  1. Fulton Sheen was reckoned to be one of the non-corrupt good guys (as per Michael Vorris) this one is not doing his memory much good.
  2. Not sure which one you're referring to but could have been Vatican diplomats going by those middle names.
  3. None of the above and not a small branch either. Could not have been pleasanter or more helpful. There you go. Do I mention that I've had just enough drink to make me mellow, but not enough to make me want more. I won't then. A coffee and a kebab will do fine.
  4. I have one, issued from Pattaya Tai branch a few weeks ago. Sorry it says Debit, I'd never even looked at it, I just asked for an ATM card and that is what they gave me. I am a passbook and cash person by instinct, first time I've had one here in over 20 years.
  5. I don't want to take you too literally but I don't see many leaving because a western food shop or caff/bar closes. Possibly if they all close. But there's always someone ready to have a go and open up something new.
  6. Why should I go.? Where would I want to go to.? I have seen suggestions of supposedly cheaper and better places, but for the moment Poland, Albania, Panama, Ecuador and others hold no appeal for me.
  7. Never realised there were so many options available, perhaps somebody could organise a poll to establish people's preferences.
  8. Exactly, from the photo she doesn't look like a dosser and they don't normally do spot checks on random farang (do they?) so possibly someone ratted her out. As our American cousins say.
  9. Be interesting to find out, the topic has gone quiet.
  10. According to flat-earthers the Mississippi already does, or must do if the earth is round. I am not one, before you kick off. ????
  11. The Beefeater is open and waiting for you. ????
  12. Can you (or anybody) please state some of the countries that fulfill the 7 criteria that you list above. A number of people have made similar statements and I am interested to see where Thailand is being compared to.
  13. It could be a Protestant antlion that is sorely offended now and considering legal action.
  14. I am sure there is an inescapable strain of logic there, but I can not just put my finger on it. On topic I surprisingly only know one who had to go home skint, but several others who got stuck outside and won't come back due to quarantine and some not being up to the CoE. At least after 3 rejections they abandoned it.
  15. Funny I was just thinking there'll be a few insurance people shaking their heads and saying "it's not your lucky day is it."
  16. Geordie is probably the most difficult to understand. Brummie is probably the saddest.
  17. No no.!!! Do something <deleted>. No offence Doc.
  18. Is that 25/7/22 or 23. Gosh we do have fun on here.
  19. I was always a voracious reader, not much at passing exams but I do have people telling me I am educated. Probably just because when you read a lot (and listen to people) you acquire knowledge. Those papers were a bit beyond me, different vocabulary and syllabus plus I do not know what 8th grade translates to in the UK. University entrance perhaps.? But thanks for taking the trouble with your interesting post.
  20. Ha ha, yes my wife and I are the same.
  21. Those TEFL types that are on 20,000 a month are probably laughing because it is the one day of the week that they can afford lunch.
