I feel embarassed to admit, but the McDonald's in Thailand are far more fresh and tasty then those served in many western countries. Not to mention in the USA where the bread and service and quality was a disgrace, if compared to Thailand, This being said, also embarassed to say Indian food in great in Thailand. Reasonably prices compared to similar quality in India. Strangely, never managed to find a decent Chinese restaurant service the good old chicken shop sues, a decent egg fried rice, or the beef sauteed in oignons. Top level hotels did have but was not able to find a decently prices one. The scam in restaurants in Thailand however is with the italian restaurants, that are far to expensive and overcharging the guilable et naive patrons.

sorry but on many services like food delivery, transport or in malls, the price is exactly the same if paid by phone QR scan or cash. Sorry.

Most of those who facilitate the passage of the illegal migrants all over the world are criminal mafia groups who often are in league with the domestic mafias or politicians or industries. They enjoy the cheap labour that comes under none of the specific laws of each western country, Allowing illegals to come and stay in being an accomplice of the unacceptable and disgraceful exloitation of the vulnerable. So yes, may seem harsh, it is harsh, but the only way to stop illegals from comming and to cut the grass below the feet of the trafickers, is to deport the illegals on the spot. Not surprising that Thailand is done. With all the cheating all over against foreigners, the tax doubts on foreign income, the visa hassles by immigration and the red tape, the lack of respect in many places towards foreigners, all the drug drunks teen junkies from the west that are give a free passage and mainly the overcharging and cheating by anything from the taxi driver on arrival to the crooked contractor who shamelessly overcharges the foreign home owner during maintenance works etc. Even the malls in Thailand are now at similar prices to the west if not more. At one point those who can, are fed up, rent or sell their homes or condos in Thailand and will naturally spend the long winter months in Vietnam. Like or leave it ? Ok fine, people have took the word and are leaving.

All the fuss, hassles and red tape from immigration on visa issues could be something annoying, Getting cheated from the crooked contractors all over for home or condo repair jobs.

Really...does the UN not have anything better to fight about ? Why not try to stop the current wars instead of remaining a puppet of the corrupt regimes who are provoking or indirectly supporting criminal wars all over.

I do not trust a word of anything comming out from the authorities. There will be fuss and hassle if one stays to long in Thailand and they will just continue to chase away foreigners and the retirees who are those bringing in the big money - much more then the hoards of teenage drunk brits or westerners or chinese etc...

I prefer 100 times the useful geckos, rather then those deadly snakes that seem to be all over now. Laugh if you wish but in many parts of the world not known to be snake infested, snakes are showing up here and there. Not surprising if one looks at the service in many food courts. Sure, the prices are decent in not charging more then 100 THB or 150 THB per dish. But the portions are ridiculously small and one can taste the stale oil and other excessive additives I recall those food courts in Hua Hin town malls, They need to improve the quality and serve decent portions.

Oh really ? no more falangs to cheat ? Make campaigns for local suppliers, restaurant owners, service providers, hookers etc...to respect a bit more the foreigner. Stop all the absurd threats of foreign earned income or pensions. Punish by law all those crooked building contractors who openly overcharge foreigner home or condo owners and deliver badly finished work, mainly in places like Hua Hin where it is getting from bad to worse and prices have reached a similar level as Europe, with of course very bad finished work, Make all the visa issues for the retirees who own house or condo, less a nightmare, Stop all those absurd document requests. Any person who owns house or condo in Thailand must get a hassle free visa say for 5 months, multiple entry and stop all those absurd re-entry permits, 90 day report, or digital arrival card. All these hassles and they are still surprised why foreigner and retirees are fed up and those who can, are leaving for Vietnam or other cities in Asia ? Thais keep on saying you no like it you leave. So fine, foreigners are leaving and not comming. Simple...

If any job taken by an illegal immigrant, finds a legal resident to take over, then it's obvious to make things right again. But obviously the legal resident would ask for more wage. Why do you think all over Europe, the politicians are closing their eyes on the illegals ? Usually the mafias in Italy, eastern Europe, France or even in the UK are in close contact with the human trafickers who bring in the illegal labour. Labour that is then used for drug trafficking, prostitutions, menial jobs in farms, fields, restaurants that no legal wants to do. They also have support from the far left antifa woke political groups and thus the corruption and exploitation of the illegals continue, Any country that tolerates illegals to be in it's territory is contributing to human trafficking and exploitation. 90% of those indian run tailor front shops in Thailand in general rarely have in house tailors. They use contracted tailors in small called sweat shops in back streets, I think around south bangkok or Chinatown to do the job. What happened since COVID, these tailor shops are using cheaper labour who does a sloppy job and of course they cheat you with the cloth. A common scam that used to be around, but had stopped but seems to be back, is to show a fine material cloth at the shop, but they will usually have a highly cheaper grade cloth hidden that will be used. Thus always....always ask for a proper sized cloth sample at order. But this rarely solves the issue of the sloppy tailoring. The standards in Bangkok have highly dropped all around Nana Area but prices are same or higher, Since a few years to get a proper job in Bangkok, or places like Hua Hin or Phuket, Pattaya that used to offer good work..... you will end up in paying almost the same as say in Italy or France. To the sole exception that if you make your suit with a tailor in Italy, you will get 1000 times better work, cuts and material at the price of a top market tailor of Bangkok, But as there will always be the falang who will be happy of any crappy thai job done, the business is still running.

If you pick up any fine lady at the Thermae Bar in Bangkok, that is mainly catered by freelancers, one can bang (no pun😜) into an accountant, a shop owner, a 7/11 cashier girl, a bank executive or clerk, a waiteress, restaurant owner or perhaps even some government official....free lance prostitution involves almost any category of females in society (in Thailand or even in the west). Problem is that the koreans, chinese, japanese, the asians and even some foolish westerners, who have no idea are a total bunch of ( xxx) and pay absurdly high amounts and thus generate an inflation. It can make those ladies heads turn and become picky with their "expectations",.

Not to mention the big drops of foreigner spending money in Thailand. No surprise considering all the absurd tax doubts rules, the visa hassles, the lack of basic respect towards the foreigner and the lack of hassle free visa to the biggest foreign spenders in Thailand .These big spenders are obviously those who own property and have retired and who come over for 4 or 5 months each year. These people spend far more then the tourist drunks who come and mainly spend on alcohool, drugs and ladies. Thailand need to implement a hassle free say 5 month visa for all house owners/condo owners who wish to stay mainly from say october to april. Stop all those absurd documents that immigration asks, the 90day reporting and all the other hassles that are pushing these retirees to prefer spending their money in Vietnam.

Thailand's roads are definately not a safe place any more. Even when it's not the Songkran madness, foreigners need to be aware that they can also get badly beaten up or assaulted on some property dispute or other issue and then find themselves in court. Like it happened to the elderly british couple in Hua Hin. Far better of to choose another country to retire.

Even without the quake, if there was some genuine and serious assessment to be done on private villas or condos in Thailand, most would plainly not be fit as safe. Should it be faulty construction, cheap materials used, non respect of curing protocols for the cement, suicidal electric wiring, sloppy plumbing..name it and you'll have it. Be it a house in village in Isaan or a post pool villa in a swanky developpment in Hin Lek Fai. Most of these properties have been badly built or have sloppy fittings done by crooks (thai and falang) who know perfectly well that they can get away with their crooked habbits. But we all knew that before...but just did not want to admit it. Of course, no generalization here as surely there are still some decent house contractors still left ?
