Thai App Store vs your own countries
sometimewoodworker replied to cyril sneer's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
However that does not invalidate the point that there are apps that are exclusively in the Thai Apple App Store 2 are the PEA Smart plus and 1 or more of the immigration apps as I have said I don’t do Android so I can’t comment on it. -
EV V2L to house mains
sometimewoodworker replied to Gweiloman's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
The first thing you need is V to L capability built into EV. If it’s just an EV battery then you need cooling for the battery plus all the circuitry for charging. Actually installing a battery backup is reasonably simple. -
Thai App Store vs your own countries
sometimewoodworker replied to cyril sneer's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Changing your AppStore account to the U.K. AppStore is not a good move. I had 4 AppStore accounts until 3 years ago when I retired. 1 (main account) in the U.K. where all my money purchased apps are from 1 (no credit card account) in the USA for a couple of free apps that are USA only 1 (with local credit card) in Japan 1 (that was a no card account) for Thailand All the apps downloaded work in all the countries I live in or visit So create a U.K. AppStore account and use that for your bank app, continue using the Thai store for Thai apps. NB this is for the Apple AppStore, I have no idea about android -
Well I don’t have enough wood in use to warrant using one for the job, but as the as the diluting agent is almost certainly paraffin flushing with that or possibly diesel enough times should, if not totally clean, at least get it clean enough that there is no noticeable bad effect. Note I have used a hand pumped version.

The stamp in the new passport clearly shows all details of your last entry incl. visa class, point of entry etc. They even replicate the entry stamp. Of course the original visa remains in the old passport (expired in most cases). Thank you for both confirming my posting that the visa was not transferred, only information relating to it required to support the extension of stay, and an example of such a transfer.

No No as @ubonjoe has said. The 90 day report is only due if you have been in Thailand for 90 days. The online reminder system just counts from your last report and is brain dead for anything else. you can almost certainly do an online report early and it will be accepted. FWIW my last report was done by immigration (not me) 87 days early!!

The principal (having amended the actual times to account for the immigration counting being 1 day less than you note) is totally OK, but only if you haven’t been in and out of Thailand a lot. Immigration officers are quite prone to looking a numerous entries and deciding that people are “abusing” the system, even though you are within the rules, and giving you a hard time, giving a short (7 day) entry or even refusing entry. Having raised this spectre if these will be your first visits to this wonderful country and you avoid Poipet/Aranyaprathet you will have no problem, even less (and probably cheaper) if you fly.

Arrival Card
sometimewoodworker replied to shortstop2's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A) rather presumptive that the poster is lying or fumble fingered A1) you seem to be rather humour challenged B)while the poster has some problem (totally unclear as to what) my post did not address them at all so again you are being rather presumptive and imagining things that are not there -

Wow you are the first time traveler to have posted 55555 -
That is almost certainly untrue. The most authoritative information states. “SIM slot; nano-SIM and eSIM (A1921, A2101, A2102) dual nano-SIM (A2104)” any iPhone that has dual SIM (physical or e-SIM) capability can have both active. The only iPhone’s that have multiple eSIM capability are the iPhone 14s Also though you have an iPhone XS Max there are multiple variations of that model depending on the country it’s being sold in.

Good idea but treat all wood with that. A backpack sprayer is a useful investment.

Increasing Water Pressure - Installing a Pump without a Tank?
sometimewoodworker replied to Morakot's topic in DIY Forum
There are many that can theoretically can be used without a tank. That having been said there are practical problems and potential legal ones. Sucking from the mains is likely to bring in pathogens and pollutants, the mains is designed to be a positive pressure system, and as such cracks and small breaks in the pipes are no problem as the positive pressure will force clean water out of the system. Sucking from the mains is going to create a negative pressure in the system so all the wonderful fauna (bacteria) and flora (interesting fungi) not to mention the animal and human waste, is going to be sucked into the system and discharged into your supply. Then there is the legal point that it is virtually certain that is against the law, or at the least against all water companies rules of service to permit Sucking from the mains. So it’s a bad, not to say stupid idea. -
Very few countries get a visa on arrival, you don’t. You can arrive visa exempt, after October 1st you will get 45 days. This can be extended by 30 days. To get longer than 75 days you will need a border bounce either by land or air. You can only get a Non-O in Thailand from a visa exempt entry if you are over 50 or have a Thai wife. All other visas require you to go to an embassy or consulate.

Incorrect scaremongering. The airline has nothing to do with boarding passengers as a specific nationality. They are responsible to ensure that you have the correct documents to allow you to enter your destination country and leave the one you are in. Thousands of people travel with dual nationality. Show the checkin staff the second passport if asked. Show the immigration officers the passport of the country you are in (don’t show the other one to them) Thai passport in Thailand, Australian passport in Australia you will have no problem

Recovering is probably a good choice, though still expensive. However if it is a sofa or a settee is rather more difficult to determine. The piece I pictured is absolutely a sofa due to its size (over 2 metres x over 2 metres). But for many people there is no difference it’s just a different name for the same item.

The 1 year mark statement for all 3 methods is completely understandable given that it is a retirement extension as you need 1 year of transfers and or proof that you have maintained the requirements for bank balances throughout the year. It is only not a requirement for a marriage extension if using money in the bank. Also some offices will not accept photocopies of your bank book pages without a supporting bank statement.

Different strokes for different folks. There is no way that I would have a leather sofa unless I had the AC permanently set to a ridiculously low temperature so I didn’t sweat much.
