  1. Not if they are getting medical treatment!
  2. Most profits are made on drinks anywhere you go, not food. When you order a good server always pushes drinks, preferably right when you sit down before looking at the menu.
  3. They will learn to complain well you shrimp when all the seafood is gone. Not eaten, just stacked on the plate so other’s don’t get it!
  4. The cafe lets them do it because they don’t get near the buffet.
  5. A bunch of overweight sweaty guys in a male only bath. No thanks.
  6. Most of them are doing condo tours now so anything new helps!
  7. Can’t you read? “That small upper roof section would likely be closed off during the tour for the a/c.”
  8. Meh, looks like they are sealed for the Chinese/Japanese. I do like the older open air ones. To much to ask for here I guess, people are kind of spoiled and need the a/c everywhere. That small upper roof section would likely be closed off during the tour for the a/c.
  9. Live under a bridge and eat rice. It’s cheap.
  10. I disagree. I waited hours one time when the lady did not call out my name clearly. She had a really low voice and would not speak up. They need one of those number light boards like the bank has.
  11. Also, many places are using those air conditioned room enclosures now. They are for Japanese, Chinese etc that don’t like eating in the open air with fans. I call them Covid incubators. I won’t go in there ????
  12. It looks like Netflix is allowed now. Did they unblock that?
  13. Safety is a major factor. Being in your retirement years in South America is not very safe for an older foreigner who is viewed as wealthy by local standards. You can’t fight and move around well if needed. Equator seems to be Ok. Most countries if you live in a cheap area to save on costs it’s very dangerous. Thailand is special in that regard, it’s affordable but there’s no real threat to personal safety.
  14. Do they offer used gold crowns? I hate paying full price.
  15. There is a plastic bag problem here. Get a re-usable bag. Get it?
  16. It’s not rocket science, just don’t buy anything.
  17. It was my understanding that only new items were taxed, not used. https://www.customs.go.th/cont_strc_simple.php?ini_content=individual_F01_160426_01&ini_menu=menu_individual_submenu_02&lang=en&left_menu=menu_individual_submenu_02_160421_01????????‍♂️
  18. I remember a fair bit of comments from people who say they can’t get insured at all in the upper age brackets. Maybe because they are not grandfathered in early on a policy that is renewable for life and never miss a payment?? For me that would require being so close to the USA that I could just jump over quickly and cheaply for something serious. Kind of like what Brit’s do here when they go back to the Uk.
  19. Sounds like Mexico is a better option for me if health premiums are going up that high in Thailand as I get older, someone said $1000 usd a month. That would basically make Mexico cheaper to live in. I could also just hop across the border if I had something serious like cancer and get treatment in the USA. I don’t need to be in Thailand in my 60’s. My sex drive would be gone by then (pretty much is now) and i would not want to be hopping around as much.
  20. My guess is you won’t like it as much as before. Things have changed, a lot of stuff is online, people staring at their phones. Bar fines feel old fashioned.
  21. Ditto. They are pretty good at keeping to themselves.
  22. Implants can get infected. Use as a last resort.
  23. Does mexico accept medicare as a visa requirement, or do I need to be self insured?
