People predicted the end of Thailand during 2008 recession - NO People predicted end of Thailand during red / yellow shirt circus in 2011 - NO People predicted end of Thailand during Covid - NO For whatever reason Thailand seems to 'keep on truckin'.

    The GC's seemed to be used more by long timers as opposed to tourists, the long timers are popping in to get a bit on the side with a bit of discretion.

    KFC is definately more visible once out the big cities, almost every PTT has one these days, the newer ones for sure. Heading North on route 21 i think the last one with MacDonalds / BK is Saraburi.

    The prices i have been paying i think are very fair for what i've been getting.

    Hotel prices here soaring.... I think they're great value for money, just stayed in a 70sqm suite at Citrus Suites soi 6 BKK for 3.5K ($100) a night - bargain. Recently been up to Chiang Khong, Nan, Phayoa, CR, no hotel more than 1500 and all very reasonable.
