Interesting in the last statement about updating the app on your phone....can kinda imply a person needs the updated app for things to work properly after the maintenance update. But Google Play for Android shows the latest ReverSharger update as 22 July 2024. If an app update is required they sure are waiting till the last minute since 4 Sep is less than 7 hours away Thailand time.

Roojai is really only a broker/middleman with insurance companies. It's the insurance companies with the new EV coverage rules that causing the big increase.

The current free electrons promotion is good for 1 Aug 2024 thru 3 Jan 2025....a 5 month period. However, at the end of August there were news articles in the Nation, Bangkok Post, and other news media saying the BYD had agreed to provide 12 months of free charging. However, other than these news articles saying such I've seen no other indications/articles providing confirmation the 12 months of free charging was a "for sure" thing versus just some govt official making a pre-official/pre-done-deal announcement. I even contacted Rever Automotive Group Customer Service several weeks ago and they know nothing of a" 12 month" free charging promotion; they only know about their current 5 month promotion which ends 3 Jan 2025. Anyone heard any update about 12 months of free charging? If there was really such an agreement reached between BYD and the govt maybe it will not be officially launched to just before the current 5 month promotion ends....OR, maybe the current end date of 3 Jan 2025 will be extended 31 July 2025....OR maybe BYD said they would provide free charging thru 2024/end of the year and news media misreported it as 12 months of free of charging when in fact the end of year was only 5 months away.....OR maybe BYD never agreed to 12 months of free charging and only told the govt they would think about it....don't call me, I'll call you once I decide. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/automobile/40040171 31 Aug 2024 news article

Thanks....when zooming in on the pictures I saw a building sign that appeared to say Chiang Mai but it was too blurry to be sure. When going into Google Maps satellite and street view modes those pictures match up to the Bangchak station pictures in the post. Just not enough Red Pin chargers in many locations to prevent queues when people are determined to get some free electrons.

Any idea of the location of above?

Below are the charging curves for the BYD Seal AWD and RWD with an 85KWH battery under optimum conditions...the curves vary somewhat between the two models. https://evkx.net/models/byd/seal/seal_awd/chargingcurve/ https://evkx.net/models/byd/seal/seal_rwd/chargingcurve/ Now I don't have a Seal but do have an BYD Atto and found my Atto with 60KWH battery does closely follow the charging curve shown for it at the evkx.net website.

That redeem button is for manually adding/entering/activating other free/discount coupons you might get. Press the Redeem Code button and a window will pop-up up to enter a code number. If it's a valid/unused code number and it's a coupon that can be manually added it will be added to your wallet. Enter the code from the Rever Group coupon and it will be rejected since you already have the coupon loaded. Some coupons can not be redeemed manually as they are only added by accomplishing another process like how the Rever Group coupon is added by accomlishing the AutoCharge setup process where the Charger communicates with the Vehicle to validate the VIN.

The great majority of that should sand-out...wet sanding. Start with 800 grit and finish with 2000 to 3000 grit. You can do this by hand but a rotary sander/buffer would be better. After the sanding using some polishing paste after the 2000 grit would be a good idea. Finish up with some sealant/clear coat (important) such as below. Sure worked on my 2009 Fortuner that wasn't as bad as above (about half as bad). Don't use any chemicals to clean the lens as it can make them look better for a short time but it don't last and chemical can actually damage the lens.

EU area vehicle registration stats are bottom. Go to the link below to see the associated charts as they might not appear in the partial quote below. Regarding the growth in hybrids (HEV) market share, well, that's a no-brainer as many vehicle manufacturers are adding a small electric drive system and small traction battery to assist the combustion engine that still doing the great majority of the work. Now the manufacturer can stick a HEV badge on the vehicle that lots of people are looking for now days...and the manufacturer get to continue selling their electric-modified ICEV. The manufacturers know many people want to go electric but the manufacturer may be behind the curve in offering fully electric vehicles (i.e. BEV) and many people are just not ready yet to go full electric. But many people are willing to dip their toes in the hybrid waters....they are just not ready yet to jump into BEV waters. So, many manufacturers are sticking HEV badges on many of their models by adding a little bit of electric power to their ICEV which turns it into a HEV. End result more HEV are being sold as ICEV market share decline. https://www.acea.auto/pc-registrations/new-car-registrations-4-3-in-june-2024-battery-electric-14-4-market-share/ New car registrations: +4.3% in June 2024; battery electric 14.4% market share 18 July 2024 In June 2024, EU car registrations increased by 4.3%, driven by gains in three out of the region’s four major markets: Italy (+15.1%), Germany (+6.1%), and Spain (+2.2%). In contrast, France saw a decline of 4.8% last month. In the first half of 2024, new car registrations increased by 4.5%, reaching nearly 5.7 million units. However, registration volumes remain relatively low (-18%) compared to pre-pandemic levels. The bloc’s largest markets all showed positive but modest performance, with Spain (+5.9%), Germany (+5.4%), Italy (+5.4%), and France (+2.8%) all recording growth. New EU car registrations by power source In June, battery-electric cars accounted for 14.4% of the EU car market, down from 15.1% the previous year. At the same time, hybrid-electric vehicles increased their market share, growing from 24.4% to 29.5%. The combined share of petrol and diesel cars fell to 47.1%, down from 49.6%. Electric cars In June 2024, registrations of battery-electric (BEV) cars declined by 1% to 156,408 units, with their total market share dropping to 14.4% from 15.1%. Despite significant growth in Belgium (+50.4%) and Italy (+117.4%), these gains could not offset double-digit declines in the other top markets: Germany (-18.1%), the Netherlands (-15%), and France (-10.3%). As a result, a total of 712,637 new battery-electric cars were registered in the first half of the year. This marks a modest 1.3% increase from the same period the previous year, and represents 12.5% of the market. Plug-in hybrid car registrations saw a strong decline of 19.9% last month, with significant decreases in three of the largest markets: Belgium (-49.2%), France (-21.7%), and Germany (-3.4%). In June, plug-in hybrids accounted for 6.1% of the total car market, down from 7.9% last year, with 66,482 units sold. Hybrid-electric vehicles were the only powertrain category to post growth, with car registrations increasing by 26.4% in June to 321,959 units. All four of the largest markets for this segment recorded double-digit gains: France (+34.9%), Italy (+27.2%), Spain (+23%), and Germany (+16.5%). This growth pushed the hybrid-electric market share to 29.5%, up from 24.4% in June 2023. Petrol and diesel cars In June 2024, petrol car sales remained relatively stable, decreasing by just 0.7%. Declines in key markets such as France (-20.2%) and Spain (-7.5%) were counterbalanced by growth in Germany (+12.1%) and Italy (+6.9%). As a result, petrol cars now represent 34.4% of the market, down from 36.2% in June last year. The diesel car market saw a similar situation, with a slight decline of 0.9%, resulting in a 12.7% share of the market last June. While Germany experienced a gain of 12.4%, decreases were observed in other major markets like Italy (-18.3%), France (-8.3%), and Spain (-2.1%).

A lot of low cost camera lens are "not" glass (WD40 does not damage glass); so, if the camera lens is instead made of plastic type material use of WD40 might not be a good idea as it may damage the clear plastic lens.. https://lifehacker.com/places-you-should-never-use-wd-40

No....that drop seems to be typical based on my googling/youtubing as lithium type batteries typically show a 3 to 5% drop during their first year of use and then that decline slows down greatly/flatten out over the coming years. Do not think that a battery's SOH is a linear drop over time. For example, take a look at this youtube video.

Car Scanner app links on Google Play and Apple Store below. There is a free version and for approx $5 a Pro version. This app has over 10 million Android downloads....one of the best/most popular OBD2 apps....it's the one that Byorn Nyland uses in his EV review Youtube videos. The Pro version just gets rid of advertising within the app and allows creation/modification of menus/displays....get the Pro version. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ovz.carscanner&hl=en https://apps.apple.com/us/app/car-scanner-elm-obd2/id1259933623 The dongle I bought off Lazada...it includes a on/off switch which you want as it prevents someone else nearby connecting to the Bluetooth signal. I leave it plugged into the Atto all the time and only turn it on when I want to see OBD2 data. I've been using the app and dongle combo since mid May 2024....they work together like a charm....does not cause any issues with the EV....gives tons of traction battery info plus other info. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.K3RP2

Update: my Car Scanner Pro Android app and my OBD2 dongle now display traction SOH for my Atto. Over the last few days the app apparently updated its connection profile file (i.e., driver) for my Atto. After 10 months and 19,458km of driving the traction battery's SOH is 95.88%. I now need to determine how often and what triggers a SOH update. I first noticed the SOH availability mid day when charging to 100% at a ReverSharger DC charger....filling up with some free electrons since my Atto gets free charging till 3 Jan 2025 under the current BYD charging promotion. This evening after burning off the charge down to around 80% I charged to 100% again with my home wall charger....I wanted to see if the SOH might update/change every time a person charges to 100%. But it did not update/change....SOH didn't change even a tiny bit..it remained 95.88% At this point in time I'm going to guess the SOH will only update when letting the battery drop to 10% or less charge which triggers a charge now warning....and a person is also suppose to let the charge to drop to 10% or less followed by a charge to 100% every 3 o 6 months as this recalibrates the BMS charge measuring/indication system....the last time I did a recalibration was about a month ago. I will update once I figure out what & when a SOH update is triggered.

Don't worry....Mr Toyota is coming to the rescue with its awesome water engine.....kicking to the curb their hydrogen-powered engine which was going to kill off electric vehicles. Yeap....Mr Toyota is coming to the rescue....revolutionary engine just around the corner...but until then Mr Toyota says to keep buying their ICEV. 😜😉😁

I think that's the way it works....Tesla buys the batteries from other companies like Panasonic, LG, CATL, BYD, etc., and then Tesla assembles the battery "pack" consisting of the batteries, BMS, cooling system, etc., at its megafactories.

Tesla has recently dipped its toes into making its own batteries but the great majority of batteries used by Tesla are made by Panasonic, LG, CATL, and BYD. https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/where-does-tesla-get-its-lithium-updated-2024#:~:text=What company makes Tesla's,cells containing nickel and cobalt. https://insideevs.com/news/587455/batteries-tesla-using-electric-cars/

Above posts related to EV tire wear....where one person claimed his EV tires wore out after 7,500 miles (12,070km) and where I showed my 2023 Atto 3 EV tire wear after 7 months with 8,216 miles (13,253km) Below are some updated tire wear pictures of my Atto tires after 10 months 11,930 miles (19,200km). Still showing little wear....as I mentioned in my earlier post the tires will probably last 60-80K kilometers.

Had the Rat Guard installation done on my Atto today along with having the 12 month/20,000Km scheduled maintenance checkup. The checkup done a little early at 10 months/19,200km....I asked to have the checkup done a little early since I was having the Rat Guard installation done today...kill two birds with one stone....the dealership didn't have a problem with the early checkup since I was within 1,000km of the 20,000km checkup point. The Rat Guard installation and checkup took a total of 1 hr 45 min. All free. Done at my local BYD dealership.

Well, if you are a home owner who runs a one large A/C 24/7 to cool the downstairs of a house and another large A/C 12/7 (night use only) to cool the upstairs of a house along with a couple of refrigerators, TVs, routers, water pump, water heater, charging for an EV, etc., you can easily use close to 2000KWH per month....PEA will charge a person Bt10,113 for those 2,000KWH which works out to B5.05 per KWH...an that with the low Ft now of only Bt0.3972/KWH. And lets say a person only used 1000KWH per month...the cost would be Bt4957 which works out to Bt4.96/KWH. Using a Bt5KWH is an accurate figure for many house hold a...this includes the the basic rate, Ft, meter fee, and taxes....the total cost. Additionally, there are charging losses of around 10%...so it takes about 1.1KWH of energy feed into the EV for 1.0KWH to make it's way into the battery....this means it really costs around Bt5.5KWH on each 1KWH that makes it into the battery. https://eservice.pea.co.th/EstimateBill/# Using 2,000KWH per month cost Using 1000KWH per month cost
