  1. Recently? So happy for you....but we're talking about Thai banks here.
  2. Expat from the Latin "ex patria" fundamentally meaning not living in your birth or home nation. Nothing to do with percentages of anything. Ever. Ergo snowbirds are expats, just the same as foreign workers in Thailand, retirees living in Thailand, those with Thai families and/or spouses, and digital nomads pitching their tents in Thailand are expats. Two week millionaires, sponsors of sick buffalo owners, "resident tourists" (a dying breed), sexpats, mongers (more rare species) and others just passing through who complain about Thailand's archaic daytime alcohol bans, not so much.
  3. "Asean's collective defense against Chinese expansionism. ..." LOL ASEAN is the biggest enabler of the CCP's strategy of "divide and conquer". Just look at the Philippines recent Presidential flip-flop on China-love now playing out in the East Sea. Duterte blew hot and cold during his tenure. The incumbent is cold... for now. Malaysia is still delivering their "mixed signals" on trade and rapprochement versus offshore interference. Indonesia sat on their hands during a very recent offshore exploration harassment. Vietnam threw their towel in over 10 years ago, giving up on their deep water entitlements. As for the AIS sale including "personal info", unless one registered for an ex-directory listing, phone numbers are and always have been in the public domain.
  4. Wow... 18 hours old and nobody's mentioned the "Red Bull guy" yet.
  5. In other news, Australia just broke into the world's Top Ten, so well done Bruce!
  6. The US is 28th. Thanks for playing.
  7. These expedited meet and greet fast track services are for a passengers immigration clearance. They are not an expedited baggage claim and clearance service. Your checked baggage isn't fast tracked unless you are ticketed at a premium class of travel or you have elevated membership status with that airline/group.
  8. Try having a creamy latte with no milk Jack Daniels in my Corn Flakes floats my boat.
  9. same reason why people wear nike or adidas hats? regards, Elvis. No. Because they're all hiding their chickens__t MAGA lights under a bushel, like @Yagoda does.
  10. Corruption in Phuket? Please, for the love of all that you hold dear to you, say it isn't so.
  11. Is not milk I take it you haven't seen the YouTube of the guy milking almonds and their incredibly small nipples?
  12. Thanks to both @MicroB and @Bkk Brian for references to insightful and enlightening plans, both historical and more recent. Both reference nation-forming and economic rationales as incentives for peace-making but hasn't Hamas and Hezbollah raison d'être been primarily couched in religious hegemony, cultural domination and the all-embracing intolerance that comes with it? I broadly agree that any freedom fighter has a price and "everyone can be bought" but deep seated religious hatred and bigotry endures regardless of how much money is thrown at it. Look at Ireland for an example of a fragile and superficial peace where decades of financial boosters and incentives hasn't really cooled the core of an intense, mutual, cross-generational hatred and revulsion.
  13. Expropriation of land and forced exile is humane treatment? You read it here first.
  14. Solid advice. Those who claim his pre-election comments about stopping wars within hours or days of his inauguration are lies have forgotten the tenor of his rhetoric during his first joust 2016-2020. A lie would be him claiming that he has stopped a war when in reality it is still ongoing.
  15. More like @placeholder hasn't gone full Trump?
  16. He has been charged with the visa overstay in Thailand. The offence has been proven. He is wanted in the US for the more odious charges, not arrested or charged yet. That will happen on arrival in the US. There's no evidence that he committed any of the more serious criminal acts in Thailand. I trust you can now appreciate why the media chose not to sensationalize the report
  17. I doubt that any Native American Indian would go along with your rather abstruse notion of revenge, but maybe your beloved Iranians would?
  18. 1 x Salaeng (scooter with side car) 1 x Portable pizza oven (gas or wood pellets) 1 x Gas bottle or bag of wood pellets 1 x Ice box with 2 or 3 dozen pre-made small pizza bases 1 x Ice box with pre-cut pizza meats, marinara, veg, cheese, etc.. 1 x Pack of paper plates (optional) 1 x Driver (wife) 1 x Pizza maker (me) Stalk the local "pub row" from around 23:00 onwards, each pizza takes around 20 seconds to create. Charge 80 -100 baht (or whatever the hungry drunks are happy to pay). Cash out and go home by 1 a.m. with 2000-3500 baht in your pocket for maybe 90 minutes "work". Sleep. Wake up, day at your leisure before preparing the next batch, ~3 hours in late afternoon. Repeat as above. PS: Queue the work permit pedants among us.
  19. Is that by way of an admission of your poor lifestyle choices and lack of due diligence in past relationships? Or are all women to be avoided like the plague because of their gender?
  20. I truly believe that Iran wants to wipe the Jews off the face of the map and the only thing that's holding them back is a lack of capability.
  21. That's almost as far-fetched as suggesting he be arrested for "inciting an insurrection."
  22. Tamales. Tacos are for the white folks, but making fresh tamales and serving them up to the Hispanic migrant manual labor force on their way to work at an intersection in Northwest Houston was another little gold mine.
