The Decline of Free Speech: How the UK Became a Third-Class Nation
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I have already seen what happens. Here's a couple of examples that already happened. I have many... From the left... Jo Brand suggests an acid attack on Farage. No charges. Man throws multiple rocks at Farage while he is out campaigning. Suspended sentence. From the right... Man posts on social media to ask what will happen when immigrants arrive on "his turf". Jail. Man approaches a police officer at an anti immigrant protest and shouts at them. Jail (then commits suicide in his cell). One more. The wife of the Tory councillor got 3 years in jail, rushed through the court system in a week. Ricky Jones is still out on bail and has been for months. Then we have the Southport rioters rushed through the courts in a week to lengthy jail sentences for attacking police. The Manchester airport thugs broke a female police officers nose and still not even charged months later. You can say this isn't happening. It's all in my imagination, I'm paranoid (absolutely classic gaslighting). But the evidence has been provided to you many times. You just choose to pretend it isn't happening, at least publicly. -

Very telling. Clearly Trump thinks he is a muppet as well. -
BBC Staff Divided Over Call to Wear Palestinian Flag Colors and Keffiyeh
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Let them. Nobody sane is even pretending they are impartial anymore. At least wrapping themselves in the Palestinian flag would represent a modicum of honesty from them for once. They could wear Labour party badges on their lapels as well. Maybe change their logo to include a picture of Stalin.- 125 replies

HBO’s Bold Defense of J.K. Rowling Signals the Waning of Woke Culture
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It is for you. -
Just as boring, inane and cringe as her campaign was. DEI firmly rejected. Trans ideology firmly rejected. Open borders firmly rejected. Doomsday cultism formly rejected. Liars like Harris firmly rejected. Well done America. I thought she might pull the wool over your eyes for a moment. Kudos (to most of you) for seeing through this utter fraud of a woman.

HBO’s Bold Defense of J.K. Rowling Signals the Waning of Woke Culture
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well done HBO. People are sick of Woke nonsense being shoved down our throats, pardon the pun. Bud Light, Disney, Jaguar etc. can all do one. I will never support a business that shows itself to be so gullible and lacking in good judgement as to follow inane, cringy fads like Wokeism. JK Rowling is a legend. Her defense of women's rights should be applauded unlike all the plastic feminists who think it is edgy and progessive to want blokes in the girl's loos. -
Government Revamps Non-Hate Crime Guidelines Amid Rising Controversy
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes that was my point. Hate is a human emotion, you can't ban it any more than you can ban anger, sadness or love. It seems the latest angle from the pro-censorship/anti free speech lobby is that as long as the police do not mention a "non crime hate incident" using those specific words in that specific order, then they are free to continue knocking on people's doors and intimidating the public about their political beliefs when no actual crime has been committed. -
Elon Musk Sparks Controversy, Calling the UK a ‘Tyrannical Police State’
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I trust you are aware that Keir Starmer is leader of the Labour party and the UK's Prime Minister, who Musk has directly attacked on Twitter? He has also strongly criticized the UK as a whole. Multiple times. Here is one example. https://www.politico.eu/article/elon-musk-brand-uk-tyrannical-police-state/ -

What crime has she committed and been charged with? What crime did the police inform her she had committed? What crime were the police investigating? -

Why would Trump stop criticism of a party whose head of operations sent UK citizens to campaign against him in the election? Like most things, Labour didn't really think that through. -

Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Nonsense. I was talking about absolute costs, not relative costs. You are trying to deflect again. The reason it may be "relatively" high for the poorest in society is due to low wages, nothing to do with import tariffs on foreign goods (the subject of this thread). -

While being pretty fluent in spoken Thai, the Issan dialect does present some difficulties occasionally but I am quickly coming to grips with it. Yes it's a wonderful hobby. Producing organic food is very rewarding and the locals appreciate the money I have invested in the community. -
Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No I do not accept that. Thailand is very cheap to live. It's certainly a lot cheaper than America or the UK, despite Thailand having huge import tariffs on many foreign goods. You are trying to deflect to the fact that wages are low for many Thai people which is a different subject and nothing to do with import tariffs on foreign goods (the subject of the thread). -

So not tariffs on imported foreign goods then... I rarely hear the neighbours up at my farm complaining about the price of Cabernet Sauvignon and Camembert. -
Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
They won't pay import tariffs on domestically produced goods. Hence that's what American people will buy more of, and the American economy will flourish, allowing for lower taxes, lower prices and better services. -

Do you think that's because of tax on imported foreign goods? -
The Decline of Free Speech: How the UK Became a Third-Class Nation
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I believe whatever the law is, it should apply equally to both sides. Let's see how many years Ricky Jones gets. Let's see how many years the Manchester airport attackers get. Let's see how many years the guy with the petition to have Farage executed gets. None will spend a day in jail (just like the guy who threw rocks at Farage while he was campaigning didn't spend a single day in jail, just like Jo Brand's "joke" about an acid attack on Farage wasn't even charged) and you will be back on here gaslighting trying to defend the indefensible 2 tier justice system because it is currently stacked in your favour. -

The Decline of Free Speech: How the UK Became a Third-Class Nation

No, the 2 tier UK justice system has already been proven with regards to Nigel Farage, when BBC leftie luvvie Jo Brand said the milkshake thrown over him should have been acid and was not even charged. He's right wing you see. It's open season on him. A free hit. The guy (Josh Greally) who threw rocks at him whlle he was campaigning didn't even spend a day in jail, unlike multiple year sentences for hurty FaceBook posts if you're on the right. Apparently sticks and stones do not count but words gets you a 3 stretch. Yet another example of 2 tier justice in Britain, as if any more were needed.
