Well we can start with the lie about the 9 million Baht tax and then assume that they lied about absolutely everything else they said and did.

I doubt it - they will all be immune in a couple of weeks if the numbers are true. -
What's adequate? Had she picked a slightly different insurance option it may have had the repatriation flight covered but cost a bit more. The real problem here is that 'the kids' have no clue what they need and just buy the cheapest / default offering. When they're buying insurance they're thinking of missed flights and lost luggage. They've probably never heard of a medical repatriation flight either.

I had to do this recently, not for a bank but for much more paranoid Bitcoin exchanges around the world, I completed full 'KYC verification' at about 4 of the largest exchanges in the world and one US based custodian over the course of a couple of days. How? They ask for a proof of address, so I was thinking of certificate of residence and then get it translated followed by potentially notarised for some of them - that's a whole different can of worms here in Thailand, then I thought of something. I went to Kasikorn and updated my address, I moved about 4 or 5 years ago and didn't get around to changing it lol, I asked them to use my new address in English and then print out an English language statement - they did it and that's enough to prove your address, a bank statement from a big Thai bank with an address in English. Also if you already bank with Lloyds I believe you can simply transfer your account to one of the offshore locations, the same type of option may be available with other banks.

DDC Affirms Chinese Travelers Pose Low COVID Risk
ukrules replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I reckon the arrival of the Chinese will make no noticeable difference at all. -
Ok, well that's new, I last renewed mine in late 2019 a few weeks before the first reports of people getting ill in Wuhan started to emerge on the international news. I know there's something weird that's been going on with these visas during the pandemic, I would be surprised if they apply this to an old visa from long ago - a legitimate one (if there is such a thing) but who knows. How long ago was your volunteer visa issued and is it in your current passport? I would definitely call them up and check they're not referring only to the scam visas that were being utilised by many people in the last few years during the pandemic, unless of course you had one of them in which case you might be a part of their target.

When you apply for a Thailand Elite visa they run any checks first and authorise the membership, you pay after approval. I believe they're merely covering themselves when they say immigration might deny issuing a visa due to the personal discretion thing - if that ever happened then they would have a choice to make, it would either be the end of Thailand Elite or they give the money back. Applying for approval for the visa costs nothing, once you get approval they ask you to pay. If you're going to be rejected for something trivial it will be before the payment stage.

Uthai Thani immigration and ISOC team up for PR drive
ukrules replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand
So let me get this right, the 'ISOC' are fighting international crime by checking 90 day reports and other rules which can only really mean overstayers / extensions? Isn't this the equivalent of deploying MI5 or the FBI to fight people who don't pay their parking tickets on time?- 1 reply
