessee Valley Authority electricity and your fancy highways that we paid for. And the next time Florida gets hit by a hurricane you can come crying to us if you want to, but you're the ones who built on a <deleted> swamp. "Let the Spanish keep it, it’s a <deleted>hole," we said, but you had to have your <deleted> orange juice. The next dickwad who says, "It’s your money, not the government's money" is gonna get their ass kicked. Nine of the ten states that get the most federal <deleted> dollars and pay the least... can you guess? Go on, guess. That’s right, <deleted>, they're red states. And eight of the ten states that receive the least and pay the most? It’s too easy, <deleted>, they’re blue states. It’s not your money, <deleted>, it’s <deleted> our money. What was that Real American Value you were spouting a minute ago? Self reliance? Try this for self reliance: buy your own <deleted> stop signs, <deleted>. Let’s talk about those values for a <deleted> minute. You and your Southern values can bite my ass because the blue states got the values over you <deleted> Real Americans every day of the goddamn week. Which state do you think has the lowest divorce rate you marriage-hyping dickwads? Well? Can you guess? It’s <deleted> Massachusetts, the <deleted> center of the gay marriage universe. Yes, that’s right, the state you love to tie around the neck of anyone to the left of Strom Thurmond has the lowest divorce rate in the <deleted> nation. Think that’s just some aberration? How about this: 9 of the 10 lowest divorce rates are <deleted> blue states, <deleted>, and most are in the Northeast, where our values suck so bad. And where are the highest divorce rates? Care to <deleted> guess? 10 of the top 10 are <deleted> red-ass we're-so-<deleted>-moral states. And while Nevada is the worst, the Bible Belt is doing its <deleted> part. But two guys making out is going to <deleted> ruin marriage for you? Yeah? Seems like you're ruining it pretty well on your own, you little bastards. Oh, but that's ok because you go to church, right? I mean you do, right? Cause we <deleted> get to hear about it every goddamn year at election time. Yes, we're fascinated by how you get up every Sunday morning and sing, and then you're <deleted> towers of moral superiority. Yeah, that's a workable formula. Maybe us <deleted> Northerners don't talk about religion as much as you because we're not so busy sinning, hmmm? Ever think of that, you self-righteous <deleted>? No, you're too busy erecting giant stone tablets of the Ten Commandments in buildings paid for by the <deleted> Northeast Liberal Elite. And who has the highest murder rates in the nation? It ain't us up here in the North, <deleted>. Well this gravy train is <deleted> over. Take your liberal-bashing, federal-tax-leaching, confederate-flag-waving, holier-than-thou, hypocritical bull<deleted> and shove it up your ass. And no, you can't have your <deleted> convention in New York next time. <deleted> off. Sincerely, "New Yorker"
  24. My yearly trip to Long Beach GP race used to cost $ 350/3 nights w breakfast. Now this; Price € 900 Includes taxes and charges Good breakfast € 19 - about $ 1050/3 nites w breakfast - For same $ I get a full month on Jomtien beach. Not luxury but very nice hotel and nice breakfast. And the bonus; Eye candy on the beach.... beats "beached whales" at the L.B.
  25. Never voted for Republicans but still sad what a mess they are in. The whole US suffers.... There's no hope. I guess I keep commuting between 4 continents till I die.
