Is it illegal to leave the house without wearing underpants in Thailand?
I used to do soccer classes. One of my coaches did a sit down group on the grass one day where we sit on the ground. He had on some loose shorts. The kind like an under armour type material but very short like boxers. His snake was hanging out to put it bluntly. i realized much later, but not at the time, that it was probably not a mistake, but intentional. If anything, being much older, a dead giveaway would be realized through the giggles and laughter by various members of the group.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
With relatives living all over that’s not living stag. Stag means you arrived alone and don’t know anybody. Your meeting people cold turkey and it does not involve paying for anything or supporting anybody financially.

I think if you do it solo the locals turn not as friendly. My guess is at best they ignore you. Making friends with Thais while living there stag would be very difficult.

just a reminder, they will ******* kill you
Yep, that’s weird. They are always in those closed traffic booths. I never see them actively patrolling. It’s like they only respond and are not proactive.

just a reminder, they will ******* kill you
Just dropping two quick tips: 1. Always walk on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic, not with your back to oncoming traffic. You can jump out of the way if a vehicle is headed straight towards you. *Many drunks will veer into the emergency lane and you can see them coming. 2. When your walking and passing other pedestrians, the person with their back to oncoming traffic passes on the outside (towards the curb) and you pass (when it’s safe) on the inside (towards the street). You can see vehicles coming, they can’t. I’m surprised how many people don’t get this simple concept even on sketchy narrow roads.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
I wonder if immigration can refuse exit from the country if back taxes were not paid? They do that in the USA in exceptional cases, the IRS invalidates your passport so you can’t leave.

The Riviera Project at Jomtien
There’s also not much around there. You have a big major street in front, only a few eateries & not many markets. You could walk easily to the beach and eat down there or at the Jomtein night market, but it would get repetitive if done every day long term (they sell the same food every night). There’s another outdoor market down the road near immigration but it’s probably too far to walk with a bunch of groceries, (especially during the daytime in the heat) and too far to walk to the eateries there every time you need a meal. You would probably need a motorbike unless you’re a serious walker and you can’t carry much on a motorbike. Best thing to do would be to walk to the beach and catch the baht bus up and down. It’s doable, but it’s not like living in a central area, it’s kind of a trek doing it every day. Thats why I chose to live in center. It’s not worth it to go that far for necessities on a daily basis long term unless you had a car.

Multiple entry tourist eVisa for Vietnam
Can you bounce in & out on the 90 day all year, or do they limit you? I could bounce into Cambodia or Thailand every 90 days. I guess like everything else it’s hard to know and it keeps changing.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
Possible to do Cambodia half time and new Vietnam 90 day other half of the year?? I did not think cambodia and Vietnam were really “dangerous” but you need some street smarts and not be a total goofball. i ruled out Malaysia, what was it you need a million or so, I don’t remember. Loas is too weird for me and would not be comfortable living there long term, although the people were friendly. Burma is out, don’t want to get shot in the head. Theres also Guam, us citizens can stay forever, no visa. I just checked it, rents are high, about the same as the USA. Nice island, beaches and clean water.
