  1. Go for thai schools that have international programmes & use recognised decent exam boards: AQA/Oxford-AQA, Cambridge, Edexcel, IB; then get the kids to go solely for passing these exams even if using integrated curricula - they are bound to pass everything else. This is so the kids can go to universities of their choice, if they do well.
  2. Maybe USA should apply to become part of Canada - advantages increased levels of rationality & sanity.
  3. That should increase immigration from Cambodia to Thailand quite effectively
  4. These are only the obvious external threats. Internal threats: fascism (as always in Europe), religions, organised crime, organised terrorism.
  5. Main threats: Russia (aka Putin then whoever replaces him), China & CCP (totally untrustworthy), USA as unreliable ally (Trump has been a reminder that the USA may not always be a good ally), Wahhabi Islam & its sponsors (created ISIS, Boko Haram, etc..). Add to this list where sensible.
  6. Thailand can vary in terms of costs, depending on how extravagant people are. If people like Thai food, which is aroi, then costs a lot lower. Water & electricity ludicrously lower, if you have a reasonable income (which many Thais do not have).
  7. Thought it was going to be something erudite on the Roman general. Sadly disappointed.
  8. Canada a lot safer than USA
  9. Tariffs are usually counterproductive for all involved if superficially attractive to some.
  10. They should target an optimal mix of tourists - lower income, middle income & high income. Then remove things that become hindrances to tourists thinking of coming to Thailand. Hence currently, Vietnam is beating Thailand on this front, they need to look at why & actually do something effective instead of constantly whining about wanting 'quality' tourists.
  11. Apologies, you are correct, memory got me. Thank you for correcting my bad memory
  12. Takes energy & hydrocarbons to make th electric car, electric mountain bike, solar house, & I am sure at some points you use powered transport. Not so easy to avoid embedded carbon costs.
  13. Also ocean sediment cores will get us to 5 million years ago in terms of data.
  14. we can get back to 800,000 years before present.
  15. Montreal Protocol was remarkably successful
  16. Should put one under the Parliament building
  17. A friend of mine has indicated that Horden is worse, maybe the worst in UK. He was born there, and now works abroad with his family. Quality of life is way above what he could have achieved in UK.
  18. I wish him luck, and I assume he will find a far better quality of life.
  19. Unfortunately, you are incorrect, although I wish you were correct. Virulence is not neccessarily linked to viral evolution over time. For example, Ebola has not become avirulent over time.
  20. Apologies was replying to something that Gamma Globulin said but somehow ended up replying to you. He was taking about tigers. Just trying to find out the context of what he was talking about.
