Would be nice if folk with a Toyota Fortuner (Vigo) would come forward to say their ride started making noises after 10 or even 100,000km....Cos I have never heard this stuff...
I have a Vigo Champ. I bought the single cab off the showroom floor in Bangkok because I was building a house out in the sticks (few construction shops and no deliveries out here). Ok it has not done a lot of kms in those 3 years...only 25,000 kms. But most have been hard kms. Many many full loads of construction materials, tiles etc from Udon 2 hours away. I am heavy footed on the road as well. Trips out to the farm on unsealed roads with full loads of bagged fertilizer or the other way with full loads of bagged rice or firewood. If I blindfolded you and put you in this pickup today you would swear it was brand new...no squeeks or rattles at all. The only time it does squeek or rattle is on shopping trips with the wife lol!

Its pretty simple really. If you want a good ,reliable, trouble free vehicle that you will be happy with for years..buy the Toyota. If you are not concerned about the above qualities but instead looking for something that looks big, comes in bright colours and you can drive around yelling look at me, look at me, then you want the Ford (thats why the Thais like em).

Vegemite our poor mans caviar
thanks, you really made my day, especially with the happy little vegemites. However, I must say I am disappointed with Oprah liking it. I much prefer the 'its disgusting' comments because that means there is more for us connoisseurs.
The poster promoting Ketchup??? There is a serious problem there.
Coincidentally I am right now enjoying vegemite on a nice fresh french stick for lunch while catching up with the TV.com news. I was really hoping they might have some more of those "Why do airplanes have wings?" type posts. They really help my arvo nap!

its obvious that the Thai mother is a drug addict and prostitute thats the exact reason why Thai court ruled that the children need to live with their father.
if that mom was so innocent and perfect hard honest working why the judge ruled against her?
First off I have to say that I dont think I have met Marcy (the father) however due to working and living in the same area (Minburi) we have a lot of mutual friends. Good friends that have supported him through this whole ordeal. According to those friends, Marcy was granted custody of the kids due to the fact that the mother (Joy) [and thats an oxymoron] was in jail for using yaa ba. When she got out Marcy allowed her to have access to the kids on weekends etc. At one time she wanted to take them for a holiday, which he granted. However during this "holiday" she actually moved house so he couldnt find the kids. That was like 4 years ago and during that time he has been looking for them and seeking court help to get them back. Not long before the "accident" he located them but she and the grandparents played some twisted game of one minute refusing money for them and then wanting more money if he wanted to see them.
Even during the terribly painful first days the kids were in hospital she still refused to let him see his kids unless he gave her money and also paid all the hospital bills. For some reason it seems the hospital supported her refusal to his access. However I was also told the the police too were denying his access?? Possibly the cops did not want the children influenced before they could question them. However, if that is the case, why too was the mother not denied access?
As far as Joy being a prostitute or not, no-one has said either way. However there seems to be some questions regarding her whereabouts at the time of the incident and for some time afterwards.
If anybody is seriously interested in the father's plight, wants more info, or wishes to make a donation (for the kids) there is a Facebook page called "Borel Kids" which has been set up by Marcy's friends in support of him. Thanks.

Must be different at different offices. My IO says my application for extension is in itself reporting, form or no form. When I go back after the 30 days "pending" and get my new extension, they then give me a new form to fill and date to report again.

do not muck around with a shed buy an old 6 metre container, totalbly lockable, and you do can any thing with, even acts as a big safe !
If you go this way put a second roof at least 60cm higher above it otherwise incredibly hot. I worked in the NW of West Australia and thats the setup we used. Still very hot but better than without the extra roof.

I have a 6m x 3 mt Qcon and steel shed. The actual workshop inside is only 4 mt x 3mt. An adjoining room under same roof is for our bags of rice etc. Attached to this is a roofed area 6m x 4 mts which is where I do most of my work, hobbies etc as a lot cooler. Not shown in the photo, the back wall is covered with floor to ceiling steel and mdf shelves which looked monstrous when I built them but are now completely full!! At the side of the workshop is a bench sink which has come in very handy.

The police are doing a good job in their campaign to change Pattaya's sleazy image. In Australian press described as "police raid orgy in Pattaya, often referred to as the sex and prostitution capital of the world" Great advertising for sex tourism. Expect even more Australian tourists.

Yes I wonder if the cops will be charged with spoiling Thailands reputation lol! They just seem to make things worse for themselves.

First of all I am circumcised and I have a penchant for oral sex. I have had a lot of sex partners and I can tell you I have had to train most of them because I get the feeling all men are different. Many times I have had a sex partner who I felt has been useless to the point that I'm thinking "do you really think this is exciting me??" "Did this really turn on your previous partner?" I have come to the conclusion that all men are built different and therefore we dont all get turned on by the same method. Try to instruct your partner in what feels good for you without making her feel inadequate.
If your history portrayed by a few of the previous posts is correct I would also suggest you dont go reading medical journals etc. In the past I was one who was always worried about my health due to family history and would, in my mind, seem to have every symptom of every disease or ailment known to man after looking in those books or online. I wont go near them now and live a happy healthy life.

You may laugh at this but try to befriend the dog........from a distance of course. I had the same problem with a neighbour's dog, especially when the owners were out. Dogs will howl when they are lonely or bark when they are protecting a property. It would howl its box off because it was lonely or bark when it saw me moving about on my property or someone else walking past.
My solution was to talk to it. When it howled I tried to console it and when it barked I would tell it everything was ok etc. Try to find out its name and use it. You have dogs so talk to it the same. Its not so much what you say, it is the tone. Dont get angry or yell because you are then a threat and you will make the situation worse. But you need to have patience, it wont happen overnight.
Now this dog is as quiet as a mouse. Instead of barking it now wags its tail at me. Even when people pass it rarely barks because it knows it is not alone guarding the place.....it has a friend nearby. It has actually worked to my advantage because he is now also a guard dog for my property by barking at strangers very late at night when people are not normally moving around or if someone comes too close to my place. Give it a go, however it wont do any good in protecting your dogs if they are all out together....that's a territory thing. Good luck.

"Khaosod English does not reveal the identity of potential victims of sexual violence. " ??????

All I can say is, I had many tourist visits to Thailand as an American before moving here. And of all those, I can't ever remember one time where I ended up sitting at a mini-mart/grocery store drinking and socializing (?) with three Burmese construction workers, or any Burmese construction workers for that matter. I must have missed that part of the tourist routine.
Not unusual for Thais drinking out front near roadside to invite you to join them, happened to me many many times when working in Bangkok and also in my village now. Burmese construction workers I cant say but wouldnt imagine any different especially if they have been here a while. Maybe I just have a friendly face.

Typical! I see this every day! Thai drivers don't understand that if something is blocking their way, they should slow-down or stop, if it's unsafe to overtake.
A couple of weeks ago, I was travelling along a dual-carriageway. A motorcyclist, oblivious to his surroundings, came-out from a side road. The car in-front of me had time to slow-down, but just pulled-out to overtake, right into the side of an overtaking pickup. The motorcyclist didn't even give them a glance, and carried-on, in his virtual dreamworld.
I used to like driving, even in Thailand, but the roads are getting more dangerous by the day. If it wasn't for the packs of soi dogs, I'd prefer to walk the short journeys.
You stand a better chance with the rabid soi dogs I think.

I guess the schools are doing summer camps and can't find normal teachers, but I just don't find the reports credible. Quite honestly, I can't see any normal school letting illegal, non-native speakers anywhere near the kids. Something a bit odd here!
