3bb installed fiber all the way to my room on the 4th floor. Not only to my room but they snaked the fiber across my ceiling to where my TV was located. Installed plastic conduit to bring down from the ceiling. A very professional job in my opinion. These were 3bb guys, not a third party contracter.

When I lived in the USA, I had a Sony (tube type) that lasted 24 years. Then when I moved to Thailand, I bought a Sony 40- or 42-inch LED (can't remember exact size) in 2009 that I still had in 2022, and I gave it away (still working) to a Thai family. Reason being that I wanted to upgrade to a smart TV which is now a Sony 85-inch Android which is still working great after 2 years. I've had too much good luck with Sony to ever consider any other brand. Yes, they cost a bit more but when you average the cost over 10 or more years it's not that much.

Yes, let's see. She became a DA not by being stupid but by prostituting herself to the Mayor of San Francisco. AG - same reason and assisted by the same Mayor to run for senator but who really cares if a woman who slept her way into office is the POTUS, after all we already got bartender in the House.

Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Safety and maintenance in the same sentence as Thailand are a perfect example of an oxymoron. Don't see anything changing in the near future, just more bla, bla, bla. -
Sinking scandal: Pattaya’s new footpaths crumbling already
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Poor workmanship seems to be common when it comes roads and sidewalks. It's mostly foreign workers doing the heavy lifting, and the Thais just supervise. Soi 15 (between 2nd road and soi Bukhao) was only redone a couple of years ago and it already has holes and crumbling concrete. -
In regard to the background checks, I simply called BOI, and they said because I'm American I don't need. If you have questions just call them, they are very helpful. Bye the way after you have filled out all the forms and get an appointment the Immigration next door will cancel your OA/O visa before the LTR is inserted.

In case you have a cassette type aircon, the recommendation by Daikin is every 4-6 months with complete pull down (disassembly).

High cholesterol as a pre-existing condition?
kimothai replied to JontS's topic in Insurance in Thailand
You're right! When I applied for Thai Insurance at 74yo (for OA visa) I had to mention medical conditions/operations. When I received the policy there was so many exclusions that I couldn't hardly think of what I was covered for - Well maybe toenail fungus, never had yet. So glad not to need that waste of money insurance anymore. -
New OA Visa Financial Requirements?
kimothai replied to sqwakvfr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My opinion is Immigration wants to eliminate the "OA" visa. Other the initial procurement, the only difference (to my knowledge) is the medical insurance that has to be from a Thai company. Why not the "O"? As we move through our 70's toward our 80's the insurance cost is well past 100,00 baht and with all the exclusions (due to priors) it's practically useless. I was about to change to an "O" but the LTR came along to save the day with none of these silly banking requirements. -
Many of these so-called Thai Engineers don't seem to have a grip on the concept of water flows down-hill, not up. Next time try using transit or even better hire the Dutch-they seem to be genius with the management of water.

Pattaya eyes one-way system traffic shake-up to Soi Buakhao
kimothai replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
One way for Soi Buakhao is probably the only viable solution since no one seems to care or has the ability to control the double parking which (in my opinion) is a root cause (among other things) causing the chaos. These City Officials talk a good story but in reality, are nothing more than bobble heads talking jibber jabber. Don't tell me what you can do, show me what you can do! Up till now you've only proved that you are good BS artists. Just my opinion. -
You don't mention if you have health insurance that can be used in Thailand. My go to hospital is Bumrungrad in Bangkok which is at the higher end of costs. I live in Pattaya, but I have a trust issue with some of the hospitals in Pattaya which is off topic. I consider the extra expense (transportation and hotel) is well worth it. My insurance will pay (100%) for a "comprehensive physical". I believe this will cover all the tests you describe with the exception of artery exam and the colonoscopy. if you do decide to do a colonoscopy at Bumrungrad I recommend Dr. Charkaphan Osangthamnont. Good luck

Bangkok could be submerged in seven years warns economist
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Therein lies the problem. The bureaucrats can't agree on who should get the biggest slice of the pie. These greedy politicians have known about this for 40 years or more. This information about Bangkok sinking was published way back when you would get your finders dirty from reading print newspapers. This story is just a regurgitation of ancient news. Of course, these stories give the people who believe in climate change a chance to sound off. They believe everything is due to climate change (including their ingrown toenails & hemorrhoids). -
Former Police Chief Arraigned Over Red Bull Heir's Case Mishandling
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So these Thai police officers may have accepted (probably very large) bribe to protect someone who killed one of their own co-workers. Absolutely no integrity at all. In this part of the world too many people would sacrifice their own mother for a pittance of coin. Just my opinion. -
Thailand’s Casino Complex: 90% of Patrons Expected to be Locals
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I for one have no interest in casinos even if entry fee was only 5 baht. On the upside if the casino goes belly up it might make a nice Airconditioned building for repurposing as beer garden/upscale Soi 6. -
Thailand's Tourism Surge Threatened by Zero-Dollar Chinese Tours
kimothai replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Just more Bla, Bla, Bla. Sounds more like the Thai's are just getting their excuses in order when their inflated numbers don't come true. It's all about saving face. -
Regardless of the latest government change, I never believed that Immigration was going to allow people to just bounce in and out of the country every 60-90 days for an indefinite period. It was just wishful thinking.

The Hidden Dangers of Parasites in Stored Salmon
kimothai replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I've order salmon from Paleo Robbie. They claim it is wild caught - no farmed fish. I always order enough to avoid shipping fees (to Pattaya) and then section the sides and vacuum seal and keep in freezer. The catch is you will pay more but as they say: "up to you - it's your health". Bye the way, it's also delicious. -
Pattaya cops stop brawl between Kuwaiti tourists & Thai bikers
kimothai replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
With the changes in visa requirements making it easier to enter & stay longer, I fear these scenarios will only become more frequent. Police seem to be only reactive and seldom proactive -

Trump lied 22 times in his acceptance speech.
kimothai replied to CharlieH's topic in Political Soapbox
Only 22 times?!! The Democrats have been lying about the "empty suit" running the country (America) since he took office. Those lies have got to be in the thousands by now.
