Not sure about Surat Thani but Chaeng Wattana only accepts THB 800,000 in a Thai bank account for the initial Non O issuance. They accept monthly transfers for the extension, not sure about combination method.

If he wants the money sent by WISE then it is sent to a Thai bank. If he has an account that he can receive funds, just make a deposit to that account

I tried ro go from a tourist visa to a 3 month Non O at Bangkok Chaeng Wattana. They would not accept THB 65,000 for 12 months to issue the Non O. They do accept the monthly for an extension; howver, not for a new 3 month Non O

Most of the advice given is incorrect. If your bank is showing a domestic transfer, most immigration officers require a letter from the intermediary bank verifying the international transfer even though you don't have an account with the bank. Some imm offices require that the letter not be more than 7 days old from your extension application. Many of us on the monthly transfer for extension have contacted Wise to flag our account for direct transfer and not use an intermediary bank.
