  1. Reads like the Op is in the wrong country. Hunky dory feel good story, but in my case without the "beautiful polite immigration lady" and with a big fine. 😄 If you just don't do it there are implications. You will be fined. Also, if you get a home visit or get into contact with an official anywhere you risk them finding out it's not done. What happens from there is anyone's guess. Hopefully you get that great officer you imagined last time.
  2. Most guys that like Pattaya can't stand CM because the code on acceptable behavior still lingers in the North.
  3. It's all about saving money. I would move out of this dump tomorrow if I could afford to buy a house in my home country.

How many people do you know in Thailand that discuss important questions? More like haha, have another beer, goofyness, etc. The forum is a reflection of that.
  5. Some crappy hotel. Don't remember the name or location. 🤣
  6. He could be cranking later on though.
  7. Good point, not many Thai's are retired and they would be much older. That means if they are not working they are going to want money from you at some point. On the other hand, if you're dating someone who is working, you're going to be alone (or working yourself) a lot of the time anyway. The lifestyles and interests are fairly different between those two things. So you could be retired and dating working women but there may not be much in common. For example, you're sitting around the pool with beers when she gets off work and may not want to hear about her day at work. Or, when you goto a dinner party and people ask what you do you tell them I sit by the pool and drink all day and they all sneer at you.
  8. I meant to say they require the TM30 hard copy, not TM47.
  9. No, all photo's. How do I file a 90 day report in person (not online) if I'm moving and will be at an Airbnb? Just go into immigration and report the hotel address? Or do I need a letter from the hotel? No hotel I know gives out TM47 slips. Jomtein had a sign up saying 90 day reports require owner id etc and a hard copy TM47. How is that possible for temporary visitors? Or do they just let it slide for most people, but not everybody??
  10. Is there an issue if I get stopped by the police or immigration at some point (like a check on sukhumvit or in a nightclub or a home visit) if I can't file the 90 day report? Any possible detention while they figure where I am staying? It says to carry a copy of the 90 day report in with the passport so that's why I ask?
  11. Was re-entering on an active O-A visa to get the second year. No re-entry permit. Still at same address just went to Cambodia. I also had a copy of my existing TM30 with me. Not good enough. I reported to 90 day counter then was directed to info booth. Second guy at info both pointed to the date on TM30 which was last June and said something I did not understand. Then he presented me with a new application requesting blue book, owner's id and all the rest of it for a new TM30.
  12. More then irritating. I missed my 90 day report because I could not get a new TM30, so the next time I go into immigration I will be fined.
  13. I went in for my 90 report at Patttaya and they needed an updated TM30?? This was for a new entry into the country which requires an initial in person 90 day report. I had the same address as when I exited with a TM30 from last year. Is that correct that a new TM30 is required for each entry? Officer at front desk did not speak english well.
  14. Well, let's see. Men are expected to pay, typically. So if I go out for a meal that costs 150 baht, it doubles to 300 or so. Times that by 2 or 3 times per day, every day. Thst's just for meals. I think Thailand is getting more westernized though, maybe more people around willing to go dutch these days.
  15. Too expensive. It basically doubles my expenses.
  16. Pattaya can be that way. Maybe try Hua Hin if it bothers you.
  17. Different restaurants each time.
  18. Yep, Bangkok has many more people who are thinking more and have interesting ideas. Not just giving up and getting drunk. One really has to be Ok with being retired to like Pattaya imo, or just a hardcore pleasure seeker as a lifestyle.
  19. I don't like eating off the same menu each time.
