  1. Yes I am interested too. Not my beard though...
  2. There is Prof.Dr. Koonlawee Nademanee at Bumrungrad. I saw him when I had PVC issues, but he didn't give me any treatment, correctly as the PVCs resolved almost overnight one year later. He is mainly treating Afib cases. Getting old though and retired from his US career I think.
  3. Methinks we are going to fly in C919s pretty soon..
  4. Neither did we know the James Webb Space Telescope belonged to Thailand.
  5. Correct, but OP did it all to himself, it seems he had to decades to get his affairs in order.
  6. But isn't getting the "proper visa" like driving on the right side of the road? OP has a "long standing GF" so there is a proper visa for that purpose, if he can't meet the requirements it is a lucky escape for the said GF. The system works.
  7. Why are so many people doing this to themselves? Get a good job home where you get 10 weeks paid leave, come 3 times a year, if you have the urge. But there are so many better countries than Thailand... Easy and peaceful, buy yes, work is needed.
  8. What did the german dummy, err.. president, say about the "Thai democracy"? Maybe he thinks a democracy can exist without freedom of speech?
  9. No need to reconsider, just time it right, transfer the money in a year where you stayed in Thailand for less than 180 days.
  10. Yes, but this is a worst case scenario. If the money comes from the sale of a property we can suppose that capital gains may be considered a income and what's let as savings. Some people will pay the capital gains tax in their country of origin, but the amount paid may be higher or lower than than what they would pay here. The DTA will come into the picture and last would Thai RD isolate pre-2024 gains? The mind boggles...So, IMHO, if you want to transfer large amounts in the next couple of years make sure are not resident for the purpose of taxation.
  11. We are talking about a forthcoming house sale. And since we don't know how this will be assessed by the Thai RD I'd rather go and enjoy myself eslewhere for half a year. Now Mike might have another more elaborate way to take care of his own affairs..
  12. With the current [known] state of play, if I was planning to transfer a one off large chunk of money, such as the proceeds of a house sale, I'd allocate THB 500k of that money for a 185 days holiday outside of Thailand. All perfectly conform to current rules. This is why I didn't react to Mike's answer.
  13. Innocent question: have you worked out the that tax that could be levied now from those funds?
  14. They won't make any difference between Thais and non-Thais. Neither are we talking about dodgers. Most people who were not paying IT are those who used the rule saying that foreign income remitted to Thailand in any year after the year of earning would be tax free. This means, of course, that all pensions paid [directly] into Thai banks have always been assessable, Jan 1, 2024 won't make any difference.
  15. OP you should be a bit more specific about your treatment as there is a wide range of possibilities and combinations Brachytherapy, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT etc..). SBRT, hypofractionated to 5 sessions is rapidly becoming the standard of care.
  16. Not wrong, if their are retired. Sadly, from my observations, for active Thais an honest day's work is 45% of bitching with coworkers, 45 "netizening" with 10% left for their employers.
  17. Thai netizens seem to have an amazing amount of spare time.
  18. I would have thought that this was more of a bargirl's complaint?
  19. It is not a matter of frivolous nationalistic shopping, Europe will become the battlefield against the Russian and Chinese threats and the only suitable response will be an integrated NATO force, F35 with their advance networking capability being one of the enablers.
  20. Ok, ok, but I still don't get what poor foreigners are doing here, shouldn't they be back home and make a living. Right now there plenty of positions to be filled. Yeah but work is degrading... say the losers...
  21. Nonsense, Rafale is slightly superior to Eurofighter, but both are a generation behind the F35 system.
