  1. Stop trying to gaslight us. Did you see the Trump Tax Tariff Rose Garden event? Notice how it was falsely presented. RECIPROCAL TARIFFS. Not based on reciprocity. Not based on tariffs either.
  2. You're talking about one targeted segment of the economy only. The normal not insane way that countries often do use tariffs. The overall averaged Thai tariff on US imports is MUCH LESS than the 36 percent Trump has imposed which insanely isn't even based on tariffs reciprocal or otherwise. So not you have NOT made a case for Trump's Tax Tariffs for Thailand or anyplace else. Unless you think that Thais should buy as much American fish sauce as Americans buy Thai fish sauce.
  3. Actually not. But not because of what they cost. Because not interested. If I did want that I openly admit I would need to limit that to keep living within my means.
  4. Whatever the reactions to Americans due to the Trump tariff, etc. effect there is no doubt it will be much less of an issue in Thailand compared to Europe.
  5. I live under my means. Yes easily under 40K but I own a condo. If I had to pay rent for the same condo my spending would be over 40K but not by much. I don't keep any kind of budget as for me it's totally unnecessary so why bother. 99 breakfast? Why would someone living here go out for breakfast in the first place? Eat breakfast at home. As far as doing nightlife like a two week millionaire tourist, of course that would cost a fortune. If that's really what a person thinks they really will want to do after living even in Pattaya for several years, then of course they should have much much more money. But I think that naturally most people aren't that insane and won't have any desire to live like that. In my own case I do spend a lot more than most long term expats on food. Living only on cheap Thai street food would be hell for me. So I don't So why live in Pattaya if you're not a sexpat? Lots of reasons. In any case, Pattaya isn't for everyone. Thailand isn't for everyone. Retiring abroad isn't for everyone. Heck -- retiring at all isn't even for everyone. Most people in the world can't afford to ever retire at all. So if you have 40K to retire in Thailand, condider yourself lucky.
  6. Yep. From a narcissist who found the word groceries novel (he's never shopped for them). People are angry and they're right to be angry. Expect the street actions (reportedly there were millions nationally for Hands Off) to get bigger and bigger.
  7. Not the George Soros thing. Painfully predictable.
  8. I'm wondering if more remote locations would be better in the long run. Thailand is too close to China which means involvement in the upcoming war there. Someplace like Chile now an advanced developed nation perhaps.
  9. So Biden is living rent free in your brain now? Do you think any of the majority of Americans who are now anti-Trump are thinking about Biden now except to wish him a happy retirement?
  10. I was wondering if incompetence was an impeachable offense. Intentionally crashing the markets which is directly indicated on Trump's Lies Central would certainly be a case of harming the public good, yes? AI said this: Incompetence alone is generally not considered an impeachable offense under the U.S. Constitution, which specifies that impeachment is for "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." However, actions that demonstrate gross incompetence or behavior incompatible with the duties of the office could potentially be grounds for impeachment if they are deemed to harm the public good.
  11. I don't think it's so wrong as that's how Islam describes it but I would put in the style sheet to explain that belief when starting to use that term in an article. Unless an item is targeted to a Muslim audience only, then no point in explaining. From the Muslim POV not using revert can be seen as insulting and clueless. Not trying to be PC here. I'm not a big fan of religious people in general but they are a big part of the world regardless. To add, those who argue calling a convert a revert is irrational, well, yes it certainly is. But so what? Consider all religions in the world are based on stories divorced from rationality. Some perhaps more than others such as Mormonism but at least Mormons can laugh at themselves based on their response to the Book of Mormon broadway musical.
  12. Yes, and that's a reason that the American brand has been permanently ruined. One time could be a fluke. Two times and Americans (collectively) are really that insane.
  13. All based on an error. Bunch of amateurs. It's insulting to amateurs to call them amatuers. Of course Trump is incapable of ever admitting a mistake so he'll just double down on the totally insane destruction that he has started.
  14. It's legitimate to ask people to sacrifice for a necessary goal or real emergency. It's TOTAL EVIL to force sacrifice on a population based on total insanity of intentionally ruining the future of your country based on bizarro-world formulas that no student could propose in school without getting an F. Also he flippin' lied. He said he would lower prices instantly. Don't let him gaslight you by saying he honestly warned people. Yes it won't be easy to rid the nation and the world of this sleazeball mentally ill grifter who rules based on his weird whims and doesn't consider consequences, even to the next day.
  15. I think this weekend's Trump golf was especially outrageous optics. He crashes the global economy, destroys trust in America permanently, ignores the dead soldiers returning to Delaware, and has a golf thing for his own personal profit with the flippin' Saudis. He's corruption personified.
  16. How absurd. That was two full terms. Trump has one plus small change for now.
  17. Trump. Putin, and Xi are loving it. The rest of the world especially non-oligarch Americans not so much.
  18. Nobody ever went broke betting on republicans having no spine.
  19. Of course you're political. If you're not interested in politics, politics is interested in you.
  20. You're just wrong about the way things are.
  21. Delusional.
