  1. The store reports they did nothing, just a random rampage for no reason. Yeah, right. What’s the real story here?
  2. It’s strange how fellow Americans say I’m from America when they are in Thailand. Nobody says that normally, it’s the United States. I think they answer that way because Thais only understand America.
  3. The itty bitty titty committee.
  4. Every time this subject is mentioned people come out and give excuses why they are in Pattaya and mention a bunch of odd activities that could be found anywhere, and much easier elsewhere. It sounds like a husband making excuses why he needs to go into town or stay out late. Honey, I need to meet my colleagues at a convention tonight. I was just out for a few beers and they chose walking street, not my decision. ????????‍♂️
  5. A lot of guys don’t have sex at all. They just talk, laugh and chitchat. When “you’re” retired sometimes the “drive” for strenuous activity is not what it “used to be”. There are pills that can “help”, but they are not without risks, including prolonged “woody’s” lasting for over 4 hrs. If this happens to you please see “your” doctor.
  6. One thing that’s strange about Pattaya is it equates fun with loud. I never got that, anywhere really, except for my teenage years when I went to rock concerts, but even then it was about the music, not volume. The yelling and loud music does not make things more enjoyable for me, but I guess some people like it.
  7. So why not Hua Hin? It has hospitals and mostly everything Pattaya has without the sex scene. It’ also roughly the same distance from bkk. Does a hour or two make a difference or is it just an excuse you use. It’s just an excuse. Your in Pattaya for the sex scene, not a conference room, the beach, temple or grocery store.
  8. A lot of people just go to the easiest locations because it’s easy to find housing, food, etc there, also lots of English spoken. For those who don’t like moving around or are older they just settle in, even if it’s not ideal. So Chiangmai, Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya.
  9. I hate the pratumnak hill area. I went in there once to view a condo for rent. I did not even bother to view the unit, just left. all I remember is wild dogs when walking in on keastesin road, no baht bus, and a bunch of moto guys waiting right in front of the condo enterance waiting to ferry people in and out of the area.
  10. Why do you live in Pattaya then? There are plenty of nicer places to live.
  11. One thing I learned early on here is to stay away from any kind of balcony railing. Many of them are below my center of gravity and not made to protect, rather more decorative in nature.
  12. You go to my condo for entertainment…
  13. It could have been anything, road rage or something else. The thing that feels odd to me is the reports on the victims character and how great a person he was. It could be true, it just seems a bit over the top compared to usual reporting.
  14. One can be an extrovert or introvert. The main thing is to not show all your cards. It’s easier if your introverted because you can deflect questions better. Notice how the comments all mention how he was an engineer, not short of money, worked all over for the railroads, etc. Sounds like he was an open book. Many people don’t like that. They get envious, smile to your face, but keep digging for more info rather than going away. They get angry inside the more success you seem to have but act like they like you. Like a kettle that boils over.
  15. A big reason is that Thailand just looks at money in the bank. Most other countries you need income to qualify. Passive documented income, not just investments or savings. You can be very wealthy and they still want to see a pension, interest statement, dividends, etc. Other countries also often ask for a property purchase or investment in gov’t projects, etc.
  16. I’m not sure, but if I’m ever in that situation I hope your at my side holding my leg.
  17. Starbucks??
  18. If people were really coming over and gossiping around town about it you have a point. I would either not live there or not invite people over I did not trust. Seems unlikely however. In Thailand people rarely lose your face unless they are really mad and spiteful. I’m surprised they did that to him if he was an otherwise good guy. Probably something else going on there. You can get that sort of thing even in a nicer place, it depends on who is invited over. A hi so comes in and it looks like your poor. I think it would be more of a problem in China. Are you Chinese?
  19. I don’t think it was a 180. I think he failed to review the rules before they were released ????
  20. I guess so. I just go in wherever so I don’t really care about the name. Most of the time I don’t remember the names or specific place. How do you go to a specific place after a few beers in a sea of neon, tangled electrical wires and yelling women? Would take all night to find a specific place. If you want to go out just go into anyplace and if you don’t like it just walk out and stumble in to the next place. If you’re searching around that way on your phone or something have a few more beers.
  21. A lot of stuff has closed. Covid I think.
  22. It would still be interesting to know what happened. If there is a fear of that I can’t see how there would be balls for a lawsuit.
  23. Caring what other people think was not a factor for me and never considered. It’s all about what works for me. If you go down the impress other people road what you have is ever enough.
  24. I don’t think this is going away. Feels like the vaccine requirement will become more strict from here in various ways. People may need it to travel around, that and some form of digital id or facial recognition on your phone.
