If Michelin keeps the same standards they have in Europe i guess they will be finished fast in BKK and can keep the stars in their pockets.

I don't know any restaurant in BKK which can deliver consequent quality, and the waiters never do it perfect like Michelin demands.

I'd tend to agree.   I was a waiter/bartender in a 2 star rated hotel in the States.  The demands to get and keep that rating was ridiculously hard.  Sad to say I don't think I have had the food or service here that would merit any restaurants in Thailand a ranking.  However there may be politics involved so I am sure they will find a couple.

I bailed on Apple 3 years ago for a droid and never looked back. It runs circles around IOS. I am heavily vested in Apple products, but as I said, droid is so much better it is not worth compareing.

Curious how you quantify your new droid 'running circles around' the apple phone.  I would assume you have a lot of specific examples to back up that statement?

Might look at those.  I like the airpods but I will likely only use them for running and I'm not convinced they won't fall out.  Maybe they won't, but I'm reluctant to shell out 7,000 baht to find out that they do.

I can understand that but from everything I have read plus account from a friend here that played rough and tough volleyball with them in, they don't fall out.

  4. I'm using the Plantronics BackBeat Fit, sturdy rubber cord that connects the two headphones.  they were about 4500.  Charge is around 8 hours, takes about 45 minutes to charge them fully from empty.  I'll eventually get the airpods too, I have a friend here that loves his.....but all sold out forever I guess!  Plantronics BB are great for sport, in the gym, etc...pretty good sound, comparable to the iphone wired buds.  and the controls work great - can control tracks, volume, and they have a microphone and are easy to answer the phone, use Siri, etc.

Child deaths don't worry you then?

Cops should be stopping and immediately confiscating any bike with more than two people or with kids on it, especially the ones without helmets at least.  5,000 Baht fine to get it back.  The fines going towards education programs or rehabilitation.  But cops don't really care about any of that, so people just keep doing it.  I care, but I'm not a cop and have no right to stop anyone, so......

  6. There was a really awful vid on youlike a few months ago of a husband wife and kid on a bike.  The kid was maybe 3-4 years old.  The husband was riding his bike right in the blind spot of a car, trying to pass it I guess....the car suddenly moved to the left as he couldn't see the bike, knocking them all over.....not even sure if the car driver knew what he had done as it just kept going.  The kid was unconscious, mom hysterical, all without helmets so.....

Many bike riders on the road here are big babies that expect you to always be watching for them, always taking horrific chances.  One road on my commute to work is a narrow busy 2 lane road with the bikes constantly taking chances.  At least once a week I go past an ambulance hauling someone off.  If you give them a quick beep on your car horn they will flip you off.  I don't have much sympathy for them.

About a year ago the General made a crackdown about policecorruption. Anyone who paid them bribemoney would get punished hard but also the policemen demanding a bribe would get severe punisment.

Let's wait for the reaction of mr Prayuth on this.

Those checkpoints were outlawed sometime last summer and I didn't see them for about 3 months....but they are back now with a vengeance.

Thanks, our TV's are all LG, all slim, all bought about 4 years ago.

From my very limited knowledge 'Smart TV' is much more recent technology.

    Is that correct?

    Thanks.

Yep that should be fine.  You can connect to the internet with them, right?  I'm sure you can.  If so you should be good to go.
