  1. All you right-wing MAGA supporters are just CRAZY! Just because two men who are suspected of killing a woman turn out to be illegal immigrants doesn't mean all immigrants, even illegal immigrants, are criminals. This is xenophobia. This is as bad as racism. There are many, many people killed (murdered) in the USA every day, and very few of them are murdered by illegal aliens. Take off your crazy hat and think about this rationally.
  2. Yes, I agree - if they are charged, go to trial, and are found guilty. And all that should not be dependent on whether or not they are illegal immigrants.
  3. Let's go Brandon ! add this one to his list of victims As I said in my previous post, the citizenship/immigration status of the two suspects was not confirmed in the article above. Neither was the citizenship/immigration status of the victim. But the most important thing I stated was that neither of these should play any part in a trial, if there is enough evidence against the suspects to warrant one.
  4. I'm a lefty, a far-, far-left lefty. Here is what I read, starting on the left, in the article above... According to the article above, these two men are only suspects in the murder. They are also only suspected of being illegal aliens. There is no mention of the victim's citizen or immigration status. It was mentioned she claims to have been raped before and was supposed to have gotten, used, and turned in a rape kit. The bottom line here is if there is enough evidence, these two suspects should be tried for this suspected murder. However, the citizenship or immigration status of neither the suspects nor the victim should play any part in the trial.
  5. I’ve lived in Thailand 34 years and have had more issues with ladyboys in Bangkok than I ever have in Pattaya. I rarely go to Walking Street though. Ladyboy pickpockets used to actively target farangs on lower Sukhumvit and Asok. Mind you, if you are old enough to remember, the whole area down from Soi 33 to Soi Zero used to be beer bars, and not the offices and malls we see these days. I also stay away from Bangkok and any other large city. I prefer to live out in the country, in the mountains where there are only small villages. Three are a few katoeys here, but they are not aggressive or troublesome.
  6. I buy most of my vitamins and drugs online. They are a lot less expensive than buying them in a pharmacy.
  7. I am 78 and lived and went to school in the USA during the time you mentioned. I received none of that anti-White teaching to which you refer. I was allowed to learn about all the anti-Black and anti-all-other-races policies that were prevalent in the USA before my time (1940s), and taught how they needed to change. That was the time of the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Acts. Although there was some grumbling over them, especially if someone (White) thought they were passed over to fill some racial percentage goal by hiring a non-White instead of them. We got through that, or so I thought. Then along came Trump, who stirred up all these "deplorables" again and urged them to crawl out from under their rocks and speak their hateful and prejudiced minds. But that's how it is. I don't blame Trump for creating these people. I do blame them for being the way they are. And, if that's what the majority of the voters in the USA (or, actually, the majority of the gerrymandered Electoral College) want - another four years of Trump, then so be it. I will disassociate myself as much as possible from them. All I want from them is my monthly Social Security payment, but I'm sure if Trump gets elected, the USA will quickly devolve into pure, violent chaos. I'm a little too old and too far away for it to make a difference, but the re-election of Trump would make me change my opposition to the 2nd Amendment. And, if that occurs, I suspect Trump will be "president" for a lot more than just another four years...
  8. I can quickly name two: 1. He helped the USA get rid of the worst president in its history; 2. He just provided a path for illegal aliens who are relatives of US citizens living in the USA for over 10 years, the right to apply for permanent residency. There are many, many more...
  9. He has given all those disenfranchised folks permission to hate. He has created tremendous amounts of division. That is who he is. He is a hater, and he creates chaos. I agree with all you said above in your post, except for your use of the word "disenfranchised," which means "deprived of the right to vote." These haters were never "disenfranchised." In fact, part of what they are doing now to try to obtain a victory for Trump is to disenfranchise the opposition by making it more difficult to register as a voter, restricting mail-in votes, etc. These deplorable have always been eligible to vote. Maybe they didn't vote because they didn't like any of the candidates available or something like that, but that were never restricted from voting. Anyway, I agree with the main part of your post above that Trump creates division and chaos, and that's what his legacy (hopefully a short-lived legacy) will certainly be.
  10. They look like nice people...
  11. This trend is very disappointing. The USA is my homeland. I grew up in the Midwest. I always knew there were racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, radical Christians, neo-fascists, etc., living there, but I always thought they only made up about 10% of the population. Now, they seem to be at least 30% and maybe even 40% of the population! But I don't think Trump CREATED these deploables. They must have been always there. Trump just gave them permission to crawl out from the rocks under which they've been hiding. I hope Trump does not become president again. If he does, I believe, first, there will be a lot of violence. And second, the USA will quickly be changed into a completely capitalistic fascist state, which will eventually evolve into a plutocracy. Of course, I'll be watching it all unfold here in the beautiful jungle-filled mountains of Thailand, sitting in my recliner watching CNN. As long as they leave my Social Security payments alone, I'll be okay. Extremely disappointed, but okay.
  12. I thought the hybrid slapped the farang first and kept harrasing them? Yes, that's all we see in the video above. It could be the Farang said something insulting to the katoey as he walked past. It could be the Farang was attracked to the katoey, thinking she was a woman, and then when he found out she wasn't, he rejected her. Who knows?
  13. Don't despair, organize! I live here in Thailand. I am registered to vote and will cast my vote in California. Their electoral votes will be for Trump, with or without my vote. So, there is nothing really I can do but post anti-Trump memes on Facebook, most of my friends there share my sentiments on Trump, and if a Trump supporter sees them, they wouldn't believe them anyway. I think the die is cast. It will be a close election, but, like I said above, whoever wins, the other side will not accept the result. There will be chaos, and I'm talking about "blood-in-the-streets" chaos. I'll be watching it all live on CNN from my easy chair up here in the jungle-filled mountains of Thailand.
  14. So are you saying you have never been to Pattaya? Yes, I've lived in Thailand for over 20 years, and I've never been to Pattaya and have never wanted to go there. It's reputation is not something that appeals to me.
  15. I see a lot of forums describing the chaos and dangers of Pattaya, but none of them say it is a "fun place."
  16. I wouldn't have entered then - and I'm not Indian. I'm a Caucasian.
  17. This is my post. The two above were the same, but when I clicked on the SEND button, nothing happened. So, I sent them again and then again. This has happened to me before, but only on this site. I don't know what is wrong and if it is a problem with my browser, my network, or AseanNow. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? And, now, my post... This is, of course, inexcusable, and I hope the perpetrators are caught and convicted. However, this also just reinforces the questions: "Why would anyone want to go to Pattaya in the first place?" And, "If you do go to Pattaya, why would you be out on the streets in the "early morning hours"? Aren't there places in your own home country that you wouldn't go to and certainly not walk down the streets alone at 2 a.m.? There are plenty of those types of places in my home country (USA).
  18. I hope Trump does not win or even come close to winning the presidential election in November. However, if the results are close, or maybe even if they are not, I don't think either side (Democrat or Republican) will accept them. I think either way, there will be a lot of violence. My main concern is not so much Trump himself but that there are so many people in my home county who would support and vote for him. Because of that alone, whether he wins or not, I'm not likely to ever return to the USA because of disgust with what it has become.
  19. Yes, I agree that the law must be written so as not to discriminate between married couples. Also, my preference would be there would be no law against adultery but that adultery could be used as a reason to file for divorce and may be treated as a "breach of contract."
  20. Yes, we will probably never know the actions that led to this altercation. It could have been instigated by either party. I also hope the Farang will be more careful and less violent in his actions.
  21. I've lived in Thailand for over 20 years but have never been to Pattaya and don't ever care to go there. What I don't understand, though, is with its reputation, why would Farangs go there and walk the streets at night expecting anything other than having sex workers aggressively seeking them as clients?
  22. You might be "walking away in one piece" or "running away" like the Farang in this video. And also, most likely (I hope), he will be adjudicated and put into jail for a while and then deported.
  23. One person punching an annoying person is not "fair" and is certainly against the law.
  24. Yes, I assume that's how they are using that term. Whether or not "transwoman" means any gender-associated surgery has been done on them, I don't know. I think in this article, they just mean a gay man who is dressed up like a woman and wants to be treated like one.
