  1. All very melodramatic.. I'll await the TV series and then change channel
  2. It's all to do with money, influence and loss of face. The government was embarrassed by her and lost face. Now it's just about political etiquette and appearing to be sympathetic. Truth is they don't give a damn. One less thorn in their side.
  3. 5 shots and he survives... time to go buy a lotto ticket. Hope he fully recovers.
  4. “Say, Will—why don’t you pull that thing out and play us a tune?”
  5. Well that will teach ya. Certainly brings reality into view at an early age. Lucky she survived. What's the bet she doesn't touch the stuff now.
  6. Not sure how the Russian-Arab relationship is faring but if the later is trying to move in on Russian territory.... this could serve as a warning.
  7. I'd think that dress material would be a bit irritating on her nipples after a short while. Then what?
  8. Yes I too received an email from Wise saying fees are increasing in some cases doubling! Seems to be occurring alot in the financial sector.
  9. I must agree without fear of being banned but this AI reporting really is the pits. What a verbose load of crap. I couldn't read the whole article as it was that bad.
  10. Actually I always have my passport with me. On the odd occasion that it may be with my agent then I have both a photocopy and a photograph on my cellphone. Some years ago when doing visa runs from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai, the bus was bordered by police/immigration officials. All passports were checked. Happened twice in my time in CM. On one occasion several Laotians were removed from the bus. I have no problems carrying my passport with me. I'm always are aware that I have it and it is secure, same as my driving licences.
  11. “And so you just threw everything together? Matthews, a posse is something you have to organize.”
  12. Yes he chose to work in Israel. He wasn't forced to do so by the Thai government. I worked in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was my choice. Had I died there due to terrorist activity, would my family liable for any hand outs from the NZ government? No way and neither should they. It's a calculated risk and that's why there is a thing called insurance. Can't afford it? And still take the risk? Then it's on you. Sorry to hear this guy died. But it was a risk he took.
  13. Apparently in Pattaya you can spend a lot less... and still get probed. Just saying
  14. Initially in NZ it was all cc based for getting a bike licence. Learners and restricted licences upto 250cc only. Once you got your full licence then the sky was the limit. About 8 years ago they changed everything as evolution of bikes had moved forward. Actually even back before the change you could get smaller cc bikes that had greater HP than larger bikes. Yamaha RD350 (2 stroke rocket) being one that comes to mind. Now in NZ its all to do with HP. Power to weight ratio. You could get upto a 660cc bike that is LAMS approved (Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme), so novice/learners can use those. They even mention those bikes of 250cc that are not approved due to HP. So it's come some way to ensure learners arent hopping on bikes with too much power. A good move.
  15. Oh boo who, so you're a little bitter now are you? You forked out a sum of money to get your elite visa only to find out others can get a visa for less money via an agent. TIT what do you expect really. A lot of government departments are not necessarly paid a great salary. Probably why corruption is rank. They too need money to live/survive. It's not a Western orientated society but it works for them.... sort of.
  16. Hey Owl, is that a Yamaha Mio scooter? Strange coincidence, when I arrived back in country after being back in NZ for 5 years.. My Thai brother in law had a scooter sitting amongst a pile of rubbish. He hadn't run it for over 5 years as he had bought a new bike. I pulled it out and indeed a Yamaha Mio. Decided to get it up and running. Before photos: After photo: Just about replaced everything and spray painted myself. Total cost? Around 2000 baht. Now it's my cheap little runabout. Fun little bike. Good luck with yours
  17. Who knows what his 'real' story is? That will probably go to the grave with him. I don't think he was properly prepared for Thailand. There are some simple rules (Albeit bureaucratic to hell) and if you follow those you are generally ok to stay. And you can have a good time doing so. Hiding from authorities is not a good time. Time to return to the land of the long white cloud (Aotearoa: NZ), I'm sure you are going to miss this place.
  18. I have also found many highly qualified people to be sorely lacking in common sense. Does DjSilver know how to tie his own shoe laces? Or does he wear slip-ons to avoid embarrassment? There term pompous comes to mind.
