re entry with new passport?
BrandonJT replied to proton's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There are no entry auto-gates. Those are only for exiting Thailand. -
I hope and pray they don't do this one. It's already complicated and confusing enough for people with how often they flip-flop the number of days and list of countries. To have 3 separate lists of countries (VOA, Visa Exempt 30, and Visa Exempt 60) would make it exponentially worse! All or none! And leave the list of countries alone as well!

Losing out with on-line TM47 applications
BrandonJT replied to cliveshep's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Enjoy your drive into the immigration office when they reject your report and give the reason that you didn't apply within the window for that immigration office. Each immigration office sets their own policies and procedures, and each immigration office processes the online 90-day reports for their province. You can go argue it with them if you'd like, but I don't think you'll get very far. -
Thai Visa Centre offers services throughout all of Thailand, but unless you're in Bangkok you will have to mail your passport to them in order to get your visa/extension since that's where their operation is. They're a legit agent, you should able to find reviews online. Though you wrote "Thai Visa Center" which I don't know about. I only know about "Thai Visa Centre." so you might want to double check the spelling of the agency name to see if it's the known one or not.

You overcomplicated it far more than necessary. You did not have 2 90-day reports. The new one you received from your extension was the only valid one. The date on that one was your next report date. The e-mail you received is nothing but a timer put into the online system, it has no idea that you already had a new superseding 90-day report. People that leave Thailand still get those e-mails because the system is not connected to anything.

Do I need to notify Immigration
BrandonJT replied to Cricky's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's the TM30 you are talking about. I believe Jomtien does not require you to re-notify if you return from domestic travel. But you might not be able to file a TM-47 (90 day report) online if your most recent TM30 does not match your address that you file your report for, so it might be better to get a new TM30 if your landlord is registered online, since it will only take them a moment to update it. -
Working Visa - Earliest Issue Date
BrandonJT replied to stament's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You don't have to leave the country to ask a question to an embassy? That doesn't make sense. Look up the contact information for the embassy you would use and then contact them and ask them a question. Location is irrelevant. -
Chiang klong border bounce
BrandonJT replied to kelboy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Were you also asked for proof of 10,000 baht and proof of onward travel out of Thailand? That seems to be on the slip of paper they have been handing out to people. -
I've gotten a residence certificate from both Bangkok (One stop service center) as well as Chiang Rai (main office at Central). Both while on my LTR. Both of these were in December 2024. Bangkok will not give you a residence certificate if you're not residing in Bangkok. You must have a TM30 that matches the province/address of where you want the residence certificate for.

Losing out with on-line TM47 applications
BrandonJT replied to cliveshep's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Every immigration office is different. They all have different policies. But many more are switching to the 15 days before until 7 days before. Some still allow you to file online up until the due date. -
Non O retirement extension paperwork
BrandonJT replied to Nowaythatsreal's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They do keep it. All of it. Most likely locally as I have heard from immigration volunteers that have seen rooms full of the boxes and them moving them in and out. Also anecdotes about them having files and being able to show things from multiple years prior. I think it's safe to say the Thai government spends a lot of money on warehouses for literal mountains of paper, since they seem to love it so much. -
I need names of visa agents in Pattaya
BrandonJT replied to cubism001's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They don't need to keep up to date on developments, because they are paying to bypass them 🤣 -

Taking girlfriend's Thai kids to Australia
BrandonJT replied to swoods58's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
First thing is first, you'll have to get the children passports. That requires approval of both parents along with required signed forms and other things. Your girlfriend should be able to find the information about that in Thai language fairly easily. -
If you plan on switching back to work permit in less than a year, don't waste the time and money to apply for the DTV now. Just work remotely as you are currently doing and switch once you get the BOI company setup.

Onward Travel tickets.....Qatar Airways
BrandonJT replied to Chivas's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The legal requirements to enter as a tourist do not change just because you have a visa. You can still be asked for proof of onward travel, and immigration can still ask for the same 3 proofs as someone entering as a visa exempt. Tourist is tourist. -
Onward Travel tickets.....Qatar Airways
BrandonJT replied to Chivas's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Assume they booked the onward ticket to submit as part of the tourist visa application, and then tried to use the same one at the airport. Should have purchased a new one, or had the purchase of a new one on stand-by for check-in. -

Advice on doing a border run
BrandonJT replied to CK1980's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It doesn't matter how many days you have left because when you leave Thailand your entry stamp is invalid as of the moment you cross the passport gate. -
Where are the "eVisa" processed?
BrandonJT replied to Confuscious's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There are 3 "retirement" visas that I can think of off the top of my head, and there are possibly more. Just because that's the first one you found, doesn't make it THE retirement visa.
