  1. i had a similar problem

i have 22'' rims and they had been subject to some ''falling in a big hole type'' damage and were out of true

so i too suffered vibration around 100kph

i went to the top bridgestone place in Siracha

they said they could straighten the rims for 1500 each

i passed on that as they would be away for two weeks

so i asked them to get their best man and asked him this:

find out which are the best wheels and the best tyres of the four and swap them around, balance them to the best of his ablity and then put the best pair on the front

put the worst of the set on the rear

then make sure the alignment is exactly right

they have a laser thing there and its very accurate

the problem is not cured entirely but its a lot better

what was violent vibration is now mild

it took about 3 hours and cost 1500 baht

  2. In the queue at 7.11 waiting for my turn, and some Thai woman opens the door and manages to get served before me.

In the queue (with crossed legs) at the toilets of a busy Bar/disco and some Thai woman runs in and jumps the queue, runs into the loo and locks the door.

It's just not fair !!!!! Terrible manners.

just a excuse to cry about thau ladies sorry this si what it looks like to me

is it because they are so slim and beautiful ?

What an undeservedly mean reply to a perfectly understandable and legitimate point.

    I foresee banishment in Markland's future. whistling.gif

aside from being a rude response, its a moot point to make as Pattaya girl is slim and beautiful too......

  3. Yeah, I don't get the bread and fried thingies they give you as a starter for a PIZZA which is mostly made with dough. Duh. It's daft. Good with another kind of meal, but pizza not so much. They should give you a small SALAD instead if they want to give you anything.

Yes. The redundant dough snacks don't go with pizza.

    Good though.

i like them but would not object if they changed to a few Italian bread sticks, a nice dip and some veggie crudites

  4. So the Sam's burrito in the pic. Did that order include rice and beans in the burrito, or not? Burritos without rice or beans and just meat are more Northern Mexican roots burrito than standard California style burritos (which is the dominant U.S. burrito style). Keep in mind burritos are huge in the USA and a very minor food type in Mexico. Just asking, not judging ...

No, there were no rice or beans in it. I am from Canada and yes they are different from USA however I also spent years in Mexico and of course you cannot compare.

I have never eaten at SR or any other Mexican food place in Pattaya so I am not comparing. Just a simple post to let those who do not know about this place that it seemed ok for me. It was tasty and more then enough to fill me up. He did offere other sauces etc but all I wanted was the Burrito so I just declined. Beef Burritos can be tasty really if cooked with the correct spices or herbs and for the price it's worth a try I think.

PS: Timekeeper please stop trolling as I always see you do. If you do not want to contribute to the topic wether positive or negative then please just move onto a topic that interests you. Either that or go eat at Sam's, come back here and tell what you think. Please do not just come into a topic to just troll or start useless arguments and yes JT has several worth while postings on food and restaurants that are just GREAT for us who are curious.

PPS: I also have never had rice inside a burrito even in mexico. Always on the side. I say a bean burrito is just that and a beef burrito is just that.

    Trolling ?

    as i always do ?

that's a rich, broad stroke from someone who has been on TV all of 3 months!

how would you know where i have been or not been or what i have always done on TV?

have you meandered through my 3,795 posts to find out if ''trolling as I always see you do''

    no i didn't think so

in Fact you do not even know that i have been to Sams when it very first opened and have already reported it on briefly on TV many moons ago (yes there was life on TV before Gone appeared to instruct us)

i even conferred with our famous TV food critic about it by PM (no names now, you know who you are or who you think you are)

that was before you even found Thai Visa and started spending your time opening thoroughly boring topics and trying to became a little bit of an expert on everything and master of none

maybe you should do some research before you come here pointing fingers at others who have already been there and done it, way before you were even thought of ......

i for one have eaten at ALL the major Mexican offerings in town including ST (Sunrise Tacos NOT SR as you call it ) and although there are many more restaurants of note now in Pattaya since i took up residence some 12 years ago, i have still eaten at most of them with good and bad results and paid ++ before it became an issue for anyone

however, personally, i would rather consume the food than be consumed by writing about it

i would rather tell the owner face to face if its bad news than whinge and whine about it on here

maybe some of you shrinking violets should try it, its so much more satisfying telling someone the foods shit face to face

so off to bed now little man, Barneys on TV and your mum says your Alphabetti Spaghetti is ready .......

  5. Having eaten in Sunrise once, sorry but never again. I have a major objection to places addind 10 plus 7 percent to the bill. Basically it it is a rip on the numerically deficient in the society --- and lets face it, there are many of these people. It's okay for me, I can calculate these numbers in my head, and can also afford it. Just a point of principle ---- does anybody remember principles.

this is not intended as a vindication of ST policy and certainly not a recommendation of their food but personally i do not give a jot about ++

it does not dictate where i eat, i eat where the foods consistently good regardless of ++

i have had more bad meals at restaurants that don't ++ than do

personally i would rather pay more by any method, than waste money on poor food, poor service and go home angry & dissapointed

  6. Just the facts, ma'am. coffee1.gif

    your version of them.......

Right, and if you have opinions about Mexican restaurants, why not post them, instead of going troll?

as you well know JT, i gave Gil my opinion directly mano et mano

i did not see fit to post it for all and sundry on this forum to pontificate over

further, i have more going on in my life than to exercise a need to ramble on incessantly about the pro's and cons of a Mexican restaurant on a public forum.....

Hilarious! But you have plenty of time for inflammatory personal attacks. This is a forum. You come on here and diss people who post opinions on forums and who wish to communicate on forums? It seems like an odd format to do that. What's next, a television ad campaign to watch less television? Nobody is dissing talking to owners directly either. Sometimes I do that, sometimes I don't. There is value in communication -- PERIOD.

BTW, I don't think there is anything wrong per se with the style of Sam's burrito as pictured above (and yes I have eaten there myself). Burritos come in different styles. We are lucky now that there are now more CHOICES in styles of burritos in Pattaya.

i need to add a comment to my own post:

i don't have the time or inclination to respond to the latest series of PM,s i have just received from JT either

once he has made his point he will very likely delete them and close the thread before i get a chance to respond anyway

just as has has done before in previous PM exchanges

you are wasting your time this time, i can't be arsed with you.........

  8. The picture of the La Bocca pizza does indeed look good. Is it aircon or al fresco? Looking forward to a second opinion, then we'll surely try it out.

    i went on Friday, Phil

no need to go into the fine details

just to say it was excellent on all counts and looking for an excuse to drive from Mabprachan to go again

hi Phil, the new avatar is errr .... unusual for you

do you ever watch 'Curb your Enthusiasm' ?

Larry David has some wonderful lines related to baldness in the series

just search youtube Larry David bald to view

  10. ]

Hm, you lost me there ... I always thought(and just confirmed by Wikipedia) that "Pepperoni is a spicy Italian-American variety of salami". What were you looking for?

you dont know the difference between salami and pepperoni?

hope you are not lost anymore Phil

Pretty sure he said the same thing as in that link you posted. Pepperoni is a spicy version of salami.

Pepperoni is a type of Italian salami.

Forget about the rest, just go for the best (and TV sponsor) NY Pizza House. Stick to the medium size, choice of crust thicknesses. Single topping pepperoni 295baht, double 340baht, quadruple 385baht (carnivore!). I get my pizza nowhere else. 10% discount for PCEC members.

i admit its in my nature to be mercenary but based on TV members reviews, i went there the other night, had pizza and other bits and pieces

i am genuinely sorry to say i was not impressed.

i will give la bocca a try next time

    where is it please?

  11. Fascino on Pattaya Nua is the only licensed pharmacy in Pattaya that you can buy "real" sleeping pills without a perscription. None of the other Fascinos can sell them.

    What variety of sleeping pills?

I cannot remember the ones I used to buy for my dad when he was alive but they were strong. They were first perscibed by the doctor at BPH and of course we paid their price at their pharmacy but when they ran out I just showed them to Phascino the empty bag and they gave us the same ones for 1/2 the cost. I was having trouble sleeping the past few nights and was passing Fascino on Pattaya Kland and popped in to ask and they told me that Nua was the only place licenced to sell sleeping pills non-perscription in Pattaya. Them and the other 4 pharmacies I tried right there and then only had big tubs of some things they called "for anxiety pills" and there were 1000 per jug.

I'm sure if you ask in Fascino Nua for sleeping pills they will show you what ones they have. Ours were very tiny little red or blue ones if I remember correctly.

the most commonly supplied sleeping drug at BPH is Dormicom

its prescription only, Fascino won't supply it over the counter

even BPH have a limit on how many tabs they will supply to a patient over a 3 month period, as its an addictive drug

you may have blagged it before at Fascino with a pharmacy supply note from the BPH pharmacy and you may do so again if you get a lax server but they are very careful now

there are no walk ins without documents , walk out with drug, anymore

there is pharmacy in south pattaya with an on site doctor that will sign off and supply almost anything but you will pay dearly for it

dormicom is 400 baht a tab!

no Pms on location thank you

    sort yourselves out!

ps if you just want to get some sleep, get some strong, over the counter anti hystemines , they will do the job for most people
