moka pot is better than french press because it does have some pressure. pressure extracts more flavor from the coffee. and I love the sound of brewing the moka pot makes. but I found moka pots to accumulate some kind of residue at the bottom ... calcification? Or whatever it is ... isn't that getting into your coffee? Needs to be cleaned. And I couldnt even figure out how to get rid of it, so went back to French press. Don't buy the crappiest coffee. Buy good coffee and French press is good enough and no cleaning or maintenance needed.

In the previous email, they told me it had to be a minimum duration of 3 months. It's even possible that a different person from the embassy responded this time with a different answer. Embassy seems to be making up rules and that's why it could be problematic. Other embassies will make up different rules. You will need to ask the embassy where you're applying. And how is this information being transmitted to I/Os? It isn't. So for extensions, you will need to wait to get first hand accounts of what I/Os are demanding. You need to follow instructions of the embassy to get the DTV in the first place. Then you will need to learn what I/Os are asking for, which will likely be different, in order to get extensions. This is my understanding.

what percentage of expats are miserable in thailand? -
it's the strangest visa out there i've seen. no other country seems to be combining cooking class options with remote work options. asked the embassy a follow up question. what is the minimum hours per week for cooking classes required to get the DTV? no matter if or what they respond, i'm not convinced the I/O guys will be on the same page and not flag people down. it's probably safer to use the freelancer option for long-term.

I dated a girl who did exactly the same thing. Not once sat on the couch. Used to watch her TV shows on her laptop on the kitchen table. And basically lack of affection. I think it's the way they were raised. It must have been like that in their household growing up. I broke up, but in hindsight, if you put some work into it, you can change her.

not sure it will be a normal election. we've already had the "assassination" thing, which seems to me a prelude of more chaos.

you folks seem to be either more optimistic or having better luck than me so far. I did not like that response I got from the embassy regarding proof of cooking course for 3 months. sounds like an ED visa to me. seems too good to be true that you can continually renew this visa with a single medical appointment. but I don't want to be overly negative and spoil your party. but neither do I think I will be one of the first adopters of this visa. i prefer to wait to see how people get on with it.

Let's have a party, Gamma! https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/1/25/noam-chomsky-bernie-sanders-has-the-best-policies Noam Chomsky: Bernie Sanders has the best policies Renowned academic weighs in on US presidential candidates and their chances, saying elections are “mainly bought”.

you might be right, but how can anyone know for sure at this point? I even tried contacting a cooking school, and they told me to contact immigration. the visa is too new and they dont know how it will be implemented yet. one possibility is that because there are no definitive rules anywhere, it may be at the discretion of the visa officer you get.

not saying he has the perfect system. he is advocating sth similar to what many other western nations have. and at least he's not speaking in tongues / gibberish like kamala.

exactly. and Trump is the role model of dog eat dog capitalism. he owns half of New York city where most people can no longer afford the rent.

Socialism protects people who fall through the cracks of capitalism. So no, the ruling class doesn't benefit.

He's not allowed to run because the elites that run the country don't want to implement those policies. The country is not run by one person, so it doesn't matter who wins the election. Apart from possible hostility and chaos in the streets with this particular election.

Yeah, I had the same concern. My Embassy said for cooking class, I need proof that I will be attending FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS. I dont want to ask them a million questions to annoy them, but I am assuming this applies for every extension. Then, how much will this be enforced? For years, people did not attend classes on ED Visas and got away with it. But would you risk having the DTV revoked? Do you really want to take Thai cooking for 3 months? Another major issue ... does it have to be full-time? I may try to get a cooking school to give me a letter, but I would only take 1 hour class per week for 3 months. Or even 1 year. Who cares if it's only 1 hour per week? But full time or 20 hours a week of cooking is ridiculous to get a visa.

but bernie is more of an advocate for the average person rather than the ruling class as are the other puppets running.
