Casinos just create more poor people, the loan sharks must be drooling over this proposal. -
Thai Govt Rejects Poll Showing Public Dissatisfaction

They've been doubling down on all their bad choices so far, they don't seem to care what anyone says, Emperor Thaksin is in complete control. -
Motorcyclist Pursues Attempted Murder Charge Against Reckless Driver
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Makes no difference, the red truck was weaving in/out of traffic at highspeed just before he hit this guy (using all three lanes), I saw the video, he was extremely reckless and it appeared to be a deliberate move to hit him. -
I'm with you on the uncertainty, always waiting for the other shoe to drop while here, it's annoying. I was thinking about opening a worldwide bank account, but think they want you to lockup $250,000 or more for balance requirements.

Thailand Faces Backlash Over Secret Uyghur Deportation to China
lordgrinz replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nope, they are in a military jail, they are enemy combatants not in any military uniforms (aka Terrorists), they deserve no rights or quarter. -
My CapitalOne account, Amazon, Xfinity, and Coinbase accounts all work with the Google number so far for SMS messages. Haven't tried doing a voice call with them through Google yet though, but hoping that will work. Also haven't tried Chase through Google either, but so far that's a pretty good list of accounts covered. I will wait until Skype is shut-off, and if Teams isn't taking over the number, then I'll try some other VOIP service, but Google voice is looking promising so far.

I already had my Google Voice number before I came here in 2016. Plus, I believe you can't port a Skype number directly to Google voice, you have to first port it to a mobile phone account, then port it to Google voice later.

Used my Google voice and number account without issue yesterday, testing with my brother back home, so far so good! Even the caller ID leaves no trace of me being abroad. This was using wifi and data, which you need to make sure is set correctly in the settings.

British Tourist Knocked Out by Pattaya Club Bouncer

Does Thailand consider self-defense as a defense? As far I have seen they don't seem to allow for self-defense in their laws, more like mutual combat and both are subject to prosecution. -
Thailand Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Foreign Businesses
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Because a "crackdown" on illegal Thai activity won't gather any support, lawbreaking is for Thais only. -
Pheu Thai Criticised for Limiting Paetongtarn's Role in Censure Debate
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The only way she can even remotely convince her critics, is to publicly denounce her father, and to force him to shut his mouth and remove his ability to travel for any political purposes. Since there is no chance in Hell of that ever happening, she is guilty as charged. -

Yeah, I still don't get it, they don't make money off the high rollers, they make their money off huge numbers of poor people losing their shirts every month. -

Motorcyclist Pursues Attempted Murder Charge Against Reckless Driver
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I think I saw this on the news, where they showed many other videos of his driving, where many people keep cutting him off over solid lines and he loses his frustration. But this incident was his making, as he was weaving in-and-out of traffic and intentionally caused this crash. This is on him, he should feel lucky the motorcyclist wasn't seriously hurt or killed. -

You're more likely to die from the illegal chemicals sprayed on the "organic" produce you eat, but tainted alcohol makes for better headlines. -
Thailand Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Foreign Businesses
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they shutdown all the illegal businesses in Thailand the country would grind to a halt, pretty soon they will all be speaking Chinese anyway, and bowing to their Emperor Xi. -
