  1. Do you live at VT?
  2. I had a weird incident in VT2B where I saw an elderly foreigner guy just sitting on his bed with the door open, staring at the TV which was off. I think he was mentally ill. He never saw me, just stared straight ahead. Also, I had a problem with a mentally ill lady trying to open my door each night. I asked security to pull up the CCTV tapes, but they knew who she was and said she was mentally ill and just did that all the time. I think they get a lot of older people who are nutjobs in the VT's. Not sure why. Maybe it's just the easiest place to end up if you're not real picky. It reminded me of the single occupancy hotels I stayed at briefly when I first moved to new york city for school and was looking for a regular apartment. People can't afford climate control so you see and hear a lot of "humanity", open windows and open doors for ventilation, people in their boxer shorts, etc. There are also a lot of single lonely people who kind of want to interact with other residents but don't really know how, or they don't just want to be in a closed door room and there are not a lot of common spaces and facilities to hang out in. Better places have pools, pool rooms, libraries, etc.
  3. A lot of it is stopping and doing selfies at designated locations, then posting it to social media. It becomes like a family album you can look at back at home. They don't have much time so they quickly enjoy the designated spot and are quickly bussed to the next location. It's set so people have an experience of being there, but are back in time for work after several days or a week or so.
  4. Correct. In Thailand they won't say I don't know how to do it or I don't have the correct modern equipment. They will just try the best they can (like with old school files instead of the spray and microscope). Best case usually is they might make a benign excuse to not do it for some reason, or if you're lucky refer you to a specialist (Endodontist). Let us know what the endodontist said and did.
  5. The tour buses are constant on third road. I'm not sure where all those people are going. To hotels I guess. It's koreans, chinese, some vietnamese, india, etc. I see the signs in the window. There is usually a guide standing up and talking on a microphone inside the coach.
  6. I'm looking at Mexico. Can get temporary/permanent residency easily if you not completely broke and even get a second passport and qualify for the national healthcare system. Am trying to get the visa directly from the Bangkok embassy.
  7. Somebody please help me, it's too hot 🤣
  8. Yep, that's probably where the complaints are from, low end living. Those small cheap places that seem "Ok" until the heat hits, the neighbors get unruly, or it's too crowded. Are you in a small sweatbox room? My bill is 600 baht a month, but I can afford a place with balconies and airflow. Maybe time to get a better place. I never use a/c, just fans. You can apply that 3k a month for a better place and not need a/c. If the heat still bothers you anywhere, maybe it's time to move to a more temperate climate. Unless, you like sitting inside all day and hanging out at the shopping mall.
  9. Strange that the guard has zero self defense training. He just throws a locker room punch. Even club bouncers know how to restrain people without getting into a punching match. It's not that difficult, just restraint 101.
  10. Is it possible for a midget to buy half a seat on an airline?
  11. Stuck in na jomtein in an area with no easy food access where you need a motorbike or out in a field somewhere. If that worked we would all be there.
  12. They don't like what you like. Many Thai's like noise, commotion, crowds and traffic. The sooner you understand this, the sooner you can decide if you will be happy here or if you need to look for a new place. Don't get angry about it like they messed it up. To them it's being done correctly, or just needs to be continually fixed.
  13. Moved to another country you mean?
  14. I thought Colin Neil passed away???
  15. It's probably easier to do it yourself, unless you get real lucky. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. Politics is almost never discussed here. Wearing the hat is taboo.
  17. See all those businesses that lay a mat over the metal grill on the sidewalk? (especially massage shops). That's open sewer, not rain drains. They are trying to block the smell.
  18. You probably need to goto a top place in bangkok where the good doctors are. You will need to pay more to get someone who knows what they are doing and save that tooth. Otherwise, you end up like one of those old guys in pattaya at the bar with missing teeth and some quack dentist thinking they know how to do implants.
  19. Or, they could really be straight now and are in a gay closet! 🤣 You are playing head games. Accept who you are at the moment no matter what others think and don't try to get into other people's heads.
  20. Haha! I have two main molars now with root canals and crowns that work fine. In both cases, a dentist told me there was no hope and to pull them! Occured with different dentists, years apart in different countries. Be careful who you listen to! Do movie stars have missing teeth?
  21. They had straight relationships earlier in life, so it's not fair to say they were always gay. Not "coming out of the closet", but just changing.
  22. I have two family members that became gay and we just never talked about it. There was no 'discussion'. They just showed up with their partner one day and we either 'got it' or we didn't. Being adults, we got the hint. Even decades later it's never discussed. The partner is just treated as another family member. Although there is some underlying 'weirdness' there I don't think a verbal discussion would solve anything.
