When family got that way with me I simply stopped responding and no longer allow the messages through. It’s worked out great so far ????????‍♂️, but I guess some holiday I will have to face the music if they are still intent. Nothing a couple glasses of wine won’t fix for another 11 months of peace.

It also gives people a chance to order a quality beer, if available. They can get more stock in as demand rises. I think many guys just order a Leo or a Chang because there’s no menu and it’s easier to just have the staff understand “Leo” after walking around in the sun all day. Always wondered why these top blokes were sitting there with cheap beers.

If there’s no price menu they can charge whatever they want at the end. I’d rather know beforehand, especially if it’s not just one beer and I’m there for awhile. Most places will put out the chit for each drink, but it’s after I order. They don’t all have the same 4 beers. Some places have tiger, others don’t, one may have corona or beer Lao, others don’t. With no menu I am drinking Leo instead of the beer Lao just because it’s an easy understood order. I could go look in the freezer myself which I sometimes do. You get the idea.

Why do the bars not offer a menu when I go in? I sit down and a lady comes promptly but there is no way of me knowing which kind of beer they have, if they offer mixed drinks, and what the prices are. When I ask there is always a confused discussion with a language barrier. Do they do this to get people to just order without thinking about it? It’s odd because every restaurant always has the menu right there when I go in.

Tell him nothing. It’s not his business. Does he do it to Thai customers, no, he just drops off and leaves. You deserve the same respect. Thailand is a class society. Taxi guys, maids, delivery guys, are lower on the scale then customers. Overly friendly chit chat on the job is a way of bringing you down to their level and you lose respect if you do it. if he baits you and you get annoyed you’re drawn down as well. Just a thank you and door gets shut.

That’s what I thought. Long haul flights people just switch if there are empty seats around. One flight was nearly empty and people were sleeping in rows. I would not do it into a premium seat though if it was marked as such and I did not pay for the upgrade. Ditto for going into another section like first class.

They probably wedged a piece of metal between the penis and the ring, then cut it from the outside. The metal plate protected his penis from the blade at the end when the cut was almost complete. The landlord is straight, not gay??

I was in a home goods store yesterday that sells only kitchen stuff, pots & pans etc. An older foreigner was shopping in there with his Thai partner. She kept saying loudly “it’s not expensive, it’s only 10 baht!”. She was trying to get him to agree to purchase some small utensil or something ????.

2 months is nothing. I would just do an Airbnb.

I only ever used the machines in the past when it was too far for me to carry water home from the store. It’s not worth the risk to save 40 baht or so a gallon when it’s drinking water. It’s reasonable to assume that a big plant has better filters and equipment then a small machine because they can afford it.

Yeah that's weird when your going through a third party and your not in direct contact with the landlord. My place is like that also. I can't get the actual landlords contact information and only have their signature on the lease. So it cuts off communication and you can't really tell who knows what and who has refunded what. For all you know the landlord paid the manager the deposit refund and they just kept it. Some realtors do this also, they are really managing the property, not just sales agents, so you need to go through them the whole time. You make payments through them but the contract says refunds are at the discretion of the landlord.

of course it attached to a water pipe. it's fed by municipal water that gets put through filters and i think a uv light contained within the machine.

A lot of those programs are hard to access when you most need them, at least in the USA. They are bureaucratic nightmares. They sound good in theory.

I don’t think the lease matters much. It’s just a piece of paper. It never goes to court.

I’m thinking people are nicer the further North one goes because it’s not so hot. The cooler weather makes a big difference in a persons mood. Not so tired, not dripping with sweat, etc.

You could stop paying rent. When asked say you need a TM30 ????. Not sure how great an idea that is.

Do they ask about finances, like how do you pay your way or pay the rent?

Do they want to come inside the residence or can I step outside the door?

Are these checks done on condo’s?

I have lived in both Pattaya & Chiang Mai and am finding the Thai people in Pattaya very unfriendly or even nasty. Especially, but not solely, in places like banks, immigration or other offices like that. Has anyone else noticed that? Or am I just running into the wrong people? Maybe it has something to do with Covid? What I would compare it to is living in Chiang Mai in the 5 years or so before Covid hit. I'm considering moving back to the North of Thailand as soon as possible because of this. Then I find a family restaurant run by an Isaan family smack dab in the middle of Pattaya and it's like a breathe of fresh air. Felt like home with nice people again.
