Working Wicking balaclavas under the helmet will do the trick. They have the added benefit of drawing sweat away from your head so you don't look like you've just got out of a sauna when you take the helmet off. Plus you can use it with every helmet you have and they're easy to wash. Good for keeping dust out of your mouth and earplugs in your ears too.

I had a similar experience with a slight twist in Bangkok. When I swerved to narrowly avoid the idiot pulling out on me I nearly sideswiped a motorbike taxi who was overtaking me. He then did what you did, tailgating me and beeping/gesticulating until we reached the next red light.
