  1. Why would someone get a male dr for a prostate exam?
  2. Because he could not find interests where he was, or he was not interested in what the location offered. Location matters. He's an interesting person in a boring environment.
  3. A lot of the people on this forum would say you would be bored anywhere, that it's you. Is that true or are you less bored now then you were before?
  4. Many blokes end up staying where they are simply because they get old quick. It's hard to relocate as a bloke who is getting older. Notably... Body aches Weight gain Frequent urination Lack of testosterone Unwanted body changes Lack of sexual desire & drive... Can make it difficult for a bloke to take initiative and drive with it. A bloke just ends up staying where it's easy even if it's not the location they prefer.
  5. The Op is not ready to retire. The feeling of being useful vs the feeling of wallowing. That's what vacations are for, a break in the routine.
  6. They don't need to and are in n' out. They are still going to get a dick the short time they are here though, soon forgotten when they leave.
  7. You mean officers? Why don't you just not answer the door and pretend you are not home?
  8. Is he capable of handling a move abroad in this day and age if he can't use a computer or smart phone? I guess it's still possible to use hard copies for everything and get your information from a newspaper, but it would be difficult.
  9. You will end up interacting with people that are dicks much more often, especially Thai's. Just the language barrier day in and day out at a popular restaurant is enough to make most people snap eventually. I'm seeing it all the time in Pattaya.
  10. I flew out via air from Bkk when I did mine. The travel agent services from pattaya felt sketchy at best. A couple places told me vans only go if fully booked then I get transfered to another service if underbooked, etc. I was afraid of delays or over/under booking on the vans. They are also very rushed and disorganized when you book. Could not miss the date on my crossing since another year was at stake.
  11. I don't think elite was really either to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure the smart visa flopped, at least in terms of numbers. At least I don't know anyone on it. It appears as if Thailand is trying to attract wealthier and "smarter" people with new visas, but that may not work well if the country is not otherwise desirable to those types of people. Another way of putting it may be that those types of people have their choice of women in their home countries and don't needed affordability in a foreign country.
  12. Have you noticed that when you talk to anybody they always need to consult someone else? It's not individual at all. It's a lack of individual initiative, so they always have a multiple non-agreeing scenario.
  13. I don't think there are many legit "digital nomads" in thailand. In the corporate world those are legit employees, typically with large corporations, that have allowed certain employees to work remotely. Not really self-employed people. I could see them wanting a verification letter from an employer for the visa.
  14. Yes, it is. Buh bye!
  15. Do I need to tell the Pattaya immigration office when I move to Bangkok, or do I just move?
  16. Some of us don't live on a bed. We like things like tables, chairs and desks. I even splurge on a patio chair and house plant.
  17. It's odd to put a 5 year validity on a visa that is only good for 180 days. Most people don't need a 5 year window to plan a 6 month visit. That's why many people are thinking it's good for 180 days each year for 5 years.
  18. You're just able to ignore what you don't like is my guess. Like you say, wallpaper. I believe you, really. I can't do that. The negatives become an irritant to me, even when I don't engage with them directly. Just being in proximity bothers me and I do notice it as I pass by and I feel the energy from it and it's draining. Kind of like guy from India watch sellers, some guys just tune them out completely, other guys naturally respond on some level and it irritates them, other guys actually like the dudes and buy a watch. I think you are the former type of guy. A good lesson for people considering Pattaya, know thyself!
  19. They won't move. You will need to ignore or learn to like the complaining. It will be more difficult to remain positive the longer you are here. When you are around negative people you eventually become negative yourself. You become a "negative nellie". I can feel it effecting you even now. The happiness is being slowly chipped away with each complaining post you read.
  20. Misery likes company. Pattaya is full of miserable people who choose to live there = Pattaya is miserable. If you like happy places and happy people it's you who is better off just moving. You're not going to change Pattaya by finding bright spots here and there, though I will admit threre might be enclave areas that are Ok. Trending on twitter now folks:
  21. People jumping off balconies left & right? Pattaya flying club? Yes, they could have other problems, but they are living in pattaya. The place is also full of alcoholics. Why are they drinking so much if they are happy?
  22. Yeah, the tropical weather is going to grow stuff real fast in things that are not maintained well.
