  1. I am waiting for Defcon XYZ-123 sub-sub variant, that's when we should really be concerned.
  2. Thai Mafia are 2 bit players when compared to ultra wealthy Chinese tycoons/ kingpins. And it wouldn't surprised me that the criminal element in LOS are in cohoots with the Chinese
  3. RTP better be careful with too many Chinese related arrests and investigations. They surely don't want to stir the hornet's nest when it comes to their golden egg. To be clear, I do like the fact they are going after criminals esp. the Chinese kind who have had the luxury of operating openly for years with the help of corrupted RTP and gov't officials.
  4. The Chinese have been running "entertainment" businesses since they arrived in Siam in the 17th century. And now you begin to investigate them??? ????
  5. the real Chinese Mafia is the Thai-Chinese descent government officials and HiSo.
  6. You can apply the same thought process on Thai women choosing certain western men to shack up with.
  7. I agree as well but I do think western Europe will be the only bright spot. It was recovering quite well this past summer ( record numbers too) and Europeans enjoyed visiting other parts of Europe due to airfare and transportation costs being comparatively low as opposed to traveling half way across the world.
  8. the Thai will not stray too far from their Chinese masters. it's a temporary hiccup until the hoard returns then everything will be restored.
  9. I beg to differ; I can judge all I want, and it won't make an ounce of difference on their policies.
  10. 999, 999 were men spending their $$$ in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat massage parlors.
  11. while I agree with the US comparison, America has a population of 350 million and not counting another 20 million illegals, the big companies know they will still make huge profit due to massive capital, advertisements, promotions at huge sporting and musical events, loyal base etc. they're not concerned with smaller craft beers companies cutting into their profit margin because most of them are brewed locally for local consumption and the ones that go nationwide are few and far in between. bottom line, America is a big country with a large population where the small guys can make money as well. Thailand with its nepotism and chronic corruption is a bad place for inspiring entrepreneurs.
  12. In a strange way and perhaps a blessing in disguise for the rest of the world with Covid is that China has completely damaged and destroyed themselves from within with these draconian measures and restrictions without any outside interference or meddling. history will show us whether this was a strategic move by Xi or the worst decision they ever made.
  13. I told my Thai wife when she first arrived in America, if she doesn't learn to like Mexican food, our marriage won't last too long! ???? she loves it now and she has always enjoyed Indian food even when she was in Thailand.
  14. you can always count on TAT for the weekly laughs on this board.
  15. Back in the late 90s, I came across a magazine on gun violence around the world. They stated that BKK had the highest gun-related deaths per capita in the world. How true that is today, I don't know, but I would imagine it hasn't changed all that much.
  16. "Vietnam, has a more Work centric population, with a much higher standard of Education for Investors to tap." Hammer meets nail!
  17. Lol!! Denial is in their blood. Saving face and such...Like your stubborn Thai woman, she doesn't see the forest because of the trees.
  18. Spot on! my Thai wife has been telling me this line of thinking for awhile. Her typical Thai xenophobic belief is Thailand is for Thais and if you don't like the way the country or gov't treats non Thai, you can leave.
