  1. My wife did the Kor Ror 22 and Surname change before I even applied for a Visa back in early 2016, using only the state (Massachusetts) issued marriage certificate (Notary sealed) and a translated copy, not sure if she also used a copy of my Passport info page. The only thing I did when I got here was to get the Affidavit, for Immigration extension purposes, from the American Embassy in Bangkok stating the following: "I ______________________ married_________ at the address of __________________ in the town of __________ in the state of ____________________ on the date of _________________ ,the ceremony of marriage was administered by the Justice of the Peace and acting Town Clerk ______________." And like said, a year later I went through the process of getting the Apostille/Authentication, because I wasn't sure if the marriage documentation would ever be questioned in the future, so far no problems. We were also told by my IO we don't need an updated Kor Ror 22 because my wife changed her Surname to mine, otherwise they would have asked for one.
  2. He was a former police officer, then became a politician, everything is "ill-gotten gains".
  3. Did you marry in the USA or Thailand? Did your wife ever get the Kor Ror 2, or Kor Ror 22 done? and did she also change her surname to yours? Other than what you presented above, we also present our Kor Ror 22, and her Surname change each year. But just in case (a year later) I went ahead and got our Marriage Certificate from the USA authenticated by the US State Department (Apostille/Authentications), then had it legalized through the Thai Embassy in Washington D.C. and then stamped at MFA here at Chaengwattana. The Apostille/Authenticated version, as far as I know, is as high as you can go with that process, but it takes considerable time and effort to get it all done. I was worried about eventually running into the same issue you have, that's why I went with the Apostille, so far I haven't had to pull that out though.
  4. The last "premier" was a village idiot, so in this instance even "dumb" would be a slight improvement.
  5. The link to the original story on TheThaiger still clearly states "8 billion Chinese".
  6. The biggest problem with bumping up over 1 million baht will be leaving money in a Thai bank account without deposit insurance to cover it. They dropped the coverage amount to 1 million baht now, which is an issue if asking us to put above that amount in a Thai bank.
  7. Thanks guys , I figured as much, but I wasn't sure when they referenced the original Visa on the line before it.
  8. What date is used in the "I arrived in Thailand on" field? The original date I arrived on using the Visa referenced on the line before it, or the last date I arrived back into the country from my last trip?
  9. They usually leave the public sector for the private sector, or leave to other countries, mainly because of more money!
  10. Maybe they're like my wife, she just bought another condo, mainly for renting out (up to 4 now).
  11. Both are extremely dangerous fugitives with warrants for their arrests, but can't name them, or show their faces?! So, nobody knows who they are and they are free to travel around the world untouched, and under secrecy?!
  12. You would think it would be the first thing on every tourists list, last thing you want is to be denied access.
  13. Also, what is the average spent per year in Thailand by Westerners residing in Thailand?
  14. Agreed, I was looking for some quality Authentic Thai goods to bring back for friends on my last trip back to the USA, not much of anything worth buying, I settled on some high grade (i.e. costly) Silk Ties and Silk scarves, because the cheaper ones were poorly made. The only other thing I found many years back were some well made pottery up in Chiang Mai, but really there isn't a whole lot of quality goods made here.
  15. When I use Google translate on the original title, it says "crashed the engine" but not sure that makes any sense either.
  16. Just going to have to wait until the next generation before having another chance at meaningful change happening, by then all these dinosaurs will be dead and buried. For now it's a lost cause, think 20 years down the road, or move on.
  17. Wait, you can get permission to do this, from who?!
  18. Surprise! Surprise! Not really.......time to start thorough investigations of all wealth by RTP members, and by an independent body.
  19. Are these debts from buying higher positions? How much flowed to people like the General in the article above? The entire RTP should be investigated, every financial movement, every satang tracked. I'm betting we can find where all these billions of baht went, and to whom, time to clean house at the RTP starting at the top.
  20. That's like asking why Thai's buy BMW's, Mercs, Lamborghini's, Bentley's, Ferrari's, Porsche's, Submarine's......bragging rights, it's all about the bling here in Thailand. Even General (term used loosely) Prawit ran around with multi-million baht watches on his arm.
  21. Name one member of the upper-echelon of the RTP that is clean and got their without being as corrupt as the day is long.
  22. Out of the hospital and now hosting parties for his friends, what a recovery!
