I think those crackdowns were only for sketchy schools where people did not show up for classes and still got the visa. Try a reputable school like Walen. Something happens do a border bounce and switch to a Muay Thai school.

Also the junk in 7-11’s on every corner & family marts. That’s where a lot of people are snacking, not fast food restaurants. The only thing I can find in there that’s nutritious is the frozen case with the microwave meals. Kudos that they heat these up for free.

I think the arbitrary pricing only happens if there is no invoice. Just put an invoice or receipt inside the package so they see that. Look up the % charged on that website. That would be good enough for me.

Anything would need to go through a Cambodian carrier. They have the whole espionage thing there. Some foreigner jailed for flying drones awhile back. Not sure what became of him.That rules out stuff like starlink.

I may recommend siem reap in that case. I was pretty happy there. One plus was that people tend to leave you alone so it feels more “normal” compared to Thailand, whatever that means. Less like people are catering to you, hovering over you, watching you, etc. There it’s more like they don’t care as much. There are some nice places and houses along the river not far from downtown. It feels and smells more like jungle which was a plus for me. I guess if something medical non-emergency happened you could fly to Bangkok pretty quickly and easy from the airport.

I lived in siem reap a year or two. You can make it work as an expat if you don’t need medical. There’s just not a lot to do after seeing the temples and sitting in eateries. Many people end up just drinking in bars.

How do they lose weight taking a dumb motorbike everywhere. You need to be outside exercising to lose weight just like people anywhere would. In other words, walking places daily and not just sitting around.

The problem is you’re still digging a hole trying to get the money back. It’s just as bad as the loan was. You would be dealing with another Thai and the Thai system which sucks money and does not work well for a foreigner. Learn the lesson. Money stays where it is in the home country and you withdraw as needed.

They eat more often, but much less food then people in more affluent countries. You need to look at what they are actually consuming, not just time sitting at a food stall. The USA for example has large meals with large portions. In Thailand it’s just a bowl of soup or a side of rice or several dishes spread out but there’s not much food there. If I ate here like I did in the USA I would need 2 or 3 dishes at each meal, not one.

Many guys need a caretaker. The women turns into a kind of mother figure who negotiates everything, speaks Thai to vendors,, leads the guy around, etc while the guy does nothing. It’s pretty repulsive.

Try the ‘Full Dick Inn Management Company’. They seem very popular.

Most gays from the Usa would goto Mexico if they moved from, say the San Francisco Bay Area or Florida, or anywhere else really if they wanted to leave the states. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is REALLY gay, along with many of the other resort towns as well. If your a single guy there you would likely be viewed as gay and not there for women. I think Thailand could see some traffic as well but most gays from the USA would not really be comfortable in Thailand, at least not the younger hip affluent crowd. Thailand is too grungy for them. Maybe some of the older gays would come. I saw some in patpong in Bangkok but they seemed out of place in a way. Most would go someplace like Mexico. I think there are some living in Jomtein as well near boyztown. I think the fairies would come to Asia, maybe, but not the flamers. Flamers would like Mexico better.

Fairy or flamer, depending on the personality. Flamer - More aggressive, possibly violent if slighted. Homosexual acting, obvious, flaunting, loud. Fairy - Submissive, quiet, subdued, homosexual acting, can be feminine. Straight Edge - Homosexual, but heterosexual or neutral acting. You can’t really tell unless you study them closely over time. There’s usually some sort of facial expression that gives it away.
