tezzainoz, you might be correct in what you write, but some westerners with verbal diarrhea on the internet ain't gong to be making a difference like your good woman is, so relax, and try not to let emotions get the better of yourself.
correct? far from it.
the fact is that nobody should be protesting under the current situation, it is not safe.
if people want to still protest for some misguided beliefs and a lunatic leader and put their lives at risk ? no thanks.
I totally agree with you
If you are not Thai
then stop whinging and go home
I'm not Thai but Thailand has been my home for a very long time, and I have paid enough in taxes to keep many politicians up to date with their luxury items, so feel a bit of a right to whinge now and then. Although I am unopinionated to the general Thai population, if they are my friends I will speak my mind, and they theirs. We may agree or disagree, but we have a good debate and can still remain friends when all is said and done.
Your demand for people on this forum to stop their criticism of what is going on in Thailand is quite ridiculous. I like hearing both sides, even if I lean about 85% towards the protestors.
I would dare say if you don't want to hear debate, then YOU should leave the forum, and walk around stating nothing but empty platitudes about Thailand that never actually express your opinion about anything.

There are two types of Thaivisa posters.. Those who see Thailand for what it is, and those whose wife tells them how it is..
Haha, love it!

This thread by the way was not about alcoholics, nor about light drinkers, it was about heavy beer drinkers wanting to stop, and how easy this might be.
I would add though that substituting cokes or any drink with heaps of sugar in it is most likely worse for our health than sticking to the beer. And at least you get some fun from the beer!
I will report back in april on my progress...
I drink quite a lot of soda with a squeeze of lime, San Pellegrino if I want something "special". I also like tomato juice, I make a mix so it is spicy, and keep it in the fridge. Ah, and espresso shots and water.

I really wish people would just boycott the whole thing. Would be lovely if only five countries showed up...

I would think carrying people like they are doing in the pic would be quite harmful to the victims if they are really hurt.

Fire the bunch of them. Seems like the just don't want to do their job and trying to find a way out of it. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.
Don't be ridiculous. An election on the 2nd will only make things worse. Thaksin and his sister need to step down, reform needs to be made, and then there can be elections.

It's good they caught her, however most hotels have a sign saying they are not responsible for thefts in rooms.

Under the "Thaksin Thinks - Pheua Thai Acts" brigade, Yingluck and her PTP Cronies have not only raped the taxpayers of 100s of billions of Baht in the name of poorly thought out peasant policies, but have also raped the very peasants they hold so dearly, by ensuring that hardly any of the tax money even goes to them.
A real disgrace and these pirate thieves of the PTP should be locked away a long, long time.

How come the Eloctoral Commission has anything to say in this matter? Can anyone please explain?
A caretaker government have very limited money. They can follow already implemented rules, but anything that get close to new have to be looked at by the EC. The reason behind this is to stop the ruling party using state funds to sway votes before an election.
Thank you, I wish tey had a few competent writers like you on the Nation payroll to properly explain things!

7,000 protestors on the street this morning. Nearly as many as the average home attendance for my beloved Swindon Town
How can anyone take what you say seriously if you are a Swindon Town devotee????
Home of my favorite rock group, XTC! I love Swindon!

At real schools (ie intl schools) it is very strict. You have to present your original teacher license and transcripts and diploma, you have to take the thai cultural course, and only then are you given a teaching license for Thailand. Most teachers in intl schools also expect commensurate pay that they would get in their home country.
If they expect to get qualified teachers in the language schools and Thai schools as per above, the salaries will have to increase greatly. Or they can just hire certified filipino and cameroonian teachers.

I was raised to have healthy debate, which can include politics and religion. It should not affect friendships (that's just a sign of low self esteem and maybe intelligence).

Mr. Suthep has rejected democracy, flawed as it may be, And with him the impatient elite, all so very quickly, It's hard to improve our lot, be real, say the PDRC, So let's protest, let's die, and kill this fragile democracy. We lack the will to improve our political system, Changing our leaders seems our only option, Reforms, corruption control, that's not realistic, These are alien ideals, and for us not pragmatic. You have been brainwashed by Thaksin!
Suthep is looking for a chance to stop the madness, examine the constitution, and ensure that Thaksin the megalomaniac does not turn this country into a dictatorship. Thaksin's love for extrajudicial killing for his own fun and profit should be enough for you not to want him to be snuck back into power by K. Poo.

Surely the BBC can come up with more quality than this crap. Are they on the shina payroll?
Probably more just a case of lazy journalist who can't wait to wrap things up so he can go get a soapy.

Scathing report looking down on these idiots with the disdain they deserve.
Good to see Sutheps English skills are on a par with his tactical nous. Absolute moron, whilst Abhisit is equally repulsive at least the guy has brains.
More ignorant than scathing.

The protest is not going as planned with poor turnout and they will be grasping at straws and the airport and traffic control will be a way for them to put pressure on the government.
Lets hope the Military steps in and stops that (I dont mean a coup) just make sure that dont happen
Poor turnout? Estimated 250,000 today. And they don't even have to pay them to come! Actually, the protestors come with money to give to Suthep!
