Sorry, which idyllic country is this. Can't be Thailand nobody walks in the streets, too hot???? Road safety? I've been driving here for years, I don't find it particularly irksome. Indonesia is about the same, except maybe slower. ???? No town planning. Great, if you fancy painting your house two-tone purple and pink. -

Why not the holes will line up.???? Asking for a friend. But yes, we do need a photograph for aesthetic reasons.

I think most precast poles have holes every 200mm for the purpose of securing fence wire. So said holes could be used to simply bolt on other posts to make it higher. I.e. 2m. 20mm/3/4" square steel tube bolted into said holes using expanding anchors.

I would say that American drivers especially as they think everyone should drive on the other side of the road, The whole conversation is stupid as we have to adapt to the circumstances we find ourselves in. It is not the same as where we learned to drive, the drivers are different. We simply have to concentrate and learn to adapt. -

I never stop either in case the vehicle behind doesn't. That scenario makes it less safe for the pedestrian. Better to pass and leave the road clear. -

It is simply different to what you are used to.???? Many counties allow the equivalent of "left" turn on red. Simply adapt. There are many traffic idiosyncrasies around the world. Where I live they have taken down one set of lights and erected a mini roundabout. It works, after a fashion.
