Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Still waiting @DrJack54 why does your advice you read on the internet override my actual real experience in Jomtien immigration getting 30 day extensions for the last 8 years? You are the one who said "my personal experience does not assist in any way". How are you allowed to post as fact stuff you have no actual experience with? -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I know that. That's why you need to have a perfect application pack. I have signed all my photocopies, added mobile number to TM7, have TM30. Check-in lady looks at my application, sees it's all complete and I don't think she even looks at my visa exempt to stay date. Queue number granted in 30 seconds -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First of all I call BS on a zillion posts saying you can only apply for a 30 day extension within 7 days of stay expiry. Of the few posts maybe their application packs weren't complete so easy for IO to say come back later. Doesnt make my experience of getting greater than 7 days out extensions irrelevant as they've both been this month (I would think the opposite and very relevent) You never did answer what's your experience getting 30 day extensions in Jomtien that you base all your advice on and allow you to tell me all my experience getting 30 day extensions in Jomtien is irrelevant? -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Please explain why you think it can't be both my extension and my friends extension as separate matters. I've posted both cases on AN in separate threads. It seems you attack anyone who has a different experience to what you think it should be. I obtained a 30 day extension for myself 21 days before stamp expiry, I obtained my friends extension 2 weeks prior to his stamp expiry, both in Jomtien. Could it be because my application packs were perfect including signing all photocopies and adding mobile number which are not listed in the guidance but they always ask me to do it. But you just keep banging on that my experience is not relevant and now tell everyone that they must apply within 7 days of expiry. When was the last time you even did a 30 day extension anywhere never mind in Jomtien? -
I think I over bought beers last few days. I now have 10 tallies in the fridge for tomorrow's no alcohol day 😀

But I just got my 30 day extension of stay from Jomtien 21 days prior to my 27 Oct ending date -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP is a tourist staying in hotels so free to move anywhere to get the 30 day extension. My point was moot anyway as he was already talking about Jomtien immigration where I suggested he go -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Reading thread again OP did not have all his extension application docs in order as no TM30. As IO said queue is full It must have been busy so they told him to come back later when he had all docs (and he had plenty of time before entry stamp expiry). Lesson here is come with all docs prepared -
Open a Thai bank account on tourist visa
Pattaya57 replied to qwab32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I've never heard of that before as why does having an "authenticated passport" make any difference when you actually need the original passport at the bank? How does that give your address that the banks require? Even if true, my friend is in Pattaya so agent cheaper, easier and quicker than going to his Embassy in Bangkok and then hoping Pattaya banks accept it -
Open a Thai bank account on tourist visa
Pattaya57 replied to qwab32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The account is not dodgily opened. The hardest part appears to be getting the residency certificate on tourist visa so for 500 baht from agent is a great deal. You could then try and get bank account yourself with certificate in hand but bank may still ask to see long-term visa? I suggested to my friend to just pay the 3800 in fees (as 700 is ATM card and deposit) and get it done. The agent also drives him to the bank and submits everything so that's got to make it easier Btw, I've had a bank account since 2010 and I tried to open another deposit account at same branch and they refused without residence certificate (which I can't get on visa exempt). So people quoting how it was X years ago should probably be ignored 😉 -
Open a Thai bank account on tourist visa
Pattaya57 replied to qwab32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think Thailand has made it impossible to open a bank account on tourist visa without use of an agent (need long-term visa to open bank account but need bank account to get long-term visa) Visited an agent last week for a friend. They wanted 500 baht for a bank required residence certicate and 4500 baht to open bank account with Bangkok Bank. This included 400 baht for ATM card and 300 baht deposit into account (and some random accident Insurance for a year) -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Hotels do the TM30 online so highly doubt they will fill in the TM30 form and provide all supporting documentation required. Most people say ask hotel for print out or screenshot of online submission (Immigratuon can see TM30 lodged in system) -

I thought Chonburi, Sri Racha and Jomtien had immigration offices. Obviously not -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Quote my whole post rather than extracting a sentence that suits you. I asked him if he meant Chonburi city whereby if so go to Jomtien where I found it easy "When you say Chonburi, is that the city? If so why not try Jomtien immigration. My Mates extension was 2 weeks before stamp expiry and was pretty easy." -
Visa extension in Chonburi
Pattaya57 replied to trappedinasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You keep recommending this agent. I took my friend to Maneerat last week and they quoted him a ridiculous 6000 baht to do a 30 day extension. So I did it for him for 1900 immigration fee. OP yes you need a TM30 for 30 day extension. When you say Chonburi, is that the city? If so why not try Jomtien immigration. My Mates extension was 2 weeks before stamp expiry and was pretty easy. -
Why do you assume we don't?

Leaving and getting blacklisted
Pattaya57 replied to justaphase's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just wondering why anyone would check in 4 hours before a 1 hour 45 minute flight lol Point made for OP though, no need to go to airport until check-in counter opens -
But if they did alcohol dependency issues they could just stock up from 7/11 the day before....so what's the point of closing everything other than kill some much needed bar income?

Visa Exemption Limit?
Pattaya57 replied to JoeNguyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How many of those offshore workers that reported a problem either had a wife in Thailand or owned/rented a condo, therefore technically could be accused of 'living in Thailand' with visa exempt (I know many people that do that). How many then dug themselves a hole with IO by saying "but I have a wife here" or "but I have a condo here" Most of us using visa exempt don't have a problem if not using back to back entries to live here. Most I've heard from people not trying to live here is you might be asked some questions about why so many visits but then let in anyway. Hardly a concern for the OP with eight 3-4 day trips this year (hard to be accused of living here staying less than 30 days a year) -
Good to know, most of the baht buses I get on are nearly empty with 0-5 passengers. Of course I don't get on the stationary buses that wait until full before heading off. The ones that then can't pick up another passenger until someone gets off but they still stop for you anyway lol

Article says bugger all but doesn't matter as you're not allowed to quote that newspaper on here mate 😉

Visa Exemption Limit?
Pattaya57 replied to JoeNguyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You do realise 'tourism' is a valid reason and short tourist holidays is what visa exempt is for. Saying he can't be visiting Bangkok because Singapore has same is quite frankly rediculous
