Under consideration - Marriage extension
bunnydrops replied to BangkokAlan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In Korat immigration, they would not give me a re-entry permit while under consideration. -
Just something to consider. I have a pump connected to an above-ground tank. I started getting pulsing. I thought maybe I had a leak. What it turned out to be was an air leak between the tank and the pump. The pump was pulling harder than the tank could supply water and was sucking in air. I taped the joints on the pipe with electrical tape and the problem went away.

Bye bye Electric & Hello Hydrogen?
bunnydrops replied to eezergood's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Two things I have seen talked about in the past. One already mentioned. EV service station where the battery is removed, remaining power measured, and a charged battery inserted, you are charged the difference, plus a small replacement fee. You never own the battery. All done in less than 5 min. The second is all the advancements being made with capacitors. They could be put in the car roof, door panels, etc, instant charge, lighter than batteries -

I would have loved to read a forum like this back when we were moving from horse and buggy to the motorcar. -
Had a similar problem years ago. 3bb sent someone out. At first, they thought that maybe a rat had taken a bite off the insulation somewhere in the attic. Turned out to be something with the line from the pole to the house. They couldn't find anything visible on the outside of the line. They only guessed that maybe a branch had fallen and stretched it somehow.

Both Mint and Lyca have e-sims. Nanlaew activated his sim from Thailand I assume. I have a physical sim and activated it in the States -
Cheapest U.S. SIM card for OTP overseas

Google Voice is good. I keep that one also. The one thing I like is that I have it linked to my Lyca phone and they send voice messages received on GV as text to the Lyca. I have never used it for OTP since I don't use it much they are always threatening to take the number back. I am afraid I will forget to use it after I get the warning. -

I use Lycamoblie, I have the $29 plan, but charges me $26 since on auto-renewal. Incoming calls and messages are free. I rarely use it to call back to the US. there is supposed to be a fee (I think around $ .49 a min.) but have never seen a charge. They have a special this year $10 for 12gb. with the free incoming but I don't think you can use that data here. https://www.lycamobile.us/en/plan/35-high-data-plan/ -
My wife had her's removed last year. She is on Thyrosit. She used to get low BP fairly often but seems taking calcium and vitamin D fixes the problem. Even before leaving the hospital, they had to give her D shots, her fingers would get numb. Now she just remembers to take the calcium and vitamin D and seems to be doing well. She has had some weight gain but not much. She is at that age (56) whereas my grandmother would say "Her potatoes are shifting"

Yes, but we don't live there. Ask the Brits or the Aussies about their benefits away from their home country. Think about it, why should they give us a COLA when we don't live in the country where the COLA set?

As an expat, my only concern is that my SS would be ended, halved, or frozen. I see it more likely under the Republicans than under the Democrats. The Republicans are always looking to kill entitlements, and it would be one that could easily done without much resistance and would put a feather in their cap.

More common than you think. It happened during a cold spell. My guess is that the tile expanded faster than the concrete it was attached to due to it being warmer inside. Once a weak spot was found, the tile began shattering and peeling from the concrete. Quite a mess.

Took 12 years before I saw any cracks in my exterior walls, and they were very small--- then my tile livingroom floor exploded. Sounded like a bomb. The center of the floor raised a good 10 inches.

One big plus about being buried is you have something to leave a message on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKNhP28T9qg&ab_channel=BossDT A part of you lives on forever.

I just wanted to add that I noticed while waiting for my name to be called, that Thai men of all ages generally had very low readings. I was a bit surprised knowing a lot of pork fat is consumed by the ones I know.

I have been a walking dead since my 40s, late 70s now, 145/85 would be average, high cholesterol to boot. never taken any meds.
-
I was in the government hospital once and watched this nurse check this old Thai's pressure. She checked 3 times, not trusting the readings, each over 220. He sat there smiling like he won a price.

Scottish woman’s cliff plunge in Thailand sparks insurance debacle
bunnydrops replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why was she riding a MB near a cliff? Did she fall off the bike and down the cliff, or did she go over the cliff with the bike? If the former, she could argue that it wasn't a bike accident that caused her injuries, it was a falling accident. -

Both around 2 or 3 in the morning. Too much to drink? -
No good is going to come from this. Those people don't play around. Maybe not today, but they will get their pound of flesh. In my village I have helped some, by buying some land from them so the sharks wouldn't take their house, I even bought a cow. I won't give them money, I am not a bank. But the sad thing is they will turn around a year later and get another loan. I am into the "here and now" but you have to think about the future sometimes.
