  1. Deleted. Posted in wrong thread
  2. I see OP said Jomtien told him 7 days in advance required in March in that thread. I received a 30 day extension from Jomtien in April which was 16 days in advance and did another in October which was 18 days in advance so not sure why he keeps getting told different?
  3. Changes every month it seems. My last 30 day extension was 6 weeks ago at Jomtien and that was 18 days before my expiry date
  4. I have an ad blocker but it never worked on AN. Today it's clear and free of ads on AN and very fast. Maybe my ad blocker finally started working 😀
  5. Going through immigration at 23:59 is a bit silly and cutting it fine, but going through before midnight and therefore getting a 26 Nov Exit stamp means no overstay. Please note the only person in this thread constantly saying he was hit with overstay for doing above admitted later this was 20 years ago so irrelevant (he probably miscounted his 30 days and actually was on overstay, who knows, it was 20 years ago)
  6. Yay, all ads appear switched off and forum is fast and usable again. Who knew so many ads would kill the functionality of a forum lol
  7. Yes, it appears they turned all the ads off and now it's at a professional speed.
  8. Asean Now is not just super slow (it just took 26 seconds for this thread to open for me), it's unusable. For days everytime I clicked on a thread a full page ad would pop up that I couldn't close. That seems to have been fixed (however ads still take 5-10 seconds to close for me) but I just tried to open a new thread about a border run and an ad covered the text box so I couldn't see what I was typing (so I gave up). And now same with this post, an ad I can't close is covering what I'm trying to write...crazy bad Edit: Fixed typos I couldn't see while typing initial post
  9. So if you knew that already why did you start the 3rd thread?
  10. Does this matter so much to some we need two threads about this 😆
  11. Sydney Consulate has health insurance for O-A and O-X as exactly the same requirement of 400k/40k but O-A is actually higher at 3 million baht insurance required. This is shown by prices quoted from approved insurer where O-X is 10,255 while O-A is higher at 13,290 per uear
  12. That's the good thing about Sydney Consulate. You can only submit application online and only after they approve it do they ask you to send passport with fee. Of course he would still have paid for police clearance, had GP check and paid for 1 year health insurance but all are valid for O-A application if O-X failed
  13. Lopburi3 posted it above as MFA requirement? The money in (a) and (b) must be kept in bank account at least 1 year before withdrawing and, within another next year, the money must be left in the account with the amount of not less than 1.5 million Baht and can only be spent in Thailand.
  14. Yes, Canberra requires 3 million in Thai bank unlike Sydney A$150k (which is actually about 3.5 million baht). My concern was even if O-X is granted on Aus $ how do you meet the yearly requirement of 1.5 million in Thai bank without transferring to Thailand (it would mean you did transfer 1.5 million less though) I did email Sydney Consulate twice asking to confirm I could submit O-X application with $A bank statement but they never replied (I've since read on here they are very good for clarification questions if you call)
  15. OP, of the approved health insurers I found AXA gave the best price by a long way for the required 1 year initial health insurance. They do this by allowing a deductable of 100,000 baht which suits me as I'm happy to self insure but have AXA available if anything big happened requiring 100,000+ in hospital fees You can check specific cost for yourself here https://direct.axa.co.th/HealthOnline/EasyCare/CoverageOptionPlan/Agent/967C4F6A7E Edit: For 58 year old with 100k deductable it was only 10,255 baht per year (AXA also offers 200k and 300k deductable)
  16. Sydney Consulate seems unique as quotes $A in bank is required for O-X rather than being in Thai Bank Proof of adequate funds - A bank statement in the past six months showing a deposit account with the minimum fund of AUD 150,000 or an income statement with a monthly salary of AUD 5,000
  17. Seems more generous now so maybe it's true stamps stop 23 Nov. Spent 152 baht tonight and got 19 baht stamps
  18. Your experience was 20 years ago so hardly relevent today
  19. I would hope not. No-one wants to explain why they have a voided stamp in their passport. Also, I always leave on last day of permission so if they voided my legal exit stamp they'd be putting me on illegal overstay. Pretty sure they would just give me another visa exempt entry
  20. So now you say it happened to you 20 years ago, after initially stating as fact this is what would happen now. Glad I called you out on your BS I still call BS for 20 years ago but at least now you can say you can't post proof as no longer have passport Maybe all the people sad facing my posts calling him out on his BS may delete them now 😆
  21. It's not the case. When you stamp through immigration you have effectively left the country and obviously cannot come back in without entering the country again
  22. Yes this is what I've always understood. You definitely overstayed 1 day because uou miscounted days like a lot of people do, but they waive overstay fee of 500 baht and don't give an overstay stamp for 1 day For people with 2am flight but pass through immigration with exit stamp same date as valid until stamp, they get nothing at all as they haven't overstayed
  23. Easy to prove. Show a pic of valid until date stamp, exit stamp and overstay stamp all being the same date and I'll believe you (not possible but this is what you claim) You shouldn't be able to make a game changing statement against all previous forum advice without proving it in my opinion. Otherwise people can just say whatever they like
  24. I call BS on this. It's been said on this forum forever that if you go through immigration before midnight for a 2 am flight you are not on overstay. Even common sense says so, if my valid until day is 5th Nov and I stamp out at 11:30pm on 5th Nov there is no overstay (would need a 6th of Nov Exit stamp to get an overstay) And when you are stamped out of immigration you are stamped out of the country, not when your flight departs. Your example would have people scheduled for a 10pm departure but flight delayed until 2am getting an overstay stamp
