Dual Retirement Visas - Thailand/Cambodia
The half & half thing gets crazy. How do you rent a decent place and get the deposit back? Just do 6 month contracts? Stay in short term serviced apartments? You're going to be losing money constantly moving around and paying extra for decent short term accomodations, or living like a backpacker in the nearest guesthouse. You may be better off choosing a single country and moving or just paying the tax.

UK Adult Dependent Relative Visa
Maybe better to get her over here sooner rather then later. Several people on here wanted to move parents over but they got old too fast and could not travel, developed dementia, etc.

An Expat Who Left Thailand
It's probably agility as well coupled with the heat/humidity. Personally, I do a lot of walking around, much more then when I lived in the Usa. I guess he could drive everywhere in his truck, but somehow it seems harder to do here. You start getting tired and winded when you get older. Add on some sweaty hot weather, walking on shoulders with traffic and no sidewalks, and it's probably unbearable being really overweight and older. I wonder if he needed a/c a lot? Maybe one of those guys who sits inside with a/c all the time.

Lazada Refund Today.
Point being, it means no refunds for me. Lesson for others is you need to activate your wallet first (if you can) before expecting a refund you can access.
-
Lazada Refund Today.
Won't work. The wallet balance is there but can't activate the wallet when selecting that payment option. My phone number can only be bound to one Lazada account. Only option would be for the prior user to delete their account, or for me to get an unused phone number.

Lazada Refund Today.
I got a refund which could only be sent to the wallet. When I tried to collect someone else had registered my phone number under wallet, so I can't access the funds or apply the credit to future purchases. Only way for me to get access is to get a new phone number that has never been registered before. Under customer support it says my only option is to get a number that has never been previously used then link it to the wallet, over riding the old number. I have always wondered whether the seller got angry and registered my phone number so I would never get the funds, or if in fact thai numbers are reused do often that it was a prior customer. It even had the other guys picture and location in the wallet account when I looked at it. 🤣

Lease Takeover A Good Idea?
Well, there is the deposit. Usually two months deposit. It is not a sublet where the tenant is coming back from vacation later on. They are just bailing altogether and want me to pay the 2 months deposit when moving in.

Lease Takeover A Good Idea?
He actually said it would be a new lease I was to sign when I asked him. I just assumed it was with the landlord and not the tenant. My question was, why would the landlord do a seven month lease if it was really a new lease. Makes no sense why it would have anything to do with the existing lease with the tenant. When I asked the tenant this he never responded back to me. I suspect it was not really a fresh lease with the landlord I was to sign. When I got there the tenant likely would have tried to switch something around to get me attached to his lease somehow with the remaining seven months on it.

An Expat Who Left Thailand
How are you finding work living in a vehicle in the Usa? That's not easy unless you already have a job waiting.
-
An Expat Who Left Thailand
Absolutely. What usually happens is the vehicles break down due to being driven so much and lack of costly maintenance. Motorhomes are very costly to fix once problems happen. They end up just getting parked somewhere on the outskirts of town where it's allowed, with someone living in them, and the rodents out in rural locations chew on the wiring because it's rarely driven. Much of the wiring insulation is soy based, so rats think it's food and it has some nutritional value. Re-doing the wiring can cost more then the vehicle is worth. The desert around Los Angeles is full of these derelict vehicles that people thought they were going to live in as cheap mobile housing. 'Slab City' being the most famous area just outside Los Angeles.

Lease Takeover A Good Idea?
Yeah, it's not worth it. I'm better off just asking for a shorter lease on my own and walking it that's not available. Who needs the aggravation dealing with a third party and their lease problem. Facebook has a whole group "takeover my lease" for anyone that's interested. 🤣

Or turn it into a circus with a group of people, everyone recording on their phones. Pay a group of girls 500 baht each to show up with him make a bunch of noise in the lobby and record. Tell them you need it for a youtube video.

Sky Residences, Pattaya
I tried walking in there when I first came to Pattaya to view a unit. I made it to the building, but did not even bother viewing the unit. No food around and needs a motorbike. That area is not realistically walkable in and out even to the baht bus, though it's possible. Packs of wild dogs/dingo's in that park on the way in/out for one thing. I thought you lived in that area? Or, are you further down near Unixx?

Lease Takeover A Good Idea?
It's being marketed by the current tenant. That's what I'm thinking. Why would the tenant be involved at all? If they wanted out of their lease early seems like they would just bounce the idea off the owner and get their deposit back when the place is re-rented if the owner is flexible. Only reason I considered it is because sometimes if you want out of a lease early the owner will say Ok, but only if you can find a new tenant. I had that situation when I lived in NYC. It's hard finding a short term contract, everyone seems to be asking for a year on the facebook listings. I guess the safe thing to do is ask for the house book of the owner and ID, etc just like on a regular lease,
