"Originally," in 1947, Palestinians made up about 90% of the population of Palestine. Jews were less than 10%. Then, the UN gave 54% of the land to the Jews. 1947: Palestine Population & Jewish Immigration Now the Jews have about 87% of the land. How much land has Israel taken from Palestine? That, IMO, is why the Palestinians hate the Israelis.

They are being told to relocate to some other Arab country. At least that's what CNN says. Anyway, my point in all my posts about this is that BOTH sides are guilty of violence against the other, and BOTH sides want all the land for themselves alone. You may believe one side is more guilty than the other, but both sides are guilty. 😞

I disagree. I believe Jews are just as guilty of attacking Muslims in Palestine, especially over the past two years, but Israeli attacks and expelling Muslims have been going on for at least 70 years. IMO, they are both at fault.

"Both sides" did not commit any atrocities on Oct 7, 2023. Only one side did by killing around 2,000 people- Hamas/Palestine. From Oct 8, 2023, to the present, for over two years, one side has committed an overwhelmingly large number of atrocities. killing as many as 60,000 people - Israel. Like I've said several times above, BOTH sides are at fault.

Why has Israel taken about 90% of all Palestinian land since the division in 1947? Israel wants the whole land for itself, with Palestine not existing. They both only want a one-state solution, and I think any attempts at creating a two-state solution (again) will not be accepted. I believe this "war" will go on and on regardless of whatever agreements are reached now. 😞

Maybe they will be thanking Israel for ridding Hamas from Gaza ? Brave and courageous Israeli soldiers fought and defeated Hamas freeing Gaza from the Hamas gangsters and allowing them to live freely and prosperously About 1,000 Israelis were killed on Oct 7, and fewer than 1,000 IDF soldiers have been killed in Gaza. That's about 2,000 Israeli dead compared to 50 to 60,000 Palestinians. Like I said above, I predict there will be a lot of Palestinian survivors and many Muslims elsewhere who will continue to seek revenge on Israel in the coming years, regardless of what agreements are made. This Jew/Muslim conflict will probably never be settled. And, just for the record, I put the blame on BOTH sides. 😞

Read the Exodus in the Old Testament of the Bible, or the Torah. After wandering around in the desert for many years, the Jews finally reached Canaan, which they took from the Canaanites by force - or so these books say. And, if you look at the 1947 map of Palestine and how the UN then divided up the land between the Israelis and Palestinians, and compare it to today, you'll see how much land Israel has taken from the Palestinians.

Yes, and I believe the same can be said for the right-wing, nationalistic wing of the Israeli government that is now in charge of Israel. They believe all of the land that used to be called "Palestine" was given to them centuries ago by their "God" and all Muslim infidels should be eliminated. Netanyahu is a good example of that.

I obviously don't know the answer to that question, but I believe all the hostages that are living and can be found will be returned alive. I also believe some, hopefully only a few, of the hostages that are dead will not be able to be located, so their bodies will not be returned. I think this could cause problems.

I don't agree, especially in this case. With 50 to 60,000 Palestinians killed over the past two years, I believe there will be a lot of husbands/wives, fathers/mothers, sons/daughters who will never forgive Israel for what they have done. I don't know what the Germans or Vietnamese think of the USA now. I would think there are some that will never forgive the USA, especially in Vietnam, for how we conducted the war there.

Yes! I want to make it clear here that I don't see this as a black-and-white situation, where one side is right and the other side is wrong. I think both sides are wrong.

I disagree with some of what you wrote above. I don't think the far-right party now in charge of Israel will EVER consider a 2SS. I do agree that so many Palestinians have been killed over the past two years that this and the upcoming generation will never want peace with Israel, including a 2SS. They, of course, don't have the military power to really confront Israel, but attacks like Oct 7 and periodic assassinations will, IMO, continue. I think this "war" will continue for at least the 50 years you mentioned. I'll be dead by then, so I won't ever know how, if at all, it's resolved.

I hope you're right, and I also hope Hamas is able to return all the hostages, living and dead, in the time specified. I hope this agreement continues and expands into serious discussions about a two-state solution. But, I wouldn't bet on that... 😞

I disagree. I think the decimation of Gaza and the expulsion of all Palestinians from the West Bank were what Israel intended to do all along. The Oct 7 attack just gave them the excuse they were looking for.

And you will claim that Israel were lying and that all the hostages had been returned ? Yes, kind of... I predict that if, for example, Hamas cannot locate one or two of the dead hostages within the 72-hour window, Israel will blame the violation of the agreement on Hamas and then continue its decimation of Hamas and the expulsion of all Palestinians from the West Bank.

I think CNN said something to the effect that if this agreement goes the same way as the other agreements between Israel and Palestine, we shouldn't get our hopes up. As I've said before, I don't know the details of each of the agreements that have been made between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Those details are not interesting to me. I only care about the generalities of how the Israelis and Palestinians have had conflicts with each other for the past 70 years and how the agreements between them have continually collapsed. If you want details, Google for them or go to the link I provided you above. Again, I predict that in three or four days, Israel will say Palestine hasn't kept their end of the agreement because they were unable to return one or two dead hostages, and Israel will then continue their military actions. That's MY prediction, not CNN's.

No, I did have an idea. I'd heard and read about Israel reneging on agreements before. In fact, I heard that alleged today on CNN. I didn't know the specifics, so I searched for them online and posted them here for you to read. Isn't that what you and everyone else do?

Well, both those accounts sound the same to me. Why were the Palestinians in a "compound," and why did the Israeli police show up? That sounds a lot like what's happening in the USA (my home country) right now. The National Guard and even the regular military are being sent to cities to "assure the peace." Actually, they're doing just the opposite.
