  1. I know right? It's almost like being in downtown London.
  2. No, only with credit card over 200b or a True Money account.
  3. And many claim the Thais are racists. 555
  4. Seems you answered your own question with; "There's even a confirmation notice on the counter". Plus there's another thread with the same question/problem you had:
  5. Seems like this thread needs to be moved to the; https://aseannow.com/forum/98-i-drink-too-much-forum/
  6. Well, it's not obvious to me, if all the paperwork was in 100% good order, what "help" was being offered, what reason did the immigration give exactly? If I knew all my paperwork was 100% legit and the person working the desk wanted to try and say I need to pay more money, I'd point out my paperwork is 100% good, no extra payments needed, esp "very large extra requirements", and in a polite but tactful manner ask for the reason, pin that worker down to a reason and go from there.
  7. According to this AN thread about cardless withdrawls, someone posted they were able to do a cardless w/d at a different bank's ATM. Towards to bottom of page 1; "I have used my BKB app for cardless withdrawal from a KTB ATM."
  8. Check the video in the OP link, his injured hand is going all around those hips & backside like a policeman checking a criminal. ????
  9. I still remember hearing about what some thought of the "Puff the magic Dragon" song from Peter, Paul & Mary. Puff – Taking a puff on a joint. Jackie Paper – Paper would describe rolling papers needed to roll joints. By The Sea – It was reworded to “by the C,” with the “C” for cannabis. Mist – Standing for smoke, but also mist covering everything could reference hotboxing. Honalee – Less obvious, but could have stood for “Hashish.” Dragon – Referencing “draggin’” on a joint/pipe and inhaling smoke. Also, dragons breathe fire, referencing the burning of the weed.
  10. AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillator) won't shock someone with a flatline, usually drowning victims suffer from lack of oxygen then the heart just stops.
  11. Are you suggesting we (more like some) stop posting every little thought that pops into our (again, more like some) heads? Oh the humanity.
  12. I've said it before, more speed bump in that area, and more police checkpoints. Tell the bike rental shops to increase the security deposits and when violators are caught, confiscate their bikes and send them down to the police station and have one slow cop that takes a lot of breaks working the fine desk.
  13. I never heard of any taxi service monitoring a client's flight. But yeah, Nam's is always mentioned when it comes to taxi service.
  14. Sounds like you are going the expensive/farang "I know nothing about Thai health care" route. Sure you can get vaccines at the big major hospitals, but you can also get them at the smaller community clinics. Find the one nearest you, go in and ask how much?
  15. No, I'm just posting for the laughs. You think visiting Pattaya and/or BKK 17 times is something to boast about?
  16. I got my yellow book and I live in Pattaya, when I went to the office to ask what was needed, when it came to witnesses, only one was needed, that was about 10 years ago though, so I'm not sure of the current requirements. As far as if it's "worth the effort", I'd say it's 50/50. It's nice to have and it's had some minor advantages over the years, but not a "must have". It helps when asked for a residency certificate or when opening a bank account, and maybe sometimes when entering a national or protected park/area, but it's not a 100% fix all.
  17. Wow, I'm on the edge of my seat, please tell us more.
  18. Wow, you've been to Pattaya 17 times? I'm SO impressed.
  19. There's plenty of animosity & hostility without this thread, just look how quick a simple unassuming post can turn into a argument over the most petty things. I'm still in my younger 60's but if I turn into some old 70ish miserable expat, Thai bashing at ever turn while still choosing to live/visit here, or complaining over the most petty stuff, someone please put me out of my misery.
