  1. Seems like this is perfect AN material, it will generate post after post with members going back & forth as if we're in the courtroom jury.
  2. From the link in the op the son threw a glass bottle and brandished a knife. It wasn't an unprovoked shooting. Sounds to me like the food delivery driver living at his mom's house threw a temper tantrum and started violence. The mother informed her son and Ann, who were on the second floor of the house, about the visitors, provoking her son’s anger. He hurled a glass bottle at the sedan from the second-floor window and exited the house brandishing a knife.
  3. I can't speak for all the waterparks in the Pattaya area, but over the years I've been to the Pattaya Waterpark in Jomtien several times, never had to show any form of ID. In fact I never even brought my wallet, just a pocket full of cash and my telephone and pool related items. Edit; If you find the waterpark locker arrangements unsafe, doesn't that mean you've been in the parks before? Did you have to show ID then?
  4. Used to happen to me, usually in the 7-11, now when I'm standing there and I see someone trying to jump ahead of me, I simply step even closer to the person in front of me, problem solved.
  5. Some posters here crack me up, a crime between a group of Thai teens and a Kuwaiti man, and somehow the posters here turn this into a liberal USA thread, 555. Some of you guys have American liberal's on the mind 24/7.
  6. From the OP; "a police investigation team was patrolling nearby and managed to apprehend one suspect—a 14-year-old Thai teenager."
  7. Look for places that rent by the month, rent is cheaper cause they change your towels & linen only once a week instead of daily like the regular hotels.
  8. Not illegal at all, but if the "nearby police patrol" saw a group of young teenagers out at 3am and stopped them, perhaps they could have see the long weapons they had with them, and prevented the attack.
  9. This may be the situation for you, not for others.
  10. I was thinking after using weapons like the ones shown, a 3 year stay in juvenile work farm is more fitting.
  11. 555, look at my post at the top of the page, I gave my input, and actually agree with your posts. Did you think my "worked up" remark was aimed towards you? (it wasn't).
  12. To see some people get so worked up over an optional form of identification is funny.
  13. I got my yellow book/pink card here in Pattaya (Dark Side Nong Prue Municipality) with only two trips, one to find out what's needed and the 2nd visit to get the yellow book and pink card. I already had all the required official translations of what they asked for and brough 1 witness that lives near me. No hassles, no drama, no ridiculous hoop jumping. SInce then I've used the items to renew my driver's license, open bank accounts, discounts at various attractions. Are they a "must have" item? No, but it was simple enough for me to get and comes in useful from time to time. As with many things in Thailand, "your mileage may vary".
  14. I don't know of the shops but it seems like an easy DIY project, exhaust spray paint available on Lazada; https://www.lazada.co.th/products/800-100-i2882965167-s13106799940.html?from_gmc=1&exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350205_2010350205::12:20624907972!!!!!c!!13106799940!502825672&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnrOtBhDIARIsAFsSe50btsgy61BzVZ8C3lxNTMoShZQEVShS-BgfKGSzSguWp-gQdQBC3cgaAjAzEALw_wcB
  15. For the sounds of it, your situation is different. Does having PR put your name/address on a blue book?
  16. I guess each IO is different, here in Pattaya, they want to see something "official" with your name & address on it, not a Thai's blue book WITHOUT your name. I guess living in the sticks has it's advantages.
  17. For some reason, whenever people use phrases like "as we all know", "everyone is saying", "everyone knows..." I think they are using those phrases to try and convince others. I ain't buying it.
  18. No, and I have a blue book to prove it.....555.
  19. Keep em coming, I enjoy the laughs.
  20. 555, I've been living in Thailand for the past 17 years and never heard of a farang using a blue book, without his/her name in it, to prove where they live. Hence the many questions.
  21. Where did you pull that "fact" out of? 555.
  22. And their database is only as good as the info we give them. So in your mind a blue book WITHOUT the farang's name is good enough to get a CoR?
  23. Yes I understand that, but if the farang's name is not in the blue book, how can the IO determine the farang lives there? What's to prevent the farang from giving ANY blue book?
  24. Good to hear, thanks. Meds in the US are waaaayy too expensive.
