The war is going great
I'm sure the scammers in Minnesota could find a use for 400m a day

On sympathy
That's the first thing I said after hearing the bombers fly over. Get ready for some revenge attacks. That's one. What about the rest of them?

On sympathy
I'm pretty sure that's happening already. Have you seen truthhurts101uk? He has this chat with a UK copper and she says, "But they're fleeing war torn countries!" He says "What France?" She just shrugs. In another video, he tells the police that there's 100s of illegal immigrants in the hotel behind her. She says "What do you want me to do to about it?" In another video there's two guys sitting outside a migrant hotel. He asks where they came from. They say Vietnam. A guy in the comments says "I just came back from a holiday there!"

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Do you know why that happened? Yeah sorry. I was just getting confused by it all. This is the part I misunderstood.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Which airline do you suggest and from which airport?

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Oh ok. So I need the onward ticket to apply for the SETV? That part went over my head earlier. I've been asked a few times at Heathrow for proof of onward travel but I've never had it. I just said I'll be getting an extension and they let me on. I wasn't thinking about the Thai embassy.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
If I've arranged a retirement visa in Thailand, why would i want to go to Saigon?

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
I'm planning to do the same thing myself. But he sounds a bit mad flying back and forth to England every few weeks. He could have been spending two weeks in neighbouring countries and saved thousands on air fares. My question for Dr Jack (or anyone else) would be, can I fly in with an SETV and a booked appointment for a retirement visa with an agent, without an onward ticket? If I'm going there to retire, it seems a bit silly booking an onward flight. Another question is, how can they force you to fly back to England? What right do they have to say you can't go to Cambodia instead?

The heat is on British expat property owners in Spain
I saw a documentary about the locals in Ibiza who are forced to live in caravans and such like because the foreigners who want to party for 8 months a year fill up all the properties . I'd be pissed off too if a bunch of drugged up hippies took over my village. Don't even get me started on Benidorm. What a <deleted> show that place is. If you want to live abroad, the least you can do is make a bit of an effort to fit in.

I tried not to use the air conditioning
No. I mean I lift up the cover, pull out the filters, rinse them under a tap, dry them, then put them back in. It's not rocket science.

What a load of crap. Backpackers have been going to Thailand for decades. You look about 18, if that's you in your pfp, so maybe you wouldn't know that. I'm not yearning to save a few thousand baht btw. As someone else said in the thread, I come to Thailand because I like the heat. And as someone else said, I have a very good through draft in my place so by using my brain, I've created a system which gives me a pretty comfortable temperature for next to no cost. If you want to waste money on AC which creates pollution and heats up the surrounding atmosphere, knock yourself out. Going back to my OP, it's not just people on this forum with that attitude. I've seen it all the Thai forums. Some people think that by spending lots of money, that makes them more important somehow. I believe people like that are only ever seen as marks. And they've created an illusion in Asian that all white men are rich idiots who are easily manipulated. Personally, I prefer to build genuine connections with people and I don't need to throw money around to do that. I've been travelling around Asia for longer than you've been alive so please don't think you can educate me on how to interact with people or tell me where I'm welcome or not.

Let’s Be Honest... Just Between Me & You
Originally I came for the full moon parties in 1991, then I discovered Buddhism, then quite a bit later, I discovered the women. I wouldn't go to a full moon party if you paid me now. I still enjoy Buddhism though and I'm quite partial to a little female company from time to time.

Can anyone beat this for a pretty ladyboy?
Which is why I never stick around for long. The term ladyboy has always been offensive to Western trans people but in my opinion it's a much more accurate description.

I tried not to use the air conditioning
I've seen this attitude a lot on this forum. I always read it as 'Thailand only needs ignorant people who like wasting money'

Can anyone beat this for a pretty ladyboy?
A US marine beat a ladyboy to death in Subic (I think) about 11 years ago. Apparently he didn't appreciate being lied to when he saw the dick. Hmm. Nice wide shoulders and giant man hands Unbelievable that two people downvoted that comment.

I tried not to use the air conditioning
It would probably work, in front of the fan. I had a cabin in the woods for a while with no mains power. I read about hanging wet strips of cloth in the window. It did work but they dry out so fast that it's hardly worth the effort.

I tried not to use the air conditioning
A fan room is $5. AC room is $10. Not exactly free is it. Does that work? I tried putting a bucket of water in front of the fan. That didn't work. When I check into a hotel room, first thing I do is wash all the crap out of the filters because that mould and stuff is nasty. I removed the AC from my condo and sold it. Gets hot at times but my electric bill is usually about $5 a month and I don't feel like I'm stepping into an oven when I go outside.

Best Way to go from Train station to Mochit Bus Terminal.
This is not exactly the answer you're looking for but the motorbike guys have a sign on a post in Chatuchak which says 40 baht to the bus station. I knew this. But when I arrived back at the bus station, I took a bike taxi back to Kampheng Phet and he told me it was 80. I said No it's 40. He said no, 80. I was too tired to argue so I took the ride, got off, pointed at the sign saying 40, he shrugged and rode away. I dont trust grab prices either. They always mysteriously go up during the journey.
