  1. No. It means file if your accessable income is over the filing threshold. Being over that threshold doesn't mean you'll necessarily owe tax though. For example if a foreigners only income is a few thousand baht from bank interest, no need to file unless they want to bother with that to get the withholding refunded.
  2. Vance has the charisma of a soaked log with eye makeup.
  3. No. If it's not accessable income under your DTA, you simply do not put it down on that form. Any "argument" if it ever comes to that would be at an audit.
  4. In my view it's the maga fascists and Trump apologists and sane washers who are the very poor excuses for citizens. Trump is president. The tragedy happened. But he is NOT America.
  5. If they haven't completely dismantled the election system by then. They already have a nuclear level misinformation propaganda machine in the form of Musk Twitter.
  6. Thanks for sharing. I think sovereign nations can have whatever immigration policies they like.
  7. Can someone explain to me how deep cuts to IRS agents saves money? IRS is the agency that makes money for the government. I understand why business types want to avoid being audited of course. But with many fewer agents, many fewer audits, especially of super complicated big business cases, so less revenue to run the government. Maga people -- explain this.
  8. Is it racist for Italy to offer citizenship by descent?
  9. I was thinking of Lisbon or Porto. The housing costs are very high. The "research" I did on Mauritius was awhile back so I don't recall too many details. I focused largely on retirement visas (definitely viable for most of us), safety, housing options, area options, transportation, expat life, cultural factors, food, and available activities. As with everywhere lots of "information" online, on youtube, etc. Probably a big draw for South Africans. My conclusion at the time was that it wouldn't be on a Plan B from Thailand for me personally, but might be a Plan A or B for many other people. As far as the rest of Africa, I've "looked" at South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Rwanda, Kenya, and purely as a curiosity Egypt. Out of all of Africa, Morocco might make a C list for me personally, so in other words, for me, forget about it. I recall I wasn't eligible for South Africa but even if I was even though I'm sure Capetown is fantastic, the crime situation is just too much. I do think there are some really good opportunities for black Americans getting residency. Especially younger entrepreneurial ones. Some countries in Africa are welcoming them with open arms, and who doesn't like to be welcomed?
  10. They're already cutting Medicaid, and they lied that they won't touch Medicare and SS. There is big money there -- for the billionaires.
  11. I have a theory. Right now there are organic street protests and angry loud town halls of Trump - Maga house members where people expressing outrage about the radical actions of DOGE, including the attacks on privacy. Trump's poll numbers are way down, and Musk's popularity is dropping like a rock. This promise of a dividend is another diversionary trick. He thinks the base at least will shut their yaps if they think they'll be getting a check. Meanwhile the administrative fascist coup and power grab continues and the end result is of course all classes get royally screwed except for the billionaires when they get their big tax cut (the reason they want to cut so big in the first place).
  12. I've done some research about Mauritius. My impression is that it's moderately expensive, probably higher than Thailand but lower than Costa Rica or Portugal. It's very isolated though. I think it would be a draw to people into ocean stuff. An interesting choice for sure.
  13. Trump and Musk are finding concepts of sending condoms to Hamas and concepts of sending SS checks to 150 year olds. Anyone believing a word out of either of their mouths should have their head examined.
  14. Leaving out pork doesn't make it Kosher. Not even close. Anyway, I find your use of "chosen" to be intentionally snarky, but in one sense I agree with you. If a customer has any kind of special dietary needs or allergies, it's up to them to make inquiries before ordering. In this example if he was told no pork and it did have pork then that would be fair grounds for complaint. To add, nobody is expecting actual Kosher food in general restaurants. People needing fully Kosher do their own research first to find the tiny number of places in Thailand that actually have that. Pretty much Chabad places and that's it. For Muslims on the other hand, I am no expert on all their rules (my impression is not as difficult as Kosher) but you often see restaurants posting signs that their meat is Halal. They wouldn't serve pork either.
  15. Hey there, News from Phone2. They have announced that UK and Australian numbers will be available in March. Which begs the question, are they REALLY going to end the 99 lifetime offer by the end of February? If I was gonna bet, I would say no, but who knows. Playing games with "limited" time offers is rather a sign of less than stellar business ethics. But that doesn't necessarily mean that their product is bad.
  16. Rubio has sold his soul.
  17. Americans are NOT buying Trump's vicious lies about Zelinsky and most do not like that he's sucking up to his good buddy Putin. In fact, more Americans think Trump is a dictator then Zelinsky!
  18. Some countries in Africa are actively going after black Americans giving them liberal residency rights. Immigration based on descent isn't unusual but in the case of Africa it's different (legacy of slavery) because being black is enough, not proving any connection to the specifc country.
  19. You're wrong. If you did a tiny amount of research you would know that he meant that most of the money was spent in the U.S. So when fascist Putin lover Trump cites an inflated figure of aid to Ukraine and twists Zelinsky's words to imply that the money was lost, just don't believe Trump. He lies about EVERYTHING!
