  1. Nice summary. I could not find anything like this before now. The embassy website for the visa is just a mass of confusion with links all over and confusing info.
  2. No bag is best, next comes reusable bags. Paper next best. Recycled plastic next (I think). Discarded plastic last. Trees grow back and paper turns into soil again (it just takes a long time).
  3. The way to fix that is by using a paper bag, not charging for plastic bags.
  4. One of the worst gimmicks ever, bag charging. I'm not sure why it was implemented. Corporate could just raise prices on a few things, still give the bags for free, and eliminate a daily hassle for everyone at the checkout each time. You would also drop the time for people waiting in line, confusion over the charge, and nickel and dime perception of the brand and store.
  5. The elephant in the room is that a lot of stuff is not done correctly here, no matter what it is. That's why it's better to just wait until things settle down. Otherwise, you just get the parking lot guy (in many different scenario's).
  6. Then say nothing. If you want to talk nonsense make sure I'm not around. Just go away ????
  7. No, I'm like the British. I carry my manners, tea and civilization with me through the jungle.
  8. I'm a man. When you speak to me you speak to me as a man using my name. If you don't know my name you ask. If you don't want to ask my name then you address me as Mr. or Sir.
  9. I would just book on airbnb. That way you know what your getting. Searching around for a place for that short a time ain't worth it. What you like and what someone else recommends are totally different.
  10. Thanks for dropping in and let us know how Hawaii is when you get a chance. ????
  11. I think the flu vaccine is new every year. The strains change every year.
  12. They used to have those fax machines that "spoke" to each other in chirping sounds. If you answered the phone you would hear chirping and you usually hung up the phone, the machine would call back and you just don't answer and the fax machine picked it up. Some people could connect them the first time while they were on the line, but not me.
  13. I think the spirit houses on property are meant for spirits of deceased relatives because traditionally the land would be passed down. They could be partially for just spirits inhabiting the land though. There's other stuff like spirits in trees and boats etc but the Thai's do other things for them like tying those colorful scarfs around the trunks of trees and on the bow of the old wooden fishing boats. There is a crematorium in Chiang Mai where families have put up hundreds of spirit houses around a large tree by the enterance. The spirits probably flew towards the closest large tree after the service so they put many spirit houses there. It is very beautiful.
  14. I think the Thai's were isolating people if anybody in your group was positive. That could mean in the shuttle to the hotel, in the economy section, the exact criteria seems vague. Are they still doing that? That puts your chances way up for isolation.
  15. A specific person or entity needs to be mentioned for defamation. My post refers to many couples in general.
  16. A lot of couples come for three-somes, or other sexual experimentation as a couple where they need outside participants. There are a lot of sexual clubs, S&M, Bondage, etc. in the city that you don't find elsewhere. It sounds like a regular holiday but when it's Bangkok it's usually not just for the hotel or rooftop bar, especially if it's a repeat visit.
  17. I wonder if the husband was pressured by the Dr to leave? I can see a Thai Dr being kind of blunt and stressed out, add in the language barrier, and the husband getting frustrated and just giving up. Sounds like they won't be returning anytime soon ????‍♂️
  18. If the Spirits have nowhere to go of their own, they go into your house on the land and cause trouble.
  19. I'm not 100% sure, but I do have a book coming out titled "Meeting Girls In Bars & Clubs". My helpful tips provide guys in need the confidence they need in successfully "Meeting Girls In Bars & Clubs". There is also a appendix on pick up lines you can quickly master to improve your confidence and meet girls in almost any bar or club you go into.
  20. I agree. What ends up happening for a lot of guys is it just becomes easier to pay for it and you somehow find a way to do that. Relationship skills due suffer over time with such a lifestyle. Once the tension is off, for most younger guys, there's not a lot of need there to develop a stronger bond. Another drawback is you may want the long term relationship stuff when your much older but it's hard to find somebody when your elderly because you start looking better with your shirt on and you have only a bunch of fleeting encounters and no deep ties.
  21. It could also be because there is something wrong with you. Some defect. So Pattaya levels the playing field and gives you an edge up regarding women even if your young and rich you could have a lot of baggage or issues and still need a leg up.
