Yeah, I think sugar is a problem as they put it in and on everything here.  I certainly avoid it in coffees and try and keep smoothies to a minimum.  Dairy and booze not an issue these days.  Was thinking to try and not eat UNTIL early evening as a method!  Just some kind of method to reduce intake.

Intermittent fasting works well.  Keep you 'window of eating' to 4-5 hours, fasting the rest of the day.  I tend to do that naturally, especially, when it is so hot here!

I read all these comments about how my knees are going to suffer from jogging.

Was man not 'designed' to run? Are knees a design fault?

I have done plenty of cycling over the years, which I'm sure has strengthened my knee joints.  I haven't done much running or jogging over those years, so no past injuries or excessive wear and tear on my knee joints.

My knees are fine, my bones are fine.  My heart is fine.  I have normal BP.  I do not have diabetes.  I do not subscribe to the idea of slowing down as you get older.

Slowing down and taking it easy is one reason why you feel older!

Oh I wasn't trying to say slow down, just that there seems to be exercises that are easier on your knees than running, that actually strengthen them than debilitate them.  But it's your body!  :)

I think it is far more likely to be simple choking. Quick application of the Heimlich manouver may well have made the difference.

    Reasons?

1.He was thai and familiar with som tum. no one else in the household suffered

    2. 'whacked on the back and noodles flew out'

    3. 'started gagging.'

Som Tum Bpoo has tiny crab shell shards throughout.  If I was going to be a betting man, I'd say a pice clawed its way into his throat.

Good, ทำหน้าที่ให้ถูกต้อง, serves them right! Why can't individuals be more respectful?

A few years back, my friend was almost blinded after water was shoot at his eye.

I got doused by a super soaker a few years back, the pressure shot the dirty water deep into my ear - got a horrible inner ear infection that took about two months to fully get rid of.  I wasn't even playing, just trying to get by.

I just bought a package again.. and I normally can eat it all. Just want to try it again to see if i can live with it. (or not). It would be a nice filler.

I used them 5-6 years ago when i wanted to lose my weight.. now going to give them a test again.

'Dry fry' them in a pan, maybe just a smidgen of oil, until they lose most of their moisture, about 10 minutes or so on high.  Then add your fixings.  It makes them less rubbery.

I agree with you. This "no pain - no gain" attitude is very dangerous and more often than not counterproductive.

A more gentle approach is best. He's not going to compete in any competitions.

I much prefer quick walking, biking, or the elliptical machine, or swimming.  I see way too many guys at the park I go to who have both knees all taped up and are still running.  What's the point of doing that if you are ruining your knees?  That's why I like biking, it actually builds up your knees and it's just as aerobic if you do it right.

I belive that there is ongoing research at a think tank somewhere in Patpong or it might be Nana Plaza into the actual IQ of a Thai. So far the results have been cloudy at best as finding a working brain to measure have proven to be futile.

Sent from my SM-T805 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

The Thai people I work with and live with are all much higher IQ than 100.  Just depends where you hang out and who you choose to hang out with.  Those foreigners who have no interest in getting to know educated Thais but prefer the environments of streetwalkers and their ilk will probably indeed enjoy the company of sub 100 IQ individuals.  But those types of foreigners enjoy that kind of company because it does not challenge them and they actually enjoy feeling superiority, even though they complain about their stupidity all the time.
