    Whilst all the technology exists banks still live in the stone age. I remember in the UK wanting clearance of a cheque. The bank wanted 7 days to clear it but for a small fee they would phone up and get immediate clearance. You can give banks all the latest in technology but unfortunately the people like in the stone age.

    It isn't WISE that is the problem, it is the banks. Buy technology then do everything by hand. In a strange way it may make sense

    Ít is amazing how long banks take to credit you. They spend a fortune on computer networks yet it takes forever to make a transfer.

    I remember saying that about the Russians many months ago and being told I didnt know what I was talking about. Looks like I did know what I was talking about.

    If you passport is with Immigration and you are out of the country, presumably you have more than one passport. In your case I have no idea what would happen in the event you didn't present yourself at the required time.

    I have also been to the Emirates, Qatar, Oman. Yemen and the places you mention probably yes but not the Gulf states

    I have seen brand new Mercedes abandoned by the roadside, In Qatar you see a lot of Porsche, BMW even Rollers as well. I have never seen or heard of any of the locals buying a car that was not new and from the dealer in country.

    You are forgetting the alcoholics that live here in Thailand. They need their fix.

    If the police go down Sai Mai road near the market around 7 to 9am they will get a lot of motor bikes without licence plates and driving on the sidewalk. They very rarely go there at that time in the morning though.

    Are you sure about the Middle East? In most of those countries money and availability of super cars is not a problem.
