  1. Yet another member setting themselves up for a torrid four years.
  2. You are setting yourself up for a torrid four years then.
  3. There's absolutely no restriction on the private citizens of the world availing themselves of the same benefits of AI to ensure they aren't encumbered or otherwise disadvantaged by any actual changes to any countries' application of tax laws and regulations.
  4. Hasselblad's first commercial availability was in Germany about 75 years ago.
  5. Sounds like maybe someone's looking for a link to a website? Maybe after an online subscription?
  6. Ignoring your repetitious speculation of what you think may happen (again), filing a tax return is a big deal if one's local RD says that you don't need, don't qualify for, or simply refuses to give you a TIN. PS: I'm not a Englander.
  7. Not quite. They have a third choice and that is to ignore the panic merchants wittering away about what may but probably won't eventuate. After 24 pages of tax-panic that's based on a total lack of official information, this thread is only being kept afloat by groundless scaremongering and conjecture. The limited and questionable entertainment value has already evaporated.
  8. The Thailand Revenue Dept does not have that authority. Never has had that authority and never will. Please curb your double-exclamatory enthusiasm.
  9. Maybe she's pulled this bat<deleted> crazy stuff before? Sounds like counselling is needed but there's only so much that shots of lao khao can do. Oops, looks like they have "pain" issues and are self-medicating. As Fred Flintstone famously advised, "Yaba daba do!"
  10. Everyone's at it, apparently. The (former) Washington Redskins. The (former) Cleveland Indians. Only a matter of time before the Chiefs have to get PC. (sad)
  11. I have been enlightened, thanks. Never had the need to book a "lifeboat" before arriving so interesting to know that they're available. I am sure that those with a dire need for such assistance will already have the contact info required. I've never seen it mentioned, but then again, I'm not looking for it.
  12. You can do a virtual OGUK medical online and get a certificate. We just just had a joining crew member renew theirs online through a UK company with the participation of our on site Medic. It was accepted by both his employer and our client. I think the cost was around £150. google is your friend
  13. Udon Thani town traffic is bad on the daily rush hours and all-day at weekends, same as pretty much any other major Thai conurbation and especially Pattaya. The dining choices are far more varied these days, western, Korean, Japanese, Indian... there's even some genyoowine Isaan tucker!! Of course, if driving and parking for dinner is too much of a faff about or even if one can't be arsed to rustle-up something in one's own kitchen, there's delivery and, even in bad traffic, that's pretty fast (unless it's raining).

  15. So you asked a date about her politics? You poor thing. I guess you had already sussed out that third-base was unlikely, let alone a home-run, so decided to pull the pin on that time-served date fragmentation grenade of the "who did you vote for?" question. Anyway, I must remember to use that next time and maybe avoid waking up with another Coyote Ugly due to my own "complicated socio-sexual reasons".

  17. I much prefer the Tomahawk Chop hand gesture when alluding to Tonto and those of that ilk. But, I have been mistaken for a Houston Texans fan for doing it, so as always, context remains paramount.
  18. They do? My understanding from multiple 'Help! I am in IDC now'! threads on here is that if an IO at either decides against allowing you to enter, you're toast. If there's "Mr Fixit" agent option at either airport, it's the first I've heard of it. That doesn't include the many, many 'I was almost denied entry!' threads from those gushing sorts with a low threshold of excitement, boring us with irrelevancies.
  19. Saying quite a lot about you? Yes. Lifestyle comparisons between Muang Udon Thani and Pattaya, maybe not so much? I did the whole, wild hedonistic Pattaya decade back in the 1980's. Unforgettably great but I digress. After a total 16-year Thailand hiatus, I returned around 2006 and did Pattaya 2013-2018 as the filling in an Udon Thani "sandwich". I much prefer the sumptuous Issan bread to the cloying Pattaya sandwich spread. But that's just me.
  20. Papafarang's pies in Kutchap, west of Muang Udon Thani. Well worth the pilgrimage.
  21. For the lovers of acronyms among us, DEI is DOA
  22. Meaning what exactly? Meaning @BMW Overlander is offering nothing much of substance.
